You get more control with /TA than with /Sonic though, so it is easier to keep the mobs in the aoe.
A major reason for going Ill/TA is that illusion is light on control, and /TA helps to make up for that.
Mass Hypnosis should work well with Disruption Arrow (or the sonic equivelent) though. Those mobs will be able to kill each other much more quickly. -
I thnk one issue is that a lot of the more experienced players have got to level 40 and are marking time until issue 7. Sill, there are good teams around.
-
If it can outdamage illusion/TA it will be hugely overpowered.
The thing with Illusion is the temp damage from Spec Wounds and PA benefits from the resistance debuffs, and if you can kill the mobs fast enough it doesn't matter if it heals back. -
Acid Arrow does about 5*0.23 points of damage.
It's nice not to have to wait to level 41 to explode oil slick. My Phantom loves exploding it.
The bug in Controller Poison Gas Arrow causes it to only affect its target and no other mobs in the aoe. The chance of sleep is 5% checked only once. It doesn't do any damage, it just debuffs damage. -
Mind/TA will be heavy on controll, but a bit light on damage.
The damage from TA itself is negigable. Acid arrow does less damge than brawl. Oil Slick Arrow neads fire or energy damage to ignite, which I don't think mind can provide.
The debuffs, particularly to damage resistance are sizable (2*20% or there abouts). Defense is also debuffed by Acid Arrow.
The mez for Glue Arrow, Net Arrow, Ice Arrow and EMP Arrow have a longer durations than the defender versions.
Controller Poison Gas Arrow is bugged atm. Avoid at all costs. -
Well they do appear to be getting some kind of aoe tp foe.

I agree that using the environment is a valid tactic, it's the debt that is the problem.
-
Not much chance of that, Warburg is usually empty when I have been there.
The problem I see with the PvP zones is not the rules (apart from FFA in Warburg), it that mobs give you debt at all. Debt should be abolished from all PvP zones (and mobs should give no xp). -
CE is the best Taunt Aura in the game. Icicles is &$&*%.

I have 3 damages in my PA, with the resistance debuffs from Acid Arrow and Disuption Arrow they can and do do significant damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
The point is that I would slot 3 recharges, and I guess (hope) you do too
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, only 2 (+hasten). I can hold the mobs until the power recharages. Geas of the Kind Ones helps in a tight situations. -

And the extra controls in /TA mean I can still control the mobs while PA is down. -
If you are Ill/TA, then Blind, Flash, Net Arrow, Ice Arrow, Poison Gas Arrow (occasionally) and EMP Arrow.
-
For Battle Drones I would slot 3 acc, 3 dam, since they will usually be fighting much higher levele mobs.
For Protector Bots I slot 2 acc, 2 dam, 2 +Def. Their shields are up most of the time, thier heal they nearly always use a the wrong time.
And you can't slot pets for damage resistance now. -
For high damage pick a controller with Kinetics, Rad or TA secondary.
-
Psi is magic against Clockwork, but there aren't many of those in CoV (just a few in Cap).
-
Yeah, as far as I could tell it was ticking grey 3s and 4s at level 35. Nothing in the combat window. I don't intend to try slotting the def debuff, I don't miss much anyway, and I would imagine Acid Arrow gives more -def for your money.
-
Psionic Dart certainly has a very fast recharge, making it useful for building domination. Shame about the damage.
-
Is it worth slotting damage?
(didn't think it was worth posting this question on the controller boards, as I don't know of any higher level /TA controllers than me). -
The other slotting issue that can significantly affect the suvivability of bots is if the protectors have a couple of defense SOs slotted for thier forcefields.

Heh, I think that anybody on a patrol mission is supposed to be attacked though, otherwise what would be the point of patrol mission in a PVP zone if not the danger of being attacked? I mean, you even get a badge out of it..

My thinking was that they were probably doing it for the temporary stealth power. I enjoy fighting stealthed foes so I was happy to let them continue on their way

If no one attacks a person patroling a PvP zone, then the reward (temp power) Is very much greater than the risk. Don't be suprised if the patrols get removed if this becomes the norm. -

I have to admit I don't know what I'd do if asked to back off out of a duel.. Possibly I would, possibly I'd not.

I know what I would do, I would get cross and continue to attack until they swore at me. Then I would /petition them. I get angry when people start making up their own rules and then expect me to obey them.
Attacking someone in a PvP zone is not griefing. That is the clearly spelled out rule of the zone. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT STAY OUT.
PS At 37 I do not consider myself a kid. Nor am I a disregarder of rules and manners. It is the people who try to impose thier own rules on the zone who are arrogant, ill mannered and inconsiderate.

Enjoyment is subjective. The devs have to use thier best judgment. Clearly they are never going to please everyone. However they have provided arenas for dueling, and great big warning signs on the PvP zone, and design the game so that it is never nessassry to enter a PvP zone. I think that is quite enough.
