It's not like a Purple set, not only is it not purple (i.e. not very rare), it is available at level 10+, not level 50 only.
Oh, and the enhancement is normal IO sized, not the larger purple enhancement amount. -

PVP in MMO's sucks, even EVE and the up comming WAR have nothing on a good FPS like CS or UT, they might have some fun sstem, but for pure PvP that scales from 1 vs 1 to 32 vs 32, FPS will always rule.
[/ QUOTE ]
'tis an good point, and the difference is, FPS success is based entirely on player skill. -

The reward is FUN! You missing the whole point of playing this game?
[/ QUOTE ]
I find PvP in Dominions, Chess, Delta Force, Tekken and loads of other games fun. I don't find the PvP in CoH fun. Thus, no reward.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's your opinion, not a fact.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure it's my opinion, never said anthing to indicate otherwise.
This is a fact: If PvP was better rewarded I would PvP more often. I cannot speek for anyone else.
This is also a fact: If there was there where alternative PvP and PvE builds I wouldn't use it (or I would use my PvP build for somthing else such as an AV-killer, rapid travel, or AoE build instead). I can't of course, speek for anyone else.
[ QUOTE ]
Doesn't mean just because there is no 'rewards' as such from PvP, that people don't find it fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
I find PvP fun. I just find it not as much fun as PvE.
[ QUOTE ]
Hence why there has been a core majority

personally, I think the lack of reward is an issue for people not enganging in PvP as well. It is for me anyway.

Not really. PvP can be fun, but PvE is more fun, and you get rewarded with character progression as well. -
Winters Gift works with any travel power, including TP.
I doubt there is any direct connection to Universal Enhancements, which are a very long way off. -

I wonder of the people that don't PVP what proprtion of those people come under the various reasons, namely "I don't PVP because:"
* It's difficult to get in to
* Put off by trash talk
* I'm not interested in combat against other players / I prefer PVE
* PVP mechanics are broken / imbalanced
Personally, I'd have thought most of the non PVPers would come under the first 3 categories. If you wanted to PVP, reason 4 probably wouldn't bother you that much, because you'd find ways of getting round it. If you didn't want to PVP, it wouldn't matter how well implemented it was, you probably still wouldn't?
Fair? Or have I missed the point entirely?

Those are the ones that where added in issue 12.

I can't believe we're still having this discussion. It's been going on since PvP was put in the game and it's still going on, with exactly the same suggestions and arguments.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, the OP is fairly new, and those problems have been there from the start, and are still there now (largely because they are insoluble, or at least not soluble is a way what wouldn't enrage as many people as it pleased).
Has PvP faceplanted? No, because it has never been alive. -
[ QUOTE ]
There are also a few chest detail Icons in the cossie creator menu that I swear were not there before!
[/ QUOTE ]
I couldn't see any chest details beyond the ones that where added in issue 12. -
[ QUOTE ]
But it would bring more people to the actual PvP fields.
[/ QUOTE ]
I doubt it. Someone who was not already a PvP fan really wouldn't be bothered, or have the knowledge, to create a PvP build.
What it would do is make the lives of people who are already into PvP easier, by letting them create a PvE build for leveling and farming. -
[ QUOTE ]
Scrappers would do alright in casual PvP
[/ QUOTE ]
Eh? until some ranged attacker starts kiting them you mean? defeating a melee AT with a ranged AT isn't rocket science, even a casual PvPer can work it out.
Easing imbalance doesn't help. there will still be leet builds and leet players, and they are what put casual players off.
Some sort of ranking or handicapping system would be more useful, so players are always PvPing against opponents at thier own level. -
Even if you could repec your build for PvP, it doesn't solve the problem of inbalance between ATs and specific powersets.
-
I don't see how a game that has superfast travel and melee ATs could ever have balanced PvP (unless you made PvP zone a 10' x 10' box).
However, if people don't care so much about winning in PvP, and don't create builds based solely around winning in PvP, then it is a good laugh.
Here is an idea: upon entering PvP you are given a completly random character to play.
[ QUOTE ]
I'm a fairly casual gamer who doesn't consider PvP an abomination
[/ QUOTE ]
Me too. -
So, Universal Travel, eh? I bet these can be slotted in travel passives. Attempt to compensate for the Stealth IO debacle.
I am also of the opinion that this is a special winter event drop (the first set bonus is cold resistance).
edit: There are an awful lot of bids on something that isn't in the game yet! -
The devs like signiture characters to have a unique costume piece.
-
But if they aren't warned the movie is coming, how can they prepare to avoid it?
-
I think dynamic zone changes might be good for one or two new or revamped zones, but only if they had some gameplay effect.
-
I don't use a mic, so I suspect it is picking up interference from other cables or the wireless router.
-
They drop from mobs. They are common if you are in the right level range.
They are expensive at the AH because they only drop at low levels, high level characters have to buy them. -
[ QUOTE ]
While I agree that there is a limit to the amount of work they can put into the game, it is not our role here to second guess the resources of the developers, merely to post ideas.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's up to us to tell the devolepers which ideas we think are worth them spending time on, and which are not. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's more to do with intelligent posters.
[/ QUOTE ]
So anyone who disagrees with you is unintellegent? Good way to make friends.

By that I mean people who can read what is actually written

You mean in exactly the way that you can't?

it is hard for me to think I can have a meaningful conversation with you.

It's hard for you to have a meaningful conversation with anyone.

You clearly dont have a clue about what i'm saying in the first place.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, I think that goes for most of us.

But those who are not disegenious on these boards know I could have.
[/ QUOTE ]
Who? Name one.
[ QUOTE ]
it brings out the little people who try to give themselves a name by popping at me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think popping at you would get anyone a name, unless you can get a name for shooting fish in a barrel.
It's funny though. -
Sound systems aren't my are of expertise, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to stop subwoofer interference causing it to go bang every so often?
-
[ QUOTE ]
one of the reasons I don't like posting overpowered IO builds on the forums, they're rarely practical as a levelling build
[/ QUOTE ]
Agree with you 100%. -
Practical objection: It would occupy developers who could otherwise be working on something that would add to gameplay rather than being purely cosmetc.

It's not a faceguard, its a mask. It's just styled on a greeco-roman helmet.
