  1. Are you suggesting that more brass mechanical spiders would not be a good thing?!
  2. Talking of puddings, Ecky-Thump for scrappers, tankers stalkers and brutes.
  3. Given that the proverb is of american origin, not roman, is it wisdom to translate it into a dead language?
  4. Rikti costumes have the same issues as the arachnos ones: they are not compatable with non-rikti costume parts. The only way to do it would be like the VEATs, you have a seperate costume slot for your rikti costume.

The same applies to the costumes of many of the existing villain groups.

    Tanker powersets

    [ QUOTE ]
ahh, the "1% def equals 2% res" thing is utter rubbish, and if you rely on it to know how your character plays, your going to die a lot.

    [/ QUOTE ] ^

Statisticaly, it's absolutly true (provided you adjust for the overlap, as I have done, when you have bth res and def), but if you refuse to accept mathematical truth, then it's unsuprising you don't get full performance out of you Invun tanker.

However, my main is an Ice tanker. I know how def works. Do I die a lot? No, hardly ever.

Now, the figures I calculated do not represent how an Invun tanker performs in actual play. For one, you rarely have 10 mobs in the aoe. Larger mobs won't physically fit. Then def is vunerable to debuffs, and hit buffs, add into that the tendancy of players to skip or underslot the passives, and you have your explanation of why people think Invun underperforms. Fortunatly, Castle is planning on making a few alterations to aleviate these issues.

Working please, because frankly from some 2500 hours of playing a invul tanker, i would massively doubt those figures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Base S/L resistance, 42.5% x 1.56 for SO slotting = 66.%

    Defense from invince, 10 mobs + Tough Hide = 26% x 1.56% for slotting = 40.56%, -5% for unyealding = 35.56%

Statistcally, 1% def is equivelent to 2% res, = 71.12%.

Combine with resistance, remembering to reduce the total, because an attack that has been defended against does not need to be resisted. 71.12 + 66.3x(100-71.12)/100 = 90.3%

If you are incapable of understanding why you cannot be literally invunerable in a MMO, then it is clearly a waste of energy trying to explain anything to you.

Ok, I have just calculated the combined effective damage mitigation from both res and def for invunerability, including SO slotting, not including unstoppable, IOs, or any pool powers and it comes out as:

S/L: 90.3% (it is possible to exceed the cap with both res and def)
    F/C/E/N/T: 79.15%
    Psi: -10%

Note that you do need to have 10 mobs in the AOE of Invincibility to achieve this level of protection, but that is due to change in issue 13, along with the -10% psi.

I was just comparing maximums. Elecs tier 9 has exactly the same recharge and a similar crash to Unstoppable.

    [ QUOTE ]
sometimes you are fighting for more than three minuets at a time?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You might if you have a self heal. the chances of a hypothetical electric tank suviving that long without a pet empath are minimal.

    Tanker powersets

    1) This is a game. Having one powerset that is designed to be better than the others is so clearly stupid I am amazed anyone could suggest it. For one, it makes the existance of any other powersets largely pointless. They might get used by a small numer of players for concept reasons, but they would find it very difficult to find a place on a team with a "weak" set.

    2) Not even Superman is completly invunerable. I seem to remember Doomsday beating him to death using entierly S/L damage, without a trace of kryptonite.

    3) Have you ever tried to smash a block of granite?

    4) You clearly woefully underestimate how effective Invun is, despite having played it. Maybe you need to look to your +def?
  12. PRAF68_EU

    Tanker powersets

    Ivun:

Unenhanced maximum 112.5% resistance to S/L, 82.5% resistance to F/C/E/N/P.

Elec, not available to tankers, brute gets maximum 78.8% resistance to most damage types. with tanker multipliers this would be higher than invun, but in practice they would be equal, since they would both hit the cap when slotted. But without any self heal, max hp buff, or +def, elec would be far far weaker, apart from vs psi damage, where elec is way ahead.
  13. Having done a techish booster, I would lay good odds on the next one being something magicish, either undead or wizards. Don't forget there is more to undead than zombies though.
  14. Grendel's Gulch is chock full of them.
  15. I never said I was faster than a fire/kin, but the difference isn't as great as people seem to think. If there are +3 bosses in the spawns, then yes, I am faster than a fire/kin.

It's possible I may have few purples slotted though.
  16. I just just kill one mob at a time very quickly (well not so quickly now).
  17. If you use mids, it will calculate the recharge on the fly. If recharge = duration, then your power is perma. You can turn on Hasten, and it will include it automatically in your calculations.
  18. Okton's answer appears pretty complete to me.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
I'm a bit surprised a Tank would have the damage output to solo an 8 man spawn of +2s/+3s quickly though to be honest.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The ET nerf has slowed me down a little. Prior to that I had been known to race fire/kins.
  20. I believe this is caused by the reordering of items in the costume menu. I usually find the reset button reverts my costume to the correct piece.
  21. But it is based around PvP. There and then it looses.
  22. It's a good idea, but the teleporter would probably get you devs-hate-villains feedback, since there are three Icon locations but only 2 Facemaker.
  23. Personally, I think Self Destruct would be better if it where interuptable. Not only would that solve the problem of exploding even when dead, it would give the user the option to abort if the situation changed.

As for the costume, it can look very good, or it can look very bad. Because it is so busy, it works better on larger, bulkier base models, and also with more subdued colours. Thus it works better on male and huge than female.

Try combining Cyborg Cable chest detail and shoulders, and cyborg gloves with a bare torso, for a true fusion of flesh and machine.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
there are very few players who can play as well as you can, with your understanding of the way the game works numerically. i did say youde have to be very good indeed and you fit that bill.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I'm not all that good at actually playing the game. Many players can solo 8 man missions on invincible. Hence all the fill requests you get.

    [ QUOTE ]
Although if any one char can quickly wipe an 8 player spawn isnt something a bit wrong with the game?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the game is too easy. Although AVs and certain mob types can still prove challenging. On the whole I just play harder ATs now.
  25. It looks like exoproto, because it is exoproto. And exoproto is available on all torso types.

Thier is no cyborg chest for anything, not male, not female, not huge.
