Other than that, those who know me on vent, im the easiest going, goofy, and fun-loving guy you'll ever meet...
Really enjoy playing with anyone who has reasonable ability at least. I dont get caught up picking & choosing cuz that just causes a clique that alienates everyone else... Really enjoy grabbing random peeps and try to make some magic happen. Led an all-range pug speed-ITF the other day and we just totally rocked it...

lol, i dunno.... i attended and enjoyed some of the misc events players & "committees" pushed out. And i unattended plenty i wasnt interested in. But its not like i didnt know what else to do with my time lol....
If there was an event i was interested in doing but i was left out (and sometimes i felt that way), by golly!, i think i'd do it on my own terms!
It reminds me of the times i was specifically declined multiple times to do Masters of the Statesman cuz a person thought i couldnt dualbox at that level he felt the MSTF needed. I felt really alienated and cast out because of him. Oh snap! I was THAT SCHMO!!!
Then i realized if i wanted to get something done MY WAY, i would have to do it then. I organized my own "Masters of" and successfully nailed a MSTF, MITF, and MKTF! It was a great "IN YOUR FACE!" moment for me. Right then, realized an individual has the power to organize anything if they had the strength, leadership, and determination to do it.
And the SCHMO becomes a SCHMO no more, but someone who everyone benefits from... -

yeah, the previous post was really from a neutral standpoint (with the exception to the bellyachers)
So interpret & misinterpret it in whatever way possible, cuz it was written that way. Whatever the case, some kind of gain is found in whatever way is is viewed - just wanted it out there...
Seems a fight against the established "clique", and a power struggle to create a power shift. Ironically, with all power shifts that idealism created, nothing fills that void except another power in time.
Honestly, i just dont really care about these trivialities at this point. Im happy to do my own thang and have enuf resources and willing peeps to do stuff with.
In the end, if peeps getting butthurt and upset about silly stuff, mebbe its time to step away from the game some and enjoy real life. Cuz at that point, it stopped being a game, a source of entertainment. And really, thats all this is.... (actually im being SERIOUS!) -

The answer is not to attempt to please all, cuz some may want your destruction! But do what you can in whatever way you can. Cuz some poor schmo is gonna be left out cuz he WANTED to be left out, but he's still gonna bellyache abou it. WHy? Refer to d & g....
What can that poor schmo do to right those wrong done upon him? RUn his own daggone show! Thats what. But quit the bellyaching & fussing for Pete's sakes lol. Offer up some constructive suggestions or run your own show. Dont need no one's permission or communal acknowledgement to do it. -
recently erased & consolidated down a crapload of defenders.... Think narrowed 30 something lv50 defenders down to 3 sets now. Got REALLY tired of getting confused with all the types of defenders lol.....

Actually, I never have gotten harassed for attacking too much on my Defenders barring on the MoLGTF in which there was little need other than my buffing for my Empath to sit and wait for heals on the Mo attempt. After mission 1 and War by himself, I sat back for War and Pest, I healed one person with heal other and topped off the rest of the group for that battle. After I said that I only healed twice, they were happy for my Psionic Tornadoes and Psychic Screams because my buffing was doing all my healing work.
This frustration is people's belief that defenders shouldn't attack. Sure, do what you need to do buff/debuff wise and then go to town. Sitting back and waiting for high recharges or awaiting the occasional spike is just silly. Sometimes your best defense is a good offense, why not use what you're given (or frankly since you picked the power set/AT what you chose) to its full potential instead of sitting about doing nothing.
As for calling me a "n00b" to Defenders, you're silly.
looking back on the history of the Defender forums, and all the PREVIOUS threads of players "bellyaching about enforcing THEIR ideals on others" i would classify as n00bs...
somehow, this must be of a different kind, though i swear this was a copy/paste job of another thread a year ago. Sorry to mistake you as one THOSE n00bs...
its ok to feel frustrated with others at times, but thats a personal problem. Deal with it yourself or confide with a friend. But for heaven's sakes, peeps gotta stop posting up these pitiful threads just seeking sympathy from others. Every other AT face their own pressures and expectations from other players - Tanks, damage-dealers, Controllers... the Defender class isnt the only ones. So this isnt unique and its not NOT universal. Find better coping methods... -

Even as a n00b, never got harassed about attacking too much. Mebbe cuz i took care of business first w/ the Primary powers, as expected by your teammates upon hire....
Take care of business w/ your primary powers first, get you name out there as a reliable defender, and you wont have issues no more - simple as that. Tired of n00bs complaining about AT expectations....
I mean.... COMEON! Those who have played with my twin defs know they can tank and blast, and usually more effective than those who fulfill those roles. But as a defender, i take pride in fulfilling my end of the bargain and maintain my teammates ice shields up and keeping them standing before i take an offensive role. Thats just being responsible with the AT you play... If you got that squared away, there wont be any complaints about you attacking -

The best defenders are the ones who use all of their powers available, combining both defense and offense....
Defenders are well-balanced overall, put 2 or more together, and their abilities multiply together, not add....
i'd like to think this notion is easily shown in every lousy video i post up infrequently lol

used to be that lackey - the copying/cleaning would get done, coffee would get random additional stuff in it till it wasnt requested anymore....
