2 accounts, and yes, one of the first things I did was PL a stone tanker into the 20s... I think she's all of level 33 after 2 1/2 years now.

I mostly use 2 accounts for influence transfers and solo SG management. I've done the level pact thing a few times, and I will rarely PL or attempt to play two accounts at once....

I don't craft generic IOs anymore, but what I used to do is craft level 35 defense IOs and level 35 heal and damage IOs. It's very easy to memorize a specific level recipe, and after that you just log in, grab salvage, craft, put 10 IOs up for sale and put in bids for the salvage needed for the next time. I liked the defense IOs because they would sell for 250,000 or more each... I'd normally list them for maybe 235,000. Damage and Heal IOs sell faster but for not quite as much profit. Anyway, very easy to do this kind of thing... it's a slow profit, only a million or two each time you log in, but it's steady and reliable.

I think Fulmens is on Victory, if I remember right. His standard offer is a 10% fee.

I have about 600 million influence on Victory right now so that's probably not enough. Anyway I'd charge the same 10%.

I made a banner... I tried to keep it small. I already think I don't like it, but I doubt I'm going to bother to fix it anytime soon. ^_^

I don't normally keep track of my characters except in my head. But I wanted to know how I was doing, so I wrote down the current wealth of each of my marketeers tonight.

A. I declared myself ebil in this thread on 7/1, so it's been just about 6 weeks.
B. At the time I had spent all the money that Mouse Police (Virtue) had, and discovered that I had something like 20 million or less left between all my Virtue characters (heroside). Most of my market characters on other servers had something short of 100 million each. My Virtue Villain had over 100 million, so she was my richest character.

As of tonight, I have:

Virtue (heroside): Mouse Police - 1 billion 344 million
Jalia Dragonfire - 366 million
Jennie Justice - 225 million
Shinobu Valentine - 80 million
Popeye Khan - 122 million
Shinobu Dragonheart - 82 million

Virtue (vside): Huntress Midnight - 366 million (has transferred 1.2 billion to heroside though)

Freedom Heroside: Sailor Shinobu - 615 million
Serpentine Fire - 385 million
Mouse Police - 458 million

Victory Heroside: Mouse Police - 600 million
Kung Fu Chelsea - 142 million

Infinity Heroside: Mouse Police - 373 million

(Most of these are my high level characters, but the last two are level 22 each. I'm especially proud of Mouse Police on Infinity because at 22 that's my highest level character, and I only have 30 salvage slots and 12 recipe slots. I've worked harder to make money there. ^_^ )

My goal is to have at least one billionaire hero and villainside on Virtue, and 1 each heroside on Freedom, Victory and Infinity. And in general make sure my characters can be nicely outfitted. So far so good. ^_^ I've even managed to outfit 4 or 5 of the above characters fully or partially with nice IO sets along the way, so I figure I've spent probably 500 to 600 million as well.

So... based on that, I'd estimate I had about 150 million total influence/infamy on Virtue on July 1st... maybe 250 million on Freedom, probably less than 100 million each on Victory and Liberty... so maybe 600 million influence/infamy to start with and now I've got something over 5 billion all told. ^_^

Well, I have a 50 katana, a 50 broadsword, a 50 fire melee. My next 50 scrapper will probably be my MA/Invul, who's 41 now. But I have at least 3 other MA scrappers in the 20-30 range, so I do have fun playing the set. ^_^ With power customization it'll be easier to justify having so many different MAs since I can make each one feel a bit different.

Like Fulmens I craft and sell mostly level 50 or top-tier set IOs. Sometimes I try to work with the healing IOs (Numina's, Miracle, Doctored Wounds) and sometimes I work with defense IOs (LoTG, Red Fortune) or Resist IOs (Aegis) but frankly I've been making the majority of my money on various damage IOs.

For Melee I'll do mostly Mako's or Crushing Impacts, or maybe Kinetic Combats or Touch of Death (although I find that IOs that cap out below level 50 are not only more scarce but also do not sell as quickly -- I think a lot of players simply never consider buying a level 35 or 40 IO set for their new level 50 character. On the flip side, they sell for a premium.)

For Ranged Damage, Thunderstrikes sell by the ton but only for a couple of million usually. Still, they're dirt cheap to buy and craft. They're like a step up from crafting generic IO's, you can make steady money with them as long as you don't list for too much money. For a lot of them I'll list for about 1.6 million and figure it'll sell for 2 mil or more. I've also been crafting and selling Devestation and Entropic Chaos, although again, the Entropic Chaos are level 35 cap and don't seem to sell as fast.

PBAoE: Scirroco's Dervish are my favorite niche right now. (I probably shouldn't say so, but eh.) Several of them can be had for hundreds of thousands and sell for upwards of 10 million a piece when crafted, simply because the supply of crafted IOs right now is low. Obliteration is another popular set but the recipes seem to sell for millions so I haven't tried crafting those yet. (As a general rule I only buy stuff that I can get for 500,000 or less per recipe.)

For Targeted AoE I buy and craft level 50 Positron's Blasts. I've had good success doing that.

I've also made a ton of money redside buying and crafting Defense IOs. Defense is popular all around these days, not only because of shield sets and Arachnos Soldiers. This is one area where I've blatantly violated my rule about not buying anything that doesn't sell cheaply -- I've bought LoTG: Defense IO recipes for upwards of 22 million a piece and then sold them for as much as 40 million or more after crafting. In general it seems much easier to make money redside though, to me anyway. ^_^

I'm not afraid to buy the lesser parts of a set that sell dirt cheap, because someone will always buy a crafted version for a million or three. You just have to be careful to list something lower than most of the other sellers, especially when there are a lot of them.

More than anything, you need to know what's popular and what isn't. After that it's hard to not make money. I'm not a marketing genius, I don't keep close track of trends or do spreadsheets or anything, and I've still made several billion across 10 or so characters over the last month.

It was... Xantos, I think is his name, with the yellowjacket-like costume/signature. I was able to help him. I matched your same 10% fee, but I didn't have to worry about the extra 10% for market transferring.

I offered to help someone else on Virtue for the same fee for a lesser sum... they haven't contacted me in-game yet but we agreed to do it here on the forums.

I play mostly on Virtue, Freedom, and Victory, and I have a marketing toon on Infinity too.

My Virtue Villain was down to 30-some million plus some stuff up for sale after that 1 billion transfer, I'm not back up over 500 million. ^_^

I guess at this point I'm rich, by most people's standards, but I still don't feel rich. I think I'll feel rich when I can pick up a full purple set for a given character and not have it take most of the money I have, or at least all I have on my main toon for that server.

But I certainly feel well-to-do. I was able to *mostly* outfit one of my newer toons this weekend... still waiting on some bids, but I spent several hundred million I think. No purples, but some expensive IOs otherwise. That made a bit of a dent in my richest character, between that and a few other things I dropped from nearly 1.6 billion to almost not being a billionaire anymore. ^_^

My goal is to have a billionaire on every server/market I play on -- Freedom Heroes, Virtue Heroes & Villains, Victory Heroes, and also Infinity Heroes even though I hardly play there.

On the one hand, I don't think most of my costumes are overly creative, they're just what I happen to like. Also since these are some of my highest level characters I have auras and special costume parts and you'll almost certainly be unable to upload any of these to a brand new character because of that.

On the other hand, it's pretty neat that you can pass around "costume builds" at all, and even if you can't fully load the costume you get to see it in the character creator, and that's pretty neat in and of itself. So what the heck, here are some of mine that I like:

I think you answered your own question. Blasters, controllers, etc can soft-cap or come close to soft-capped defenses. Do you really want people to be able to slot heavily for both defense and resist?
