She means a fix for the "double experience" AE problem that exists currently. >.>

Bumping your thread because it's cool.
Also just to note, I was inspired to offer something similar to new players in my SG (which is a large coalition of 10 or so SGs, lots of newer players out there. I'm forcing them to sign up for our message board and post there before I send 'em money, though. ^_^ ) -

If this were some sort of fantasy or anime universe he would be one of the Seven Legendary Forumites.
I think that Zombie Man is the legendary master of guides... possibly Smurphy as legendary master of marketing... maybe nominate Steelclaw as legendary master of silliness... and I'm quite sure UniqueDragon was the legendary master of confused dire warnings. -

Expedient Reinforcement resist bonus aura for pets for 7.5 million
Stupefy acc/stun/rech for 9 million
Money: 1,003,059,264 influence
So at this point I have hit a billion influence. I started with 50 million influence, and I've made 14 a-merit rolls total. I'll make another tonight at 10 PM, 2nd of the day. The stuff I still have for sale is listed for a combined 110 million influence.
So extrapolating a bit... 15 a-merits, halfway to one of the valuable PvP IOs, should net me about 1.2 billion. 30 merits should get me over 2 billion... but by how much?
I could have bout 7 LotG +7.5% recharges by now. Those are still selling for ~ 150 million crafted. 7 x 150 = 1050 million, but you'd have to subtract crafting and listing fees. I think I'm already ahead of that game.
Miracle +recovery's are selling for about the same. Numina's are only about 50 million for whatever reason.
A Gladiator's Armor +resistance to teleportation, +3% defense IO is 30 a-merits. Those are still selling off-market for well over 2 billion, I believe. More and more, I'm convinced that would be the way to go. Certainly it would be easier than all this crafting and listing every day. -

Normally I'd give a generic answer. Lately it's been "500 to 700 million on all of my marketing characters." But let's be specific:
Shinobu Account
Virtue
Mouse Police (50 katana/regen scrapper = 600 million (640 merits)
Shinobu Dragonheart (50 MA/Invul scrapper = 679 million
Huntress Midnight (50 DM/EA brute = 657 million
Serpentine-Fire (50 fire/fire blaster = 904 million (e-mails 200 million to Wall Street Brawler) Make that 704 million! (Sheesh people, you log on and The Market global channel message says to buy endmod recipes and yet I MADE 200 MILLION INFLUENCE OVERNIGHT ON PERFORMANCE SHIFTER AND EFFICACY ADAPTOR IOS)
Valkyrie of Atlantis (50 broadsword/shield scrapper) = 456 million (199 merits)
(non-50 marketers)
Holy Bell (41 PB) = 602 million
Popeye Khan (43 fire/invul tank = 674 million
Valentine Candy (46 arrow/dark defender = 296 million (151 merits)
Organica (48 katana/regen scrapper) = 268 million (166 merits)
Victory
Mouse Police (50 fire/SR scrapper) = 700 million
Freedom
Black Unicorn (50 fire armor/axe tanker = 538 million
Mouse Police (44 ice/ice blaster) = 724 million
Shinobu Valentine Account
Virtue
Sailor Shinobu (50 Invul/EM tank) = 618 million (92 merits)
Tiffany Blackheart (50 MA/WP scrapper) = 289 million (1187 merits)
Nina Ballerina (50 MA/WP scrapper) = 980 million (598 merits)
Shinobu Valentine (50 illusion/rad troller) = 747 million
Sparks Fly (50 EM/Shield scrapper = 562 million
Squiddy Kitty (50 fully purpled WS = 386 million
Bubble Girl Six (49 force field/dark defender) = 598 million

Freedom
Jalia (50 MA/WP scrapper = 647 million
Justice
Maiden Knight (50 broadsword/regen scrapper) = 256 million
Hmmmm.... I think that adds up to 12.5 billion. I have a lot more money than I thought I did. -
Ladies and Gentlemen, for your reading pleasure, I present!
Been reading through the Rude Tells thread in Player Questions, from the very beginning (off and on over the last few days). I'm up to page 30 and I find this gem:

Every time I log on I get tells from people pharming for SG members, thist was just the latest:
SG Pharmer: Hi... Lookin for an SG?
Me: No, I am not, have one, Thanks.
SG Pharmer: do u enjoy teamspeak? forums? does your guild offer u that now?
Me: My SG does non of that, and you couldn't pay me to leave.
SG Pharmer: not trying to pay you... and never would. simply offering u something that your current SG does not offer.
SG Pharmer: without being adversarial.... may i ask why you would stay with something inferior?
Me: Our definition of inferior is subject to interpritation. I team with my SG regularly, on several servers. And I do not just randomly join any SG.
SG Pharmer: not asking u to randomly join. feel free to ask anything u wish.
Me: I have no questions for you, thanks.
SG Pharmer: we have 11 bases.... all with full teleporter capability. we also use teamspeak nightly. we have very nice forums and an award winning website... also the sexiest sg leader known to main
Me: umm... no.
SG Pharmer: unfortunate for u
Yes deriding my SG is the perfect way to get me to defect to yours, and I find no compelling reason to justify why I would stay in my SG.

This didn't happen on Champion, did it... ?
Sounds very familiar to a particular SG's recruiting tactics when they're not just spamming blind invites in Atlas.
And on page 31:

"Does your wonderful SG also have a supply of the letters 'Y' and 'O' on hand?"
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, I'll have to remember that one, just to see the long pause ..... o.O
Ask them if that's why they are recruiting, because they need mine.

Why yes, it was.

Heh. I knew exactly which SG it was, even before someone asked about the server... -
Mostly I haven't had problems, but Wall Street Brawler has a whole bunch of shield breaker IOs (don't remember which specific ones) that have mostly not been selling for 3 weeks or so. Mind you, I knew it wasn't a high turnover item... but it's not turning at all for me at the moment.
All of my other niches are more or less fine. Reactive Armor: resist, for example, goes up and down but mine eventually sell. I think I have a few of those Reactive Armor res/end hanging around, and a few Impervium Armor res/end too I think, but nothing taking up too many slots. -
When everyone becomes Ebil, then only the Ebil will have influence... er... something like that.
Congrats! ^_^ -
As I commented over the weekend, this is the kind of supergroup where you can have nearly 6 million prestige next to your name (which I do) and feel like it's a very small amount... I don't think I even rank in the top ten.
-
Very cool contest. I'm kinda torn... as a successful marketeer, I'd feel that other people deserve (or can use) the prize more than I do anyway, but then it sounds like it'd be a lot of fun just to enter regardless. But I'd have to transfer my main (Mouse Police) and that would potentially be even more costly since I have a level 34 Mouse Police on Justice already (the original Mouse that I created in 2004 in fact). I'd have to move or change the name of that Mouse Police, then move my main, then save the name on Virtue for when I move back... kind of a headache all around.
Alternately I could enter one of my other favorite scrappers -- Tiffany Blackheart, Shinobu Dragonheart, or Nina Ballerina, all of whom I play a lot and all of whom have better bios than Mouse anyway. ^_^ And all of whom I'd have few problems with potential name conflicts with anyone else.
I do have a level 50 scrapper on Justice, but I'd need to come up with a good bio for her first of all, and I don't actually play her that much. I don't play any of my non-Virtue toons that much these days.
But anyway, sounds like a very fun contest. -
Quote:Well that's fair. And I have yet to feel that I so desperately need one of these IOs that I'll spend over 2 billion on it.Also I already have, i waited and brought it for 2bill, slotted it in my char and it didn't really make much difference so for 2bill I thought no way was i wasting that amount so respecced it out and sold it for 2bil.
Well, actually, I did strike a deal with someone for some amount over 2 billion a while back, but when it came time to make the deal he suddenly cancelled the trade and said he'd been offered more by someone else. That might have been true, but I felt like he was trying to play me so I didn't offer up anything more than what we'd previously agreed on.
Since that point I haven't been tempted to buy one off-market. But if I do decide to buy one, I"ll either buy it with a-merits or ante up to buy it off market, because I don't have faith that a market bid would fill in less than half a year. I have plenty of money and I don't have time to wait that long -- I might not even be playing half a year from now, who knows? If I can get it now, I don't care that I'm paying more than some arbitrary cap or ceiling that is only set by accident in any case. Just like when it was impossible to transfer more than 9,999 influence in a single trade, I didn't believe that trading more than that was somehow wrong or being greedy. -
Nov 13 (11th Merit Purchase)
SOLD:
Performance Shifter rech/acc for 10 million
GIft of the Ancients Defense/increased run speed for 10 million
Devestation dam/rech for 12 million
Decimation acc/dam/rech for 17,777,777
Money: 714,882,048
Hero Merit Purchase: 20,000,000 (level 35-39 roll)
Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Contrl rech/end reduction listed for 32.5 million
Impervium Armor +Psionic Resist listed fof 16.1 million
Miracle +Recovery listed for 101 million
Lockdown Chance for +2 Mag Hold 5.3 million
Stupefy acc/stun/rech 7,000,001
Ending Money: 677,142,996
Ran: Freakshow Wars again
SOLD (By midnight):
Miracle +Recovery for 150 million
Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Contrl rech/end reduction for 35 million
Stupefy acc/stun/rech for 12 million
Impervium Armor psionic resistance for 20 million
Money: 881,093,256 and Peddler badge
Of note: My first Miracle +recovery was listed for 143 million and sold for 150 million, the price I wanted. But it took time to sell. This time there were a lot of previous sales in the 111 million to 120 million range, and without thinking too hard I listed for 101 million. Afterwards I realized that this was a very low listing -- but it still sold for 150 million, and very quickly too.
On the other hand, I listed my Gaussian's for 32.5 million hoping for a 50 million purchase (some were selling in that range) but instead someone bid carefully and got it for just slightly over my listing price.
Then again, my Stupefy was listed for 1 influence over 7 million and sold for 12 mil. And I bet some people wouldn't have even tried to sell that, but I checked and saw it was going for decent money. ^_^ Just goes to show though, you never know what people are going to bid. -
Quote:So if I wanted one of these PvP IOs, by your rules I should just put in my 2 billion bid, get in line, and hope that someday God (or RNG) will shine a light on me and my bid will actually fill?I regard anything as "silly" when it breaks the game code, 2bil is highest amount you can bid in game, 2bil is as much as a char can hold in game anything more than that is just "silly" (or greedy as the more unfriendlier term).
(NOTE: I did have a 2 billion bid for the +3%def PvP IO for 3-4 months. It was never going to fill.)
What you're advocating for sounds like a Communist system: everybody get in line, hope you get lucky. What the players have opted for is a Capitalist system: if you can offer me more than I can get on the market, then we have a deal.
But if you happen across one of these PvP IOs yourself and want to sell it, I suppose you'd sell it through the market on principal? -
-
Quote:Well, as I pointed out earlier I'm waiting about a day for stuff to sell before I post. Stuff that hasn't sold in a day is probably listed a bit high, so it'd be hard to flip.Organica, I am most intrigued by your posting your asking prices. It's a nice touch, and that way if someone here wants to buy it (to use OR to flip) they can.
On the other hand, now I can list mine at 1 inf cheaper than yours... j/k. Setting sell prices in this game is an art and one of the more entertaining aspects of the marketplace, imo.
But one of the reasons I'm doing that is just to show how I list things for sale. As you said, setting prices is an art. Hopefully I'm doing a good job of it and a new player could learn something from what I post. (Or when I do a bad job of it -- they can also learn!) -

I do find it interesting that selling on the market is "playing the market minigame" but buying from the market isn't?
When I said you could bypass it entirely, I didn't mean grinding to get 2 billion influence so you could buy from the market. I mean that you can purchase with merits and a-merits and mostly get your salvage with tickets, if you so desired. You don't have to ever set foot in Wentworth's if you don't want to.
But as for the lack of influence sinks... most people on the Market forums would agree with that , I think. -
+ points for appropriate picture. Welcome to the club! You get the extra-special gold pass that... well, I'm not sure what it does, but here's one anyway.
-
I'd agree with most of that, but of course any valuable drops you get sell for the inflated prices too. Depending on whether you count crafting/selling drops as "playing the minigame", it may not be as daunting as all that. Also, it's possible to bypass the market (nearly) entirely, though that will also involve a significant time investment.

Quote:On Virtue I have the luxury of a very large base that I built myself over several years with 9 enhancement tables for storage. I have a LOT of stuff in storage. ^_^ When marketeers here talk about having 20 billion, 30, 40 billion influence, I always think to myself, "I'm not as rich as that," but realistically I have a lot of wealth sunk into the 800-900 IOs I have stored.I suggest making your own base and buying enhancement tables. 1 table holds 100 IOs.
1 table is enough for marketing while the other tables contain stuff to IO my toons with once they hit 50. The highest amount of IOs in the market table was around 60. On average, there's about 20 IOs ready to be sold. I craft around 10-20 a day.
I also have a base I inherited on Freedom with 4 tables for enhancement storage. -
Gonna list tonight's roll because the good stuff has already sold.
