And I can attest that the 4850 on Windows 7 and a quad core processor can run COH at max settings with very good framerates! I don't know how it will act with GR obviously, but I know it can definitely make this game look much more amazing than you've been seeing it!

That was my thought process. I mean, to see how the AT's compare, it would be good to judge their ability to melt through different masses of foes. I don't see it as much of a challenge or test if it's just "stealth, TP, debuff, kill"

But again, just my opinion! However, if you DO decide to run all fighting or at least abridged versions of TF's, I have a Defender or a Troller I can volunteer for this. I just personally hate speed runs. I like getting dirty in my TF's! :-)

You would also want to make sure you notate if speed runs and stealthing are legit, or if you want a full on fighting TF each time. I know time wise that makes a lot of them longer, but if you're doing a contest to see who is better, my opinion would be to actually fight through it all. That requires honesty from both teams obviously, but if they know it going in, I don't think it would be that much hassle.

Actually, I think it's issue 24... they're going to release 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 & 23 over the next 7 days and then BAM.... Issue 24 on next Wednesday. Just to overload everyone who has been dying for something new! And to laugh when the servers explode and they've made the entire playerbase cry for days.

I hope it's not the old style invasion... Only because my new computer isn't ready yet and I would want to experience that in style!

There was actually snow in Ocala... we had a little frost here in st pete for about 10 minutes.... but yeah, the 30's are not my friend! Either snow, or be beach weather. Not this crap in between!

So, what I'm curious about, after watching the spread at Hero-con again.... They said you would be able to start in Praetoria neither as a hero, nor a villian. During the tutorial you make a choice of which side to start aligning with... So, if I'm creating a toon, and I can't pick hero or villian, what are my power choices going to be? Will I be able to pick Brute stats and powers, or Tank stats and powers? Or Corrupters vs Defenders/Blasters? Just something that made me start going "hmmmmmm" after watching.

That's what I'm hoping! Even though the Asus system died after a day, I was getting an average 80 fps all night playing... and the ATI Radeon hooked up through the HDMI on my TV made the game look like a Blu - Ray!

I already went ahead and cancelled the other order before it was too late... Thanks for the help HB! I was feeling unsure on my choice and I feel better now for changing it! I knew I loved these boards for a reason!

Yeah, I currently have an ATI card on my Dell that I've learned how to mess around with after four years of playing CoH! heh

I think I could stomach the occasional hiccup for a little bit until I bought more RAM.... As long as I got more than 15 fps, it would still be a massive improvement over my current gameplay. lol

I was also concerned about the motherboard but couldn't seem to get what I wanted on any of the other configurators without going over my budget. But, I might just have to deal with it to avoid problems and get something a little more future handy....

As for the power supply, I went higher because it was the same price as the 550 and gave me wiggle room in case I wanted to add more down the line. Not that I'm really likely to, but I didn't want to have to mess with replacing a power supply again if I didn't need to!

I think I might shift over to the one you've suggested with a couple of changes to lessen the hit of my budget! If I did that, I would go down to 2G memory for now, and add more in a few months when I had some money, and probably take the 320GB HD.

If I went down to 2GB RAM on that, would I have an unwanted drop in performance? The only intense thing I do is play COH and watch movies online.

The last time I did this TF was on my new gaming beast that died after a day. lol

Playing it on the laptop should be a much sadder experience.... but still one I look forward too! See you guys on Monday!

So last week I randomly bought an ASUS computer from BestBuy. I also bought an ATI HD 4850 and a new power supply to support it and created a makeshift gaming rig on an impulse... while it worked and played fantastically at full settings, the computer refused to work by the next day...

I went basic because I have a keyboard and mouse and I use my TV for a monitor. I'm upgrading to this after years of gaming on my Dell Dimension 3100... so pretty much anything is an improvement for me!

Can anyone give me feedback on my choices or anything you would change? I left price up there because that was my max budget to work with.... I wanted something that could play full settings now and possibly full on GR whenever it comes out.... I figure from what I've read up on the parts I've picked, that this should play pretty well as of now. But, I'm not a builder and not a massive tech head and would greatly appreciate any feedback available!

Project Willow is a DB/WP Scrapper. It should be interesting to start with Posi on her since she's 37 now.... I'll probably cry the first mission when I lose all the fun powers! lol

Just kidding! I'm in the game right now and peeing my frickin pants at how AWESOME this game looks with everything on max! I think I've died and gone to gamer heaven.... That's the only way this could be real!
