  1. Aptly, this was what won. The dancing lark isn't my cup of tea really, but I can appreciate the irony and the song. Also, more worrying, was the "I've run out of coke, so I'm onto the neat bacardi" comment.
  2. Yeah, I think I underestimated how much we normally rely on phase shift to split the AVs out - I hadn't thought the no temp power thing would be a big issue. We did have one extremely close call there.

Once we realised that we needed to drag them much further back in order to not get the lot, it went fine from there on in - actually after the initial (fairly long) faff about the rest of the last mission was really quite easy.

Next time, I'll be using Buffem (my kin/rad) for badge 'hoage. Although if the temptation to use Total Focus on Prima Donna was hard work to resist, playing Buffem and not nuking may actually kill me.
  3. Thanks for a very fun evening. Well played everyone. Probably wasn't a "perfect" team mix, but it was enough to do the job!

Particularly nice to see a scrapper pick up the badge.

  4. Mostly I think just slowly and carefully should do it. Few things to bear in mind though:

    1. Most of the team will be on teamspeak, but we've one or two who won't, so please do allow me time for typing!

    2. Turn up with the essentials. A full set of inspirations, at least one cape, mince pies, and your tipple of choice.

    3. Please have all your accolades handy - especially the Elusive Mind one.

    4. Swampy will be tanking and will take the team. Please everyone keep the map open and keep an eye on where (s)he's going. Check his pockets at the start of each mission to make sure he's not sneaked an extra Bacardi flask in with him!

    5. We'll take one or two short breaks between missions, to try to minimise afk time during missions without it feeling like hard work!

If it all goes horribly wrong and someone dies, I don't want anyone to feel bad or not enjoy the evening anyway. If we lose someone early on, I'd probably look to restart, if we're a good way through we'll just finish it and try again another day. While I'd like to do it on the first attempt and intend to have a bloody good go, as long as we give it our best shot and everyone enjoys themselves, I'll be a happy Wyxie.
  5. Great, will be good to team with you again!

Our TS password has changed, I'll drop you a message with the new one.

    That's a full team.
  6. I'm counting on Mother's Love to save me if you have any moments of weakness.

Still in need of one controller.
  7. Title says most of it already. My SG (with a couple of friends) will be running this on Saturday evening. Due to a tragic incident with a monitor going boom we're one person short.

I'm looking for a controller with any secondary other than kinetics who would like to join us for an evening of fun, bashing, and probably the only time ever Ohms and I will not be trying to get each other killed.

If it's someone who can use teamspeak, that would be ideal.

Please send me a PM or reply here if you'd like to join us.
  8. Don't forget to change your bog standard boring sword for a glowy red and black one, kill your enemies while they look at it and go "ooooo".

That's my plan anyway. Don't see how it could fail.

However, I have seen it been used (by Alvan mostly )

I believe he has it as part of his main attack chain.

Edit: I've got it on my fire blaster too - like most others I took it as a last power because it does look very pwetty, but preferred to take stuff to keep me alive before then. I plan to do the same on my brute.
  10. Totally off topic, but Sir Clanksalot is a great name for a character.

I could make Sunday 11:30, definitely not Friday 5:00 though. Even if I wasn't going out, I'd still be in work!

If you decide to do this Sunday afternoon, I've a level 50 Ice/Thermal, Chocolate Fireguard, who would probably be interested in giving it a go. Out on Friday night though.

Edited to add: I also have a Rad/Cold Corruptor, Peppermint Cream, who will be level 45/46, which I'd be happy to run it with if you thought it would be more useful, but I'd be inclined to think a level 50 would be better.

    What aggro cap?

I agree tbat decent teams need a challenge. Not to be able to herd whole maps with complete ease like used to be possible, it was dull for most of the team, just something that provides a challenge.

I love playing in good teams, but I'd like things to be harder on the highest settings. The difference between what a pick up team of inexperienced players with weak builds and little communication, and what an experienced team with good builds, complimentary characters and decent communication can do, is far far wider than the difference between heroic/villainous and invincible/relentless.
