  1. I'd say Scrappers, Stalkers and Brutes (in no particular order) are what I see the most of in zones, followed by Controllers, Tankers, Corruptors, Masterminds and Blasters (again in no particular order). Dominators and Defenders next, and Kheldians extremely rarely.

It's and old guide and based on someone's experience on one (or possibly more) of the US servers however, so there's bound to be differences.
  2. If you're interested in the debuff side then Irradiate is more use to you than Electron Haze as is has a stomping (~37% I believe I can't remember the exact figure off the top of my head) defence debuff on it compared to most of the rest of the set (Cosmic Burst's is also quite good).

People advocate Neutrino Bolt as the best thing since slice bread because it's DoT if you keep spamming it is alright, despite being a very low damage attack. I would say it depends how much you're in a situation where you're repeatedly spamming your lowest damage attack as to how useful it is. I personally use it very little on my Kin, although obviously I'm stacking up my own recharge on my better attacks to a larger degree than you can on rad.
  3. That made for some interesting reading.
  4. Generally I find rep gain quickest playing solo, or in a 2-3 person team. Larger teams don't necessarily equate to more rep. Also, you gain more rep if you zone hop because you don't constantly find yourself going against the same people.

Certain character types have no need to team in SC and RV, and will probably gain more rep not teaming in certain circumstances. Defiance using blasters (especially with invis) or stalkers can do better for themselves from a rep point of view trailing a team and just coming out to hit stuff that's on low-mid health when it's already been pretty much incapacitated. Their burst damage output is going to give them a good chance at least of getting the last shot. You do see a few people doing this with no interest in teaming at all. I tend to just move away and leave them to fend for themselves, there's nothing to stop them doing it, but I find it a bit cheeky - particularly when they turn round and ask to be buffed.

    Blaster for PVP

    Or team with a Kinetic.
  6. Shriek, Scream, Shout and Howl are great, take the aim varient as well to boost your damage, and Hasten, and you've got a full attack chain there. Given how much good stuff is in the primary, and all the stacking -res, I don't know that I feel I need more attacks than that.

I would not take kick from the fitness pool, it's got a long animation and it's not very good, and nothing else in the pool is of a great deal of use to you. If I were going to take any attack from the pool powers ever (and I do occasionally, although I didn't feel it was necessary on my rad/sonic) I'd take Air Superiority as it has a reasonably quick animation, quick recharge, and it does knockdown, which can be very useful.
  7. Was fun again, not quite as busy this week which was a shame, but still fun none the less.

    RV tonight?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Twist my arm.

Can't get on our forums in work today, but should be home half seven ish again, traffic permitting of course. I'm betting I'll be able to hold off falling asleep with my face on the keyboard until at least quarter to eight.

    Catch you later.

    More Villains!!

2: Why does CoV lack more than CoH??

    Framerate, among other things.

And yes, RV is Recluse's Victory.

    More Villains!!

It didn't feel unbalanced to me either. In fact if anything from my point of view I'd thought the heroes were winning (PvP wise, not zone wise, didn't even go there though, no way in a three person all squishy team I was even going to try messing about with pillboxes).

    Corr VS Def

In a very general sense from someone who plays predominantly heroes and doesn't have a corruptor over level 40. I find corruptors mcuh more versatile at lower level just simply because the inherrant is so much better. I get the feeling things really even out once you take the epics into account.
  12. Buffem and Run told me she quite enjoyed that, although some of the bad people were scarey, so she shut her eyes when there were too many of them.

Lag was interesting for a while, had a few "Oh great, I'm firing IR and I have my foot stuck on a fence" moments, but it was mostly manageable. An enjoyable evening.

c'mon, that's just being greedy, surely?

Any chance you'd post your build? I'd love to see what a tricked out build actually looks like.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They're all in the secondary, ancillary pool, and one in Tactics. There's simply nothing in the primary at all that would benefit from a HO - the only thing it'll take and use both aspects of is going to include endurance reduction, and I don't need them. The only thing that questionably needs end reducers in the build I have is Tactics, Temp Invul (both have a single HO in) and Assault.

My build is a bit wierd because I've built it for a couple of fairly specific uses now, but if I get a moment I'll pop it in Hero Builder. Don't have time now.

You are aware you are talking about a grand total of two slots, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could you run me through some primary school subtraction? I must have been asleep that day.

I personally don't want to cater for especially weak builds. Noone I regularly team with has endurance issues at all when I'm teaming with them, therefore it would just be a waste of slots if I added something in my build that did nothing of benefit on my character.

In addition while I've got probably over 20 HOs on my Kinetic now, I could still, realistically, use a couple more slots to get more from her. While I find her easier to slot than some builds, I find there's always room for manouvre.

As previously stated, I think it's a matter of personal preference as to what you want to cater for.

I have considered adding run speed into speed boost in the past - mostly for PvP - but I don't have the slots. If only you could add flight speed in there, I'd definitely find them from somewhere.

    HO Swap

Cool, I'll drop you a tell next time I'm ingame to sort that.
  16. It does on builds that are very poor endurance wise. Anyone with even a moderately sensible build endurance wise will not benefit from it, I prefer not to slot to accomodate people who make a complete mess of their own characters at the expense of functionality on my own. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.
  17. My Fire/Kin is an endurance eating monster. I cannot imagine trying to run her without stamina.

    HO Swap

If you want to swap that for a Dam/Mez Duckdee, I could use it.
  19. While it's not how I'd build build, I do think that'll work pretty well, certainly from an endurance drain point of view it'll be a very effective sapper, good for team support, and a workable soloer.

The only suggestions I would make on totally wasted slots are the two accuracies in Short Circuit, and in Zapp. Both these powers have very high accuracy anyway, they are also powers that are likely to be combined with aim.

Zapp, I would simply remove the slots and put a couple of recharges in different attacks (or Transfusion, I'd definitely want a sixth slot for recharge in that). Short circuit I'd replace the accuracies with recharge in that attack. In order to keep you enemies drained you need the -endurance regen element of short circuit available often, in addition to the actual drain element of that and your other powers.

I would suggest taking pretty much anything other than repel at 49 - it will interfere with your other powers in addition to being not a lot of use and running down your endurance.

Edit: For typos, I imagine there are more, trying to type on a very temparamental laptop keyboard at the moment, not altogether sucessfully.

    HO Swap

    I have a dam/mez.

Open to offers (trade only, don't want to sell, @OVWyx).
  21. If you do this again on a Thursday I'll make an effort to bring a small team along hero side.

I did stick my head in there very briefly last night while eating dinner with a view to maybe a 15 minutes bash, but the heroes were pretty much pinned in base at that stage and after pulling a 14 hour day, my enthusiasm for trying to organise a team was extremely limited.

Be good to see it happen again though, with a bit more notice could have been fun.

If the event is to take place in a PvP zone, you should also take into account the fact that other players may be using the zone, and it's perfectly reasonable for players in a PvP zone to engage other players they encounter in PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I dont know should the RV AV hunts be declared a special case or not. It takes multiple teams of people on one side to even attempt beating the AVs, and on the other side all the opposing side needs to do is gain control of one pillbox (can do it easily solo) and the AVs will despawn and the beating AVs is foiled. And you got an awful lot of angry people on one side.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't see why. When organising an event in a PvP zone one of the things you need to cater for is the "locals". The last time I did this we had two teams in the zone, we had to break off and deal with villains a couple of times as there were a reasonable number of villains in the zone initially, but mostly it was kept contained - also no abuse at all - certainly if it had degenerated like that I'd have booted the people concerned from the team instantly.

Everyone got their badges, most people on more than one character, in addition to which it was quite good fun. Just because someone wants a badge, people using the zone for its intended and advertised purpose shouldn't have to bend over backwards. If a couple of teams can't deal with one or two people trying to take pillboxes in there, they don't deserve the badges anyway in my opinion.

Edited to add: Although the post was moderated before I had chance to reply, without naming any names or otherwise calling down the wrath of people with the big delete button, I have to comment on my amusement at someone posting a screenshot of their own character abusing people on broadcast.

    Team Squishy

    [ QUOTE ]
Who says you need a tanker or scrapper in your team to do stuff? Anyone else had any experiences of a full team of squishies?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Frequently. They're fun, and normally fast paced.

As long as you've a basic idea of who's leading and who's managing aggro, they work extremely well.
  24. Generally, Thursdays are relatively good for me, if you decide to do this regularly on the live servers I would definitely enjoy it.

Tomorrow, sadly, is not at all good for me.

    Maybe another time.
