First off, you are not worthless as an artist. From what I have seen you have improved nicely. Second, you work for acorns and nuts. That's a real nice price for a commissioned piece. Just keep at it.

Very nice. I like your mesh. I know what you mean though. I don't even pencil mesh any more. I just wait until I go to ink. It's hard for me to get the mesh to look right freehand. Really nice work.

Some day I am going to have to pick a character and take you up on this. Your work is just too good to pass up on.

I just like playing with you. In all seriousness I am planning on focusing on pieces for friends and SG members after this piece is done, then possibly spread out like an infection to the rest of the CoHV community.

First off, you have a Nym original. Sure, it looks like crap, but you have one. Second, I am highly unlikely (accidents do happen) to use that pose again. Maybe something similar. Third, I have a few things that will be keeping me busy for a while so even if I did promise to do it, there's a possibility it would be the holiday season before I could start on anything other than loose sketches.

That being said, I really enjoyed the critiquing service and will recommend it to all my friends. Just as soon as I make some. I'm not done with this picture yet, and any critiques on the most recent image are still appreciated. Soon I'll start the inking process. It takes me forever to ink since that is when I actually add most of my line variations and details.

That is simply amazing. I'm not sure there is much more I could say than that. Wow! I really love this piece. Truly great.

Main thing I would probably do is turn the sword some more so the flat of the blad lies flat against the shoulders. Right now the blade would be cutting in unless she can't be hurt by it. Even then it's likeley to be uncomfortable on a focused point like that.

That is cool. It flows pretty well.

You could always use it to selectively obscure areas since the mist seems to want to do that anyways. I like the basic idea. Maybe a little patchiness to the mist will help.

Nymie, I've done as you've asked and looked at the picture with a critical eye. I believe that I have found something "off". This picture is reminiscient of the poster from the movie "Striptease", and I think it's a good concept. However, I think that you've made the girl's torso too long just so you could show her breasts. If she had a wider torso, in relation to the length of it, it would work. It just appears that she does not have enough mass to her to wrap around her leg to grab her other ankle, not without seriously hunching her body further and blocking her breasts.

Take a look at this picture from the movie and see my point, I hope. example

That's just my two cents, take it to heart or don't. But overall, this is a very nice piece. Keep up the good work.

Yep. That was intended to be a split skirt. I'm glad it was half-way recognizable.

Here is a new picture taking some things into consideration. I had indeed stretched her quite a bit. My intent wasn't to show her chest, but it just happened in the transfering from the thumbnail I did playing around with poses. She's not as bent over as the poster you showed, but she was still too stretched none the less. In this picture I have shortened her torso and arms as well as the leg that sticks out to the side.

I like the idea of tipping the hat up. The bucckle won't be showing, but since she has them on her kneck, wrists, and ankles it may be a bit much anyways. I will grab the foot later.

I darkened it quite a bit since the pencils are pretty light

Went back and darkened the lines up. Just click on the link in the OP. I looks even worse with the jagged underlines still there, but may give a better idea.

I started work on a picture for a friend. I put the WIP up on the supergroup website and got "Nice work', and the typical "Can I have your baby?" responses. There are some things bothering me about the piece so far. I require help in tearing it apart and finding the problems. I know a few, but some of those I'm not even sure how I'm going to fix yet. Feel free to mark on the picture or just describe the problems you are seeing. Thank you for taking the time to help me out.

WIP - Pencils

It should work. As long as the poster says they are looking for critiques. If there is no metion of wanting critiques, then don't hack it to bits with the red pen. The original is still left untouched, so that's not a huge deal as far as that goes. Just need to make certain that the person isn't just sharing.

I stole it from Miss Kitty fair and square. You can't have it.
