Looking forward to it, and I am happy to lead a team again...
-
thanks to @Afro Poptart for stopping by.
Sadly no speed records were broken, and some weird base glitch zapped him back to the entrance while in the middle of the fourth floor.
But still much fun was had.
Perhaps the maze has a ghost? -
I wish I could cheer you up...
but the two hours of hot fix are now well past the third...
I too am sad, and bored. But I'm not sad or bored enough to shovel the snow, hell no.
I only wish I had ice cream.
on a side note...how can a server status be 'unknown'? It's either up or down, there is no middle ground. I laugh whenever I see that, and cry a little. -
Quote:I completely agree with Kat.I think the idea is to have something like this alongside bases...
To that end, I would say scrap the "secret lair" part, and just make the link to an SG that the toon belongs to.
While we do want people to get involved in the creative process of building, we also want people to join SG's, not alienate themselves from them. SG's need to be made viable again.
To make the personal apartment appealing, include the costume & trophy display, and I think one salvage rack could be allowed there... but no enhancies, crafting, or TPs.

I am not opposed to a 'start from scratch' overhaul of the base system, lord knows it needs it.
But after the hundreds of hours I have spent creating the base I want, I would expect any new system that forces me to lose all that work and start over to be exceedingly good.
That being said, there is nothing that has happened in the development of this game that gives me the confidence that the developers are capable of this.
They aren't even capable of changing simple numbers to make minor but useful changes to the existing system, and hence I have absolutely no faith that they would be capable of a mass overhaul that would be worthy of scrapping everything we designers have already cobbled together.
Like before, I will go on not holding my breath. -
seems like a lot of pointless rhetoric.
until the folks at paragon actually put resources in play to actually improve the game, and not just keep spitting out half-finished issues, then they will never regain the community's support.
we don't want hello letters. we don't need to be continually reassured of more great content to come. we yearn for the Dev's to listen to our concerns, and do something about the large laundry list of issues, bugs, annoyances, quirks and quips that drive us crazy as players.
where is the Issue XX: repairs.
and maybe, just maybe after seven years, can the base editors get some love...they're hated worse than villains. -
That's kinda what I figured. I knew it would be doable up until the Romster.
I'm very familiar with the roof method, and that sounds like the way to go.
Perhaps I'll start with a +2 or +3 ITF and work up to the big event. -
over the weekend I was bandying about the idea of doing a +4 ITF.
Tired of playing on easy mode...
anyone done one? anyone interested in doing one? -
all defs and still just 31 minutes. that is impressive. well done!
I'll bet it was a blast. -

with double-xp weekend over, the Maze is once again open for business...
stop by and give it a try. -
Well that was a fun and super productive Double-XP weekend.
In combination with the winter event it brought all kinds of fun in Winterland.
Thanks to all those who kept me company on the endless grind against the snowmen. We had a lot of fun and I got to meet some cool new friends.
All in all, I got 160 levels, around 110 Shards and over 1600 candy canes.
And all totaled I probably netted a billion inf, that includes the 30 WG proc's I'll be crafting and selling for a premium in june.
Crazy Fun.
Hope everyone had an equally fun and productive weekend!!
Now back to the humdrum normal xp world... -
I appreciate your kind words... but I wanted to let those who had messaged me in-game to know that the maze would be available again soon.
As for real life...Thankfully, It was not a big shock, Grandma was 94, her kidneys failed last year, and dialysis wasn't her thing. Can't say I blame her. She lasted far longer than we expected, but went into hospice care just before Xmas, and then passed quietly and peacefully just after. I think all she wanted for Xmas was to be at peace, and Santa obliged her. -
Following a death in the family and a chaotic week afterward, I should be back to my usual schedule of loafing around all day (as it should be).
And so the maze is open for business again...sorry to all those who missed a chance to participate while I was away. -
Welcome to Justice Alyssa, always great to have new players aboard!
Hope to see you in game sometime... -
The very best of luck to you and your family. I am sure you will be as awesome in your new endeavors as you were here. God speed.
-
Happy 2011 everybody! I will be away today and tomorrow, but the maze will be open again for business on Monday 1/3.

If i could have just one thing for my base, it would be MORE STORAGE. Just a simple change of numbers to reflect the changes that have taken place after 19 issues.
They never upgraded the amount of worktables we could have after adding the invention tables, even a +1 here would do the trick. And after limiting the salvage racks to just 30 measly pieces they made no effort to increase the number of racks per base.
It seems ridiculous to me that a 24x28 base plot can only have the same amount of racks as a much much smaller plot. Either put the salvage rack capacity up to 99 or change the numbers on the bigger plots. I have a 24x28 plot with three huge workshops, I should be able to hold 30 storage racks.
all they have to do is change a number...how hard is that.

Wow, this is a great thread...great work ImpishKat.
Quote:And that really nails it on the head. They have pasted the base system together so poorly that they are afraid to poke at it. And so we suffer.A popular theory that some have proposed boils down to "coding".... they are deathly afraid to try to "untangle the christmas lights".
But that doesn't make it any less necessary for doin'.
So, we keep track... as best we can.
.
I would add one other thought which may or may not belong here.
In my discussions with other base builders the consensus seems to be that we love our bases so much we would even be willing to PAY for a new Base Booster pack.
Surely the thought of some extra income might prod some of the devs to give priority to bases.
Heck, I would even pre-order a base booster pack so they could hire a few more coders to 'untangle the x-mas lights' as you say.
But I wont hold my breath.

well tonight we had a new record !
Crystal Flare made it through the maze in just 13 minutes !! Amazing!
Crystal blew right past 2 other visitors in the maze, Jason Z and x Impact x who spent over 34 and 39 minutes respectively in the maze but did not finish.
for beating the speed record Crystal received 30 million influence and a lvl 25 LOTG +7.5% recharge enhancement.
I will have to up the prize now for the fastest time... see the OP for the current prize setting.
-
the next visitor was @Genericface (Apeitheia)
who finished the maze in just 20 minutes. Great Job!
-
Tonight another couple visited the Amazing Maze...
@RangleMDown (Ko Oni II) finished in 34 minutes, and
@Bo'Tanika (Brigitte) finished it in 44 minutes.
Thanks for visiting and I am glad you enjoyed it!

Another victim.... @Bashful Banshee didn't quite make it...out of level one.
