W00T! Rad Armor, I want it NOW!!! (actually yesterday, but now would work).
Great job putting this together Rangle, I really like the idea.
And some great a feedback from eveyone.
Oh, btw, I would play it. I would delete a toon to play it, heck I'd delete one of Rangle's toons to play it.j/k Rangle
Erin, if I recall correctly you should be able to edit/modify mids to run this set (If you're going to try that, might want to install another copy of Mids to a different folder and then tweak. That way you won't mess up your working version of Mids). I did some basic calculations on paper when Rangle asked for my input, but didn't have time to fully check the set. -
Posted. Link. Sorry for the delay all. Hope to see you tonight at TTC. The home of Tanker Tuesdays!!

Hi all,
Here's this month's schedule for TTs (Sorry it's late RL has been pretty funky lately).
Champion on the 1st (Today!) Link
Justice on the 8th
Virtue on the 15th
Infinity on the 22nd
As always all Tanks are welcome regardless of level or power sets. We meet in King's Row by IP Gate (line up on the wall please) on said date, at 6pm PT\9pm ET. -
Hi all,
Yes, what Ukaserex said. It's not a one time thing, and with the recent modification to Freedom and Virtue schedule we should be back around much sooner than last time. Previously we'd tour from Champion one new server per month. With Virtue and Freedom now sharing the 3rd Tuesday we've opened more Tuesdays for servers without set TTs. So, with any luck it won't be so long between vists back to Liberty.
And, we do book 5th Tuesdays for the tour. Which is really great, because the only thing better than 4 TTs is 5 TTs!!
See ya' all tomorrow! -
This Tuesday (the 25th) TT is on Liberty, see ya' there!
-

All levels and power sets are welcome, as long as you're a Tank!

Wondered where you were... Glad to here all is well, aside from the algebra fun. Hopefully we'll see you at TT tonight.
-

-

See ya' there! -

We went to say "Hi" to Romi

Hi all,
Tanker Tuesday rolls back to Freedom on the 18th! Meet us in King's Row by IP Gate 6pm PST\9pm EST. All levels and power sets welcome, as long as you're a Tank!
Looks like we're due for a Manti or Snyapse here, so let me know what you think, or if you want a different TF.
See you all soon! -
Hi all,
I wanted to thank everyone who showed up for the event, if I'm not mistaken we had 40 Tanks! That's the largest turnout so far for a Justice TT!! As Rangle mentioned 2 ITFs and 3 missions teams, thanks to all who lead teams and helped keep the event running.
I've got pics of the event and such, at work atm, but will try to post them once I get home.
And thanks to Philly (Justice Events) and Ice Knight (P.E.R.C) for their sponsorship of the event.
Keep your eyes on the boards for our next TTJ event the "Spring Smash!" happening in a few months. -
Quote:Happy pre-TT-Birthday Kanga, here's the link back to the TT monthly announcement. But, in one more week we'll be back on Freedom.hehe just noticed, its 1 TT off my birthday

I would agree that Invuln is probably one of the easiest Tanks to learn on, and is easy to IO up to incredible preformance levels.
If you want a more aggressive Tank look to ones that have damage fields as their Taunt Auras, Dark, Fire and Electric. Shield Defense also falls into the "more damage" catagory with Shield Charge. Although not a Taunt Aura, it does excellent damage (as does the reworked Burn in Fiery Aura).
Most of the Damage Aura sets are Resist only and will require additional Defenses to really make them shine. So, IOs, Tough and Weave, Combat Jumping, and possibly Maneuvers from the Leadership Pools are your friend.
Stone is extremely tough once you get Granite and/or IO the toon up. As Granite Armor provides excellent Resists and Defense, it sacrafices Recharge and movement, which IOs can help to offset.
Ice Armor is a fun set to play and has probably the best "Taunt Auras" of all the sets in Chilling Embrace. It is a Defense Set with a touch of Resist thrown in, so again the Fighting Power Pool can really help here. Post level 26 life gets good and you get Energy Absorption, which is a +Defense, +End, slow resist, -Foe End power. (slot for Recharge)
Willpower can also be a fun set to run, and you'll probably end up shooting for +HP, +Regen and +Defense with IOs. A big advantage here is you get two Endurance Pools. One with the Power Set, Quick Recovery, and Stamina with the new Inherted Fitness. This can really be a help if you're taking Stone Melee or Dual Blades as your Secondary.
Anyways, welcome to the wonderful world of Tanking! Check out Tanker Tuesdays for all Tanker teaming and general mayhem. -

Who: All Tankers (All Power Sets and Levels welcome!)
What: Tanker Tuesday Winter Meltdown!
When: January 11th, 6pm PT\9pm ET, Meet in King's Row by Independence Port Gate
Where: Here on Justice
Why: Because we're Tanks!!
Here it is, the first TTJ event of 2011!!
For this event we'll be highlighting the Fire Power Sets!
Bring your Fire/Fire, Fire/*, */Fire, or */*/Pyre to King's Row and join the fun.
The Plan: I'm hoping we can get at least one Fire Themed ITF going, form other TFs and missions teams as turnout allows.
We'll have a Theme/Costume contest, so work on your Biographies, Auras, Power Tints/Coloration, Costumes and anything else that will fit into the theme of the event! Have fun, be creative!!
Fire Tanks gather together and start us off with the customary Winter Meltdown bonfire. If Paladin is up we'll have him join us in the festivities.
*You don't have to be a Fire Tank to join the fun. All Tanks are welcome regardless of level or Power Set.*
Justice Events and P.E.R.C are Proud Sponsors of TTJ's Winter Meltdown. -
There was a thread a few months back on this and I think someone posted a near unkillable build for WP/DM that was at something like 150 hp per second. As I recall it was more of a concept build on paper than something they were playing, or wanted to play. But that thread may be a good place to start.
I think this is the thread, Link. -
Just to echo some of what others have said, Ice Melee is best when used on a team. For Soloing, or duoing I find it's damage frustratingly low, even with the above mentioned changes (Ice Stomp, a.k.a Frozen Aura). Coupled with WP, Ice Patch adds an additional amount of damage mitigation and keeps goons in range of the +Regen Aura, so a definate win.
I've started playing one of my Fire/Icers right before the recent Burn changes and I must say it's fun to be a Fire/Icer again.
And, just to my 2 Infs in, Greater Ice Sword needs to be Greater than Ice Sword. -
To add to the confusion, no wait to clear things up... there are two things in play 1) the Theme and 2) the Power Sets.
First, the theme. The theme of this event is "The Winter Meltdown", with the intent to encourage players to flex their creativity, have fun, and make their toons look like they could melt something. So even if you're an Invuln, you could modify your costume, powers (tints and colorations), aruras to fit the event.
Second, we are showcasing the Fire sets, Fiery Aura and Fiery Melee. My goal and hope this year is that we can run an All Fire/Fire, or Fire/*, or */Fire ITF. I haven't posted all the concepts for this years event yet, as I've been slacking off and still recovering from a nasty illness over my Christmas vacation.
So, to sum up. All Tanks are welcome regradless of Power Sets or Level, Creative use of Powers, Costumes, Auras and Toon Biographies are encouraged, Bring a Fire/* or a */Fire if you want to help us run an "all Fire ITF".
A Dark/Fire Tank is more than welcome and in theme with the event. And, if the Dark Armor's auras were tweaked (player choice for concept and thematic reasons) to represent some aspect or concept of fire (smoke, ash, embers, steam, etc ...), all the better.
*Also what Philly and Rangle said.
** And to reiterate, a Fire Tank is not required, nor are any Fire based powers, it is merely a Theme for this TTJ event. All Tanks are welcome regardless of Level or Power Set.
Hope that helps, I'll be posting event details tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned and I'll see you all soon!
Just so you can start working on concepts, the "Spring Smash" is coming up in a few months. -
You might, but it's no big deal as you're allowed to stay in Praetoria as long as you like. I "out leveled" the arc and got the "get out of Praetoria" contact, but stayed in to finish things up. I left Praetoria at level 21.5 by the time I finished everything.
-
Welcome!
Q: Are Brutes Tanks
A: No, but some of the Secondary sets can be IO'd to very high performance levels
TTJ, Tanker Tuesdays here on Justice are on the 2nd Tuesday for each month, see sig and Tanker and Justice Forums for more details
Brutal Mondays, Brutal Mondays are on the 1st Monday of every month, meet in RWZ, see sig and Justice Forum for more details
Gold side Brutal Mondays, have been run on the 3rd Monday of every month as a "seeding event". This month's Gold side Brutal Monday will be on the 17th, see Justice Forum for more info.
As others have said when you ding 20 in Praetoria you are given the choice of either Hero or Vill to take your toon. -
With Invuln, my choices would be:
1) Radiation Melee (sadly not available)
2) Fire (I like Fire)
3) SS (I love Foot Stomp, Rage and KoB)
3) DM (Combat heal as an attack, life is good)
3) Electric (Fun set, but I like it better on my scrapper)
3.5) SM (Excellent mitigation in two KD powers)
4) Kin (Has this slot only because I'm having trouble getting into the set)
5) BA and WM (Good sets, more thematic for me, and I like them paired with damage auras better than with Invuln)
6)EM (At one time I loved this combo, changes to the set has turned me off it. Haven't gone back and made it work yet)
7) DB (Not a big fan of the sets mechanics, cool animations, will probably try on a Brute)
10) IM (IM and I have issues...we're trying to work them out) -
Sounds like thing went very well! Thanks to all who came out to the event. And a big Nuclear Thanks to Philly, Kanga and Papa S coordinating the event and keeping things rolling.
Silver Mantis, dang ... I wanted to do that one..., oh well another time...
See you all Gold side on the 17th!
