  1. Softcap is no longer as great as it was. Nerfs here and there and enemies with buffed accuracy and to hit. You actually want more than 45% now at times. But most of the older enemies ingame still miss you alot with 45%.
  2. Didn't say it was a bug. Im saying it the same thing as interface. They made a mistake and decided to nerf it later as a result. This time however they are claiming it to be a bug.

At this time I have accepted the nerf as something they probably won't undo but I still can't undertstand the 2nd nerf to ion judgements chance to hit the same target again. It was one of 2 things that made it special.

Given that the forums for an MMO contain many "armchair developers" and "armchair coders" who think they know how programming works and have either never programmed anything in their lives, or haven't done anything more complex than a "Hello World" Perl script or Counter Strike Mod and yet think they know exactly what's going on behind the scenes, I think I was downright polite, actually :P but I guess it all depends on your point of view...considering you seem to have formed an opinion about Black Scorpion, and I'd wager you don't know him either.
Get off your high and mighty chair if you want anyone to take anything you say serious. Because I sure as hell didn't form an opinion off anyone here other than you. I don't accept the statement he made as a valid reason for a fix. Given how long the power has indeed been out and the number of red names that said it was working as intended. I think rather than admit they made a mistake in judgment when creating this power they would rather say it was a bug just to nerf it. Its not the first time it's happened and it certainly won't be the last. (see blessing of zephyr nerf)

but, you'll believe whatever you want to. Using terminology such as "FotM" tells me you are or were a PvPer, which tells me all I need to know...

edit: and reading the rest of the thread tells me it was exactly as I figured, #2.
Forming an opinion about me when you don't even know me. Nice! How friendly of you.

  6. Can we stop nerfing ION already for crying out loud. Do you really want everyone to drop the power and make fire even more popular than it already is? Ion is not an instant cast power like pyro, if the target you use the power on die the power completely misses. Why the hell must you keep nerfing it?

Any information I or anyone else at Paragon may have given to the contrary in the past was in error: The intention is that Interface procs behave as close to "having a proc IO slotted in all powers" as possible, and we are making these and the future changes to better achieve that intent.

The issue that rain powers are now only hitting 1 target per 10 seconds is a side-effect of the fix which we will be addressing in a future build. Rain powers should have chance to hit all targets with the proc (but only one "round" of application per 10 seconds across all powers of this category).

And you guys beta tested this crap for months and months its now been live for about a month and it just now occurred to you that it was a bug. Sorry but I don't buy that. I think you figured people wouldn't use it as much as the other powers and when it became a flavor of the month you decided to nerf it.
  8. Its funny though they said the power was working as intended before and I'm 100% positive one of them said it was working as intended on a ustream video recently too and then they suddenly decide to nerf it.
  9. Everything fun always gets nerfed. I won't be bothering with interface any longer.

    No?

Then quit proving the addage about assuming.

I've got, according to that, 25,000 posts. I also have - currently, according to CIT - 290-some characters. Some are new, with maybe 1 hour showing on them. Others have hundreds to over a thousand, and I know the time tracking is wrong on some of them. And that's not counting the ones I've deleted. I've played every AT, multiples of most. 26 50s. Played every powerset. PVPed, RP'd, worked on the original AE tutorials you'll find here and on the Wiki.

You want to assume I know less about the game than someone with 5 posts, who signed up maybe a year ago and plays every other weekend for an hour? Solely because I have more posts?

Doesn't that seem rather an *ignorant* assumption to make?

But thanks, again, for proving my point about why being able to hide said count would be a good idea. It would work for both sides - keeping you from making such a silly assumption, and erasing any worry from someone with, oh, 5 posts that they "might be ignored" because of their lower count. Eliminating one distraction from actual discussion.
You really do seem angry sometimes when people don't agree with you.

Though you are a *perfect* example of the attitude I'm talking about in the original post. Using post count to make ANY sort of assumption about what the person says, their experience/knowledge, etc.

Would Arcanaville, for instance, be any "more" or "less" right if she only had, say, 10 posts? Why would you make an assumption based on that, versus what she *says?*
I dont know that them personally. I dont really know any of the people in this thread. But I'll still likely pay more attention to the opinions of one that spends less time on the forums and more time ingame. And few posts are the easiest way to gauge that short of adding an hours spent on the forum instead of total posts.
  12. Don't get me wrong forums are a fun thing at times. I think most of my posts are either when a good debate or argument occurs or when I'm waiting on a trial or tf to start.
  13. Actually post counts are a good thing. I think post counts show who really plays the game and who is more a forum wh*r*. The mini man who rarely posts and spends more time playing the game is likely to provide better accurate feedback to developers. On some occasions people with higher post counts are the result of posting on cellphones or laptops while at work. But more often that's probably not the case.

Now if you wanted an option to hide your post count then that's up to you.
  14. If I'm understanding this right you want to be able to activate AS while moving from a distance or to apply it to a ranged ability?

I'd have to say no to this when pvp or the arena is involved. Its already easy enough to use AS in pvp as it is. And this would further mess with the already unbalanced castle pvp crap we have now.
  15. I love this pet when it was the auto turret back in the day and I like it now that its a drone even more. It already is an awesome pet.

    BUT

They need to remove that stupidly long activation timer and make it instant cast much like alot of other traps and devices; time bomb and trip mine also need reduced activation times.

I don't want it be a perma pet though because then you wouldn't be able to have 2 or more at once like you currently can with high recharge builds.

What part of this effect is causing issues? The initial activation effect, with the giant globe? Or the smaller continuing effect that is local to each player? Both?

What specific qualities of this effect are causing issues?

I’ll be using this information to revise the effect, hopefully to the point where everyone can view it without discomfort.

As a side note, is anyone aware of any footage of the old Sonic effects, and if so, could you post it here? I have heard about them, but they were before my time, so I don’t know what the original powers looked like. I’m hoping this will help the FX team avoid similar issues in the future.

    EDIT:
I'm focusing on Barrier since that seems to be causing the most issues at the moment. If other effects are physically bothering you, however, please continue to list them in this thread, as well as describe what specific qualities make them troublesome.
Why not make it optional if you are going to change animations based off handicaps or other disorders that bother people. This is probably something that's long overdue such as those with color blindness that can't see things as easily. But certainly don't change animations completely for all.

This again also is another form of much sought after power customization not just for self powers but for player buffs that are cast upon us. So that if I don't like ice shields because it bothers my eyes or because I like for people to see my costume and don't want my costume being completely blocked by Ice I can simply hide the affect.
  17. I guess I can't see what the fuss is all about here from those that are getting lucky and those that are not. Some ats do get screwed by this participation method so why not adjust it or remove it as the player is requesting? We're all in this system together, I don't see why anyone would say nothings wrong with the current system when clearly something is still wrong if anyone is still getting nothing but uncommons/commons and the threads table.

My main was one of the very lucky and she got her first 4 t4s crafted in the first week of this and now has 14 t4s (for different builds and situations) I'm sure someone out there probably has more than that or has them all crafted at this point.

Then their is my traps/defender that does alot of debuffing and blasting and shes only received 1 rare and 1 very rare so far since they did the update. Everything else has been threads, commons and uncommons. I had to spend alot of inf coverting to rare just to get some of my level shifts. Despite doing tons of bafs and lambdas.

And finally my empath defender which really does nothing but buff and heal people with the occassional pyschic tornado. She got a very rare on her first trial, then a rare, an uncommon, and another rare. I really didn't see her getting anything good but so far shes had better luck than the traps defender.
  18. Shipraids will now return to the friday and sunday schedule at 9pm est for now atleast I look forward to see you this sunday (tonight) at 9pm est.

    Glorious will be there!
  19. Very sad that the show ended and also very sad that their wasn't atleast a hint an upcoming spin off such as "metropolis". Perhaps one day... But only if they get Tom to play as superman again and Michael to keep playing as Lex even if it's with the bald cap.
  20. It helps to zoom out more with powers like that on some machines. Although I can't understand why a proc would add lag video lag. Then again coh isn't as video optimized as other games are and seems to be very hard on systems despite systems like that running games like crysis, STO and DC on full settings with no video lag.
  21. Optional things I want to disable:

I want to remove the stars from kicking and punching people with martial arts and super strength. I don't want or need special effects when I punch or kick someone, I just want to see the punch or kick.I actually tried turning my particles down all the way to take a screenshot of my character doing Eaglesclaw and that stupid Star effect still occurs as my character is jumping and when it kicks the target.

Remove glowing and fx from build up, aim, and hasten and all other self buffs.

Option to hide team buff effects from things like Ice shields thermal radiation.

Can we remove the skulls/faces from shadow cloak or whatever its called in darkarmor? Yet another optional thing I want to hide.

Group invisibility and grant invisibility. I dont know about you but I like to show off my costumes that I spend time on. Id like the fx from this to also be optional. Ofcourse it should still make me invisible to enemy targets.

Alot of this is probably more coding I realize but its one of those things that needed to be brought up.
  22. Should put cutscenes in a contact window that you can click to watch in full screen, minimize or completely close. It would also add some interesting interaction with the contacts rather than the white caption text that they recently added to newer story arcs.

Think like the contact window in SWG when Jabba the Hutt or someone contacts you during a mission. For any that have played it, you know what I'm referring to.
  23. Just a reminder that I'll be leading a shipraid tonight at 9pm est. I was unable to find anyone to lead one on friday at 9ish so all things permitting I'll try to lead one on friday at 10:30pm est for those that cannot make it Tonight.
