I'm not too sure about this idea. Like alot of others have said, my SG has a seperate costume slot for the SG uniform. We don't use the SG Mode too often. What I would like to see is this "prestige" that is earned be a type of discount. So the primary cost for the SG base is influence but you can reduce it by teaming in SG mode. I think that's a fair way to do it.

The only reason I even made this board was to get my 1 star back.

I just love when someone starts a thread here with lots of exclamation marks and capitalised words, ranting and raving , trying to make someone else (in this case the devs) look like idiots.
It get's even better when it's quite patiently explained that the OP is the one who is wrong.
And then even better when the OP doesn't post in the thread again.
I love these boards -

On a sidenote, most people are following the creator of this game, as well as the term. So Mr. States, please say something productive, and all you fanboys, you can remove your nose from his crotch and try to be receptive as well.

Umm... isn't this just as bad as saying "DOOOOOM"? -

Definently Seconded!
What was the atlantian's name again? Namor's niece I believe... all I remember is I stopped reading the comic, picked up a new issue a few years back and she ws blue and really hot... but that might just have been my hormones finally kicking it

18/21 - though I think the representation for the Flash is just wrong and I still have no idea who Commander Courage and Nova are.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I know Nova. Though I believe it was "Kid Nova", a younger version in a comic called "The New Warriors". I think I was the only person that liked that comic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Kid Nova was not a younger version of Nova. He was the same guy, normally aged since his original "Man Called Nova" comic.
Marvel wanted to appeal to younger readers though. There was a flap about it at the time. People that liked the original Nova character were offended that their hero had been 'demoted'.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for clarification. I think at some point they went back to just calling him Nova, if I recall correctly. -

Nah...I had the first 25 issues or so back in the day, though Night Thrasher was the lamest hero evah!.

Nice, I have the first 30 issues I think. Night Thrasher would have been all right if he didn't have that stupid skateboard on his back.

I don't mind it.
I started the game after issue 2 so everything was new to me. The first character I rolled did just about every Hollows mission and after spending so much time there, the other low level zones were a walk in the park.
For my second character I decided to avoid the Hollows and do more Perez Park missions. I didn't really see much of a difference in the experience. Both can be a pain but I took it as a challenge. -

Am I the only one who sees possible problems with the magnetism line of controllers?
There is ONE hero in all of comics that has claws similar to the claws set in CoH. Therefore there can arguably be a copyright violation there. I see the same problem with a magnetism set for conrollers. I mean... there are other options for controllers... nature control - make grass and what not entangle and ensnare your enemies. body control - specialize in posessing the bodies (but not the minds) of your enemies.... etc.
I guess I don't see a need to delve into the dangerous waters that are magneto.
Zeus - god of magnetism

I see what you're saying but..... copyright on magnetism?... I don't know. There are characters in comics with ICE and FIRE powers too right?
Should be fine. -

By the way, I do know it got to them. See there's this thing called a "read receipt". It confirms that your email was looked at. You should look into it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So I either use outlook to send it, or I use a third party to make sure someone has read something when in fact the people I am sending the email to have an already established email response system set up.....so that I can track it....wow, amazing, talk about reaching around yer back to scratch yer elbow....
Anymore ways you can try to blame the people that submitted their works for COH not acknowledging them?
[/ QUOTE ]
you think putting a read receipt on an email is reaching around your back? I think there is a bigger problem here.
In another thread you expressed how nerve racking it was when you were submitting, you were so worried it seems. But you wouldn't put a read receipt on. Doesn't make sense to me.
I think even hotmail has read receipt options. Not just Outlook. And like outlook is such a rare software to have. -
[ QUOTE ]
Wow really? Twice now you have attempted to put words into my mouth, it seems to me you dont even know what I was attempting to garner. A system where you submit something, and they say, hey we got it, thanks for entering our contest....
[/ QUOTE ]
ok so some people agree with you so you're the expert now. Ok then. Makes perfect sense now.

wow, very well done! By the way , there is a section in the forums where you can post your art any time. You should take a look.
I believe CuppaJo did say they were not able to post all of the entries. I'm sure there were thousands.

And they have an email system that auto generates an email when you petition yet not one when you submit an entry into a contest....amazing, and once again thats for being the best fanboi one could ask for, you rock!!!
As for your wallpaper, I dig it man, wish it was displayed.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are generally an angry person? Just curious. Anyway, asking for acknowledgement is perfectly fine, complaining like someone shot your dog and then made you eat it is something else.
I don't think you know what a Fanboi is if you think I'm one. I'm simply commenting on your lack of tact.
Also, just because someone spent 30 hours creating something from scratch, doesn't necessarily make it a better wallpaper than someone who spent an hour photoshopping.
A photographer who can capture the meaning of a moment with one snap is no less talented than an artist that paints on a canvas. -

I dont care that I didnt win but after spending 2 days working on this wallpaper I at least wanted people to see it. I worked on it so much and I dont even get an email acknoledging that I submitted it. Kinda disappointing. Here it is, guess I have to post it myself since nobody will see it any other way. This makes me not want to compete in any other contests. All the costume people got their pictures posted so why cant we? Here it is My Wallpaper which wasnt good enough to get posted

I understand it is subject to opinion, but the contest smells, the entries that were first posted magically almost all made it, save for one, I havent heard anyone say they got any kind of response or acknowledgement saying that their submission was recieved, and more over, there is being subjective, and then there is being moronic. I am sure you will say a picture of a dog turd is just as beautiful as sunset at the beach because you say it is subjective, but there are things that have a mass appeal, and some of those entries dont cut the mustard when compared to others.
I am sorry if I am hurting the feelings of the contestants that won, but its not like they gonna lose their prize, so they most likely dont care, and some might even know they submitted a bad entry and magically won, so its no skin off their teeth.
The contest system was bad, the judging seemed to go horribly wrong, and the requirements for winning seemed to have changed without notice to the people entering. Next time you want to have a contest, make sure you explain what you want clearly, that if you want just fan screenshots with the words CITY OF HEROS, your logo, your website address and some catchy phrase, state that, and if you dont want real original pieces of work, state that too. I see one, maybe two winners that I like, ones that actually used some creativity and didnt just stick some screenshots together. However I would like to see more of them, and I encourage others who entered to post their works. It seems to be a ribbon going through alot of the threads, "Was that all of them?" "Wow, where is mine?" "Did you even get mine?".......
Smells bad to me....
[/ QUOTE ]
You should smell your cornflakes in the morning before consuming. Just a tip.
Anyway, carry on your crying... if you do it long enough, maybe there won't be anymore contests. Then will you be happy? -

I've put 3 alts through the hollows and had similar challenges. I agree it can be a royal pain in the butt, but it can be done. In fact I only died once because of this situation. You just need to be extra careful as far as the path you take. It's a fine line, but it can be walked.

Well, being superstitious, I think I jinxed myself by entering as early as I did...it's just that I didn't want it to get to be too cold to even go outside in that outfit. I thought I had a chance for Most Daring, but oh well. Some of my friends don't agree. The comic store that a friend works at says he polled 74 people today showing my picture and the picture of the runner-up of Most Daring, and I guess he says 67 of them voted for me. Whatever the heck that's good for...!?

You got my vote!!
seriously though, that WAS pretty gutsy.
