Quote:Could've gone with any character name, really, but this guy was one of my personal favorite things to come out of GR character-wise, and no one had a claim on the name yet...so yeah, dibs.Figures. Art lead just -has- to design his own face character.
Ah keed, ah keed! -

Quote:All the big news will continue to be posted on the News, Events & Announcements forum, right where you expect to find it.So cool that the secret new avatar David talked about has been revealed officially and not just hinted at in the ViDoc #2
... And if they insist on Tweeting and Facebook-ing stuff... it really should be announced on the official forums for the game as well... and not just "go to Facebook" but an actual link to the information. -
Shown on Facebook late yesterday, but since it pertains to my forum handle, I wanted to do an immediate repost here.

Hey, folks. David Nakayama here. So as you can see, I've finally adopted an honest-to-goodness board handle and am now going by 'Noble Savage.' This also happens to be the name of a brand-new signature character who you'll meet very soon in GOING ROGUE. For those of you who haven't already seen the concept art we revealed yesterday, here it is. Enjoy!

Hey, folks. I'd like to explore the idea of bringing back old costume parts that, for whatever reason, have fallen out of the system. So I'm turning to you, our esteemed veterans, for some historical knowledge and, ideally, names plus screenshots. I've seen a few examples posted on other threads, but let's consolidate that information here if possible.
Thanks for your help, and with a little luck, perhaps we can get some of these items back for you. -

Future boosters will have more tightly focused themes. Broad, open-ended terms like 'Mutant, Science, Natural,' etc. mean too many different things to different people, so expect something a little different on the next one.

Quote:Friendly reminder: just because there's no specific post responding to a particular request doesn't mean that we're ignoring you. Quite the contrary, actually. Internally, this thread has been noted from top to bottom, put into a spreadsheet, and a number of things are in the pipeline as we speak.Hang on you post here but make no mention of this idea?
All were asking for is a feasibility check if this kind of thing is even possible with the game engen. (not the 4 arms or back mounted cannons just the tacks instend of legs or spider legs or wheels or centaurs or hovering.
Please look into it.
However, new releases won't be announced until they're ready for Beta. You'll just have to stayed tuned.
About this particular request though: I like the idea, but it would be a massive undertaking. Not sure it's feasible because it might potentially require new animations across all categories of movement. -
Quote:Something I notice quite frequently with monstrous legs and feet... The crouch emote makes the legs clip like crazy.
Especially annoying, since characters who use monstrous legs and feet are exactly the type to be /e crouch'ing.
Some examples!
Female body, most sliders and height all the way to the left.
The shins go through the thighs. D:
Is there any way to fix this at all?
It's a geo issue of course. That extra leg bend has to go somewhere when the crouch happens. Not sure if it's possible to detect monstrous legs + crouch and then play an alternate animation, but I'll look into it. This is an edge case though, so it may not rise to the top of the priority list. -

Quote:I don't want to raise any false hopes on this, so just to be clear, it's not currently on the schedule. They've added items to a few packs after they came out, such as allowing the Valkyrie sword to be used with Dual Blades, but you're right - never long after the pack has come out. In this case, it looks like it might be theoretically possible for them to release a "with skin" version of Organic Armour either before the pack comes out, or shortly thereafter, like a week or so. Provided that's what David is shooting for, of course.

Quote:It will indeed work for foxes.Looks nice, and appears to be two-tone, so should work for fox and kitsune types...Thanks a bunch, David and Jay.
Jay did all the heavy lifting here, so let's give credit where credit's due. We're definitely taking stock of fan requests and trying to put as much of it as possible into the pipeline. On a completely unrelated note, wait 'til you see what's cookin' in animation... -

Nothing's been decided, and no promises. That said, my hope and intention is to make more animal stuff for you guys. I'll of course post about it when there's something official to announce.

Hey, folks. So its always fun to be the bearer of good news, and thats exactly what weve got for you today: an exclusive announcement that were revealing to you first. Weve hinted at the possibility of a proper, fluffy wolf tail for a while now, and yknow what? How about we give that to you sooner rather than later?
In fact, how about THIS WEEK. Jay built a snazzy new animated tail, and though we were originally planning to release it later as part of a different set, the schedules been moved up, and youll now have access to it as a bonus in the soon-to-be-released Mutant Pack. Heres a pic, and (barring any technical glitches) you can start playing with the new tail on the Training Room on Friday, along with the other tails and weapon that missed the last build.
Cheers,
David

Thanks for saying so, but I've got a new avatar coming, and it's not Statesman. Something cool and GR-related.

Just wanted y'all to know that the Animation Department's been over this thread with a fine-toothed comb. We're already starting to prioritize.
-
Correct. And we wouldn't necessarily want to tie everything to a premium set either. General interest things should probably be part of the core game and come out with the regular, free releases.
-
Quote:I realize that, but I don't have any control over it. Wish you all had access, sincerely.David, if you mean people should log onto test to actually try the parts, then you do realise that the EU players cant, due to Closed Beta for GR occupying are one and only active test server? I know we'd love to test them (and get jump up and down on any bugs we find) but we cant...saying otherwise is kinda...well, yeah =/
In a jokey way, I meant that this Beta should be looked at as a preview before the actual release; the set's not being launched unannounced. -
Quote:Skeleton/ ghost/ supernatural, for me, is a very exciting possibility. Certainly on my short list."Hi, how are you doing?" http://VileTerror.Keenspace.com/ColourTheory.JpG
(please excuse the feet. I can't draw feet worth crud. Just pretend they're suitably zombie-ish feet)
I would be very interested in an undead booster. The current zombie pieces are, in my opinion, a little one dimensional. Undead doesn't always mean beraggled, I say.
The previously suggested "ghost booster" also sounds good. Possibly put the two together as a Supernatural Booster?
Granting us some sort of optional power which renders our character as flagged with the Undead tag would be amazingly stellar, in my opinion, though I realize that's not specifically art related. The idea of having the game acknowledge a character as being non-living, and having stats appropriate to that, would be great! A weakness to "holy" attacks and reduced Regen, but with maybe a benefit of a low-power life-sapping effect added to all attacks/powers that target foes?
Which then encourages the idea of something similar for robotic characters in another booster pack as well. Giving them a trade of some benefit like Endurance/Recovery sapping abilities, at the cost of an increased vulnerability to EMP type attacks.
