  1. DB is like lolAR and omgwtfFire rolled into one. Apparently.
  2. Psion, Invul gets trounced by everything not smashing/lethal. A person that lists Spines/Regen and BS/Regen as their two characters will get laughed at if they start calling Invulns easymode. You get IH in Sirens cmon!
  3. No worries Dumok. Honest mistake. I just didn't want her to be forgotten. Thanks
  4. For the Justice League Finals article, Frau Holle is also part of Team Bacon. She sat out match 1 but was in matches 2 and 3.

Just an update from about 2 years ago. We totally overhauled our forums and I created a guide to DROW CoH/V and Everything You Would Want to Know About Our Recruiting Process.
  6. I agree with Pudds. The current way of calculating if a person hits a target is very good except when the attacker has high +tohit buffs and the defender has high +def buffs. In this case the attacker should only hit 60%-70% of the time rather than the nearly every time as it is now.

For example, when I take my Ice tanker against a scrapper with FA, sometimes it feels like my +def toggles are just a waste of end. I'm not complaining about the overall effectiveness of my tank. My tank does quite well (with hibernoob) and a nerf in the effectiveness of tohit vs def would probably cause balance issues with Ice tanks specifically. But the general tohit vs def formulas do need to get reworked.
  7. I actually do want to understand what enjoyment people get from badges. Maybe I am missing out on something. For me, the act of PvP is fun. I am having fun when I hit someone with a fireblast while bunny hopping. I also find baseball fun to play. The act of swinging a bat at a thrown ball and trying to hit it solidly is fun.

This is different from how I perceive people enjoy badges. I don't really think anyone thinks the act of clicking on a RV base terminal is fun. I don't think many think the act of using an attack on 1000 monkeys in a row is fun. My perception is that people feel a sense of accomplishment when they get a badge or look at their badge list.

My bottom line for games is "how fun is it?" Achieving goals is good but only if I am having fun in the process. So to me it seems like people that are avid badge hunters enjoy the sense of accomplishment but never actually have fun.

And this seems to be confirmed in my conversations with friends who do collect badges. They heal farm for the empath badge but view the requirement for the badge as a tedious obstruction.

    Am I not understanding something?
  8. I agree with your basic point that PvP should be the main focus of a game that is founded for a long term playerbase. This is because, as you said, PvP requires a platform but then once that platform exists, it is self-generating content. PvE on the other hand requires Dev generated content that players will always quickly run through.

I have firsthand experience with this in my guild. DROW is a very hardcore group with teams in most MMOs. For a long time our WoW team did great with server and world firsts with loot, boss beating, etc. But then they hit a wall because there was simply no high end content that they hadn't beaten. So everything hinged on waiting for the next patch with new content to come out. What did they do while they were waiting for the patches? They either PvPed or they simply didn't play.

Our Vanguard team is already hitting a wall with Dev created PvE content and that game has only been out for a little while now. Devs simply cannot generate content at the same rate that players go through and get bored of content. Automated content generation cannot be done in a way that isn't repetitive right now. The only solution is PvP because the content is self-generating.
  9. Yes Bloody Bay is where I got my Mask badge.
