The web team has made the mistake of setting up secure.plaync.com and secure.ncsoft.com to use the same ssl certificate. The certificate belongs to secure.ncsoft.com so when accessing https://secure.plaync.com you get an error because the domain doesn't match.
It's actually been like that for a while. -
Anyone else get this message?
Quote:Edit: Nevermind, ofcourse Nivienne only linked to the US version and it is not apparent which store version you are in.. Guess I'll try to talk to accounting to get the money back from buying the US version. The supplied serial code is valid, but it can not be used to create a new account and it can not be applied to any accounts you already have. -
Did you also try bringing Shivans?
-
Was a very good team indeed. Earned a nice amount of inf and got a shiny new badge and had fun doing it

I'd like to do this one on my brute,
Energitic 50 Nrg/Nrg Brute -

Yays! I have two followers now!
[/ QUOTE ]
Make that three, I think this is an awesome suggestion.
But maybe instead of imps it could be something else, something more ghost-like.. Don't know what though. -
I'd like to nominate Rhinoxx for his suggestions for heroes to meet in Mayhem Missions found here: Mayhem Mission Heroes.

I gather the usual method is:
1. Run to bank in hide mode.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't run straight to the bank that will just trigger all the ambushes at once (who as you yourself pointed out sees straight thru your stealth).
Fight your way there, destroy bus stops, newsstands, the cops, etc. for extra time (maybe not the cars at your current level though). That way you will only trigger one ambush at a time and at villainous solo they will only consist of 2 longbow pr. ambush. -
AM gives a sort of resistance to sleeps and holds, but its only a "sort of" as you still get slept and held it just wears off fast. Make sure you have as many AM's stacked as possible when figthing those mobs, with 8 AM's a sleep only last a split second (still makes your toggles drop though).
I don't think we have anything that gives "proper" resistance to sleeps and holds. -
I'd like to do the SF, but I know I am definitly not gonna be able to get online much (if at all) on christmas day.

On another subject, I have a new build that goes up to level 35 coming up very soon! I have slightly more detailed slotting advice in there too. Stay tuned
[/ QUOTE ]
With EM Pulse being a no-brainer for lvl 38, why not go all out and plan all the way to 38 -
With the selfrez power from the winter event available, perhaps some people taking recall friend at 14 or 16 would be a good idea, when doing teams with a level spread it can come in handy to help the lower levels to the mission door... Thats ofcourse dependent on people getting the selfrez.

And I quote (Dragonfish):
[ QUOTE ]
It was utterly insane. Five stacked AMs, fighting +2s a lot of the time and we finished one mish so quickly that AM hadn't recharged before we got to the next mish!
...snip...
We also noticed that when the AM wore off endurance began to plummet. Does anyone have any firm figures for when AM gets perma'd (assuming 3 slotted with SO's)?
[/ QUOTE ]
So 5 stacked AM at early levels is not perma. I know how bad the downtime really hurts so I suggested staggering AM buffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
But 5 AM's is nearly perma, dont have to wait long for it to come up again. Spreading the AM's would make very little difference in downtime, but would seriously impact the effectivity of a team.
There is a big difference between having 1-3 AM's and having 5-8, with 1-3 you're still pants, with 5-8 you're an unstoppable force.
The whole idea of these teams is to stack AM's as high as possible and every one who has been in these teams can tell you it works. You can tell us from here till doomsday that it doesn't work, but we have actually tried it. -
[ QUOTE ]
If by invincible you mean relentless (the highest difficulty).
[/ QUOTE ]
Why would he mean a difficulty when he mentioned a power in his powerset? -

I VERY much like the idea for the global channel, it was causing me trouble as well! What would that bind look like exactly?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, back from work.. The bind would look like this:
[ QUOTE ]
/bind <key> "beginchat /chan_send Superteam, [<toon on the superteam>] "
[/ QUOTE ]
Ie. I would bind it to period and my superteam toon is named Radient Fire so mine would be:
[ QUOTE ]
/bind . "beginchat /chan_send Superteam, [Radient Fire] "
[/ QUOTE ]
Does that get the T0ughGuy690 stamp of approval? -

I VERY much like the idea for the global channel, it was causing me trouble as well! What would that bind look like exactly?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know if I can find from work, but if no one else has posted a bind/macro before I return from work I will post mine as soon as I get home. -
I must say I had a blast last night, in the team i was in we leveled incredible fast and by the time it was said in SG chat to take maneuvers at 8 we were alreeady 8 and had taken Rain of Fire..
So I guess maneuvers at 12..
Must say Rain of Fire in a team where all have it is godlike, we had some big spawns but with 4 or 5 Rain of Fire applied the mobs would just roll over and die.
And ofcourse "the not so secret weapon" of AM stacked 6-8 times meant it was almost imposssible not to have a full endurance bar. And also mezzes wore off really fast, several in my team got slept or held during some missions but the mez would only last a split second.
We did have a few deaths but by huddling up together we were able to create a healing blanket which meant even if a member lost 99% health he would be back to 100% in no time. I guess with mutation the occasional death will be even less a problem. Only problem I found was with a council paper mish where there was lots of knockback.
Slightly disappointed at the change were we hold back travelpowers, with the rate we are leveling it will be easy to miss a mayhem and not get both mayhem travelpowers, so we can only reliably count on 2 hours of travel from mayhems (I think we can rely on at least getting one of them). Also with my preference for flight knockback would not be a problem. But I can get by without until 24.
Radiation Infection went nearly unused as it took longer to apply it than to kill the spawn, might come in handy later against AV's and EB's, but for Bosses, Lietenants and Minions it was not worth the effort.
All in all it was a blast and I had a really great team, shame I had to quit after about 3 hours as I had to go to work today (posting this from work). But looking forward to the next run.
One suggestion for the global channnel, since our globals and names of the toon it not the same, perhaps to make it easier to see who is who we could make a bind or macro to prefix what we say in the global channel with "[<name of toon of the team>]"..
Radient Fire on the Fire/Rad Superteam. -
Global is @Nightfly, my lvl 1 Fire/Rad is named "Radient Fire", standing next to kalinda..
-
[ QUOTE ]
I forgot this in my post (it's that big and I still forget something):
On December 10th, all villains should start out as lvl 1 in Mercy Island with Kalinda as their starting contact.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does this mean we have to skip the tutorial and not get the exploration badge or would it be alright to do the tutorial and be lvl 2 for the team start? -
I'd like to get in on this aswell, sounds like a lot of fun.

Other players usually don't see your pets' chat bubbles (unless the enabled the feature in the options).
[/ QUOTE ]
They don't see the auto responses, but I believe they do see what you make your minions say with /petsay. -
First of all, do not move away from the vault area until you have defeated the hero, move to the lobby and there will just be more mobs to fight in my experience, let the hero come to you.
Secondly, block the door as best you can and hide behind your pets, the second you see the hero make sure your pets are in bodyguard mode (defensive follow). No matter how effeciently your pets block the door the hero will eventually get through, bodyguard is key to surviving the initial strikes here.
Also, if you can, do the side mission to break another villain free before you enter the bank, the other villain will really help in taking down both the hero but also the security guards/police/longbow that the hero brings with him/her. -
[ QUOTE ]
Long story short - not mine it won't!
Long version - I currently have a small base for my one-player SG consisting solely of nine of my own alts.
[/ QUOTE ]
After reading this I'd like to do the same thing, make an SG, make about 150k-200k prestige and have a small base with an enhancement storage and maybe a little bit of decoration.. However how do you invite a new alt into your newly created SG? Do you have two accounts so you can be online with two toons at the same time? -
[ QUOTE ]
Burning Crusade is out in a few weeks
[/ QUOTE ]
I would guess a couple months, and I seriously doubt that all content updates from that point will be payed expansions.
[ QUOTE ]
As for updates so far, there hasn't been 'loads' of new WoW content. They've added a few things to the original release which are a lot less than has been added to the CoX games(despite a much smaller subscription).
[/ QUOTE ]
I never said "loads" but a lot of content has been added since release and all these updates has been free. I certainly consider things like Blackwing Lair, Zul'Gurub, Ahn'Quirac, Dire Maul and battlegrounds (to give a few examples) as content and even very unique content (ie. it feels different from what we have.. or it's "something new").
What we get in CoX isssues maybe some extra zones but not really that unique and all the missions are pretty generic (every cave/office/base mostly look the same). For me thats not "real" new content, it's just more of the same and granted that WoW also brings more of the same but they also have brought a lot of unique content aswell.
[ QUOTE ]
Most of the patches for WoW have contained mainly class balancing or power adjustments, quest amendments, etc. I really can't think of any substantial content that's been added or major advancements in the basic format.
[/ QUOTE ]
See above.
[ QUOTE ]
Burning Crusade is the only thing I would consider on a par with a CoH Issue
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I would consider the release of CoV on par with Burning Crusade and the Issues on par with WoW's content patches based on the feeling of "getting something new" vs. the feeling of getting "more of the same".
[ QUOTE ]
and you have to pay for it which is exactly what I said.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah, the text I quoted in my reply earlier implied that every content patch in WoW that has been released so far has been a payed expansion, probably not what you meant but that's what the text you wrote implied. What you just said now is a lot more clear.
But this little discussion regarding WoW patches vs. CoX issues doesn't change the fact that it's somewhat redicilous to require a hero to buy CoV to enter his/her SG's base which is the real topic for this thread. -
[ QUOTE ]
or WoW and other games where every update is released as a boxed set you have to pay for again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Get your facts straight, WoW has had plenty of updates (a few very large ones with lots of content too) but no payed expansion yet, CoX isn't alone in this.
That said I have to agree, you buy CoH to play hero and CoV to play villain, SG functionality (including bases) should be independant of that. Making it so a hero has to buy a another game to enter his/her SG's base seems ridiculous.
Not that I'm missing out, I wanted to play on both sides of the law so I have both CoH and CoV.
