My Thanks for the comments. Here's a new Golden Age image I've just finished:
-
Running like hell trying to join up with a team on the other side of the Hollows...fail...fail...fail
My first toon (who was level 12 at the time), joining a team of 50s..they seemed like gods at the time
Getting my first 50 and getting each different AT to 50
Costume competitions and lots of people hanging around under Atlas
Finding it hard to survive as a low level toon, not an issue these days
Fully slotting Nova on my first blaster BOOOM!
Taking part in an SG drinking game TF, one of my friends was so drunk his toon kept running into the same wall for 10 minutes while we all watched falling around laughing
All my great friends from the SG -
Quote:I've seen it and it's well worth your time and the nominationsIt's a mostly silent black and white piece set during the decline of the silent movie period of film. It won best actor at Cannes and three Golden Globes. Honestly it looks pretty good, so hopefully I'll have the free time to watch it this weekend (along with probably Man on a Ledge).

Rotten Tomatoes: 97%(critics), 91%(audience)
Metacritic: 89/100, User Score:7.9 -
Quote:My thanks for such high praise, although I'm not sure I'm deservingThis art is just amazing and the best I've seen around ! Consider me a huge fan !
I wish I could draw/create something even remotely close to this, there is no doubt you have a real talent for this.
Quote:If you are not doing this as your profession yet you should really consider making the move. :-)
Anyway here's some recent works which I'm reasonably pleased with:
-
Been playing around with a new comic advert idea where I imagined action figures for the characters

Quote:Thank youI watched your Issue #25 trailer, NH. And it is amazingggg! How long did it take for you to do?
The video was put together in Adobe Premier which took about an hour, but each image in the video took at least an hour to create.
I didn't realise that my thread would create a debate like this, here's my two cents:
As I said at the start of the thread, really I use this method of image creation primarily for my comic. In answer to an earlier point - I can draw by hand but I can't produce this quality.
Creation of these images ultilises more skills than many might realise, including texturing, some model making and digital painting (which gives them a more erm painted look).
Is it art? Well I have been l lucky enough to have a few commissions and not all COH related (in fact I was very pleased to be commissioned to do a CD cover for an up and coming band). The important thing for me was that all of people I did the commissions for were delighted with the results - does that make art....who knows?? Does it matter?? -
The next issue has long been planned to be a very special issue, here's the cover art and a teaser trailer.

I've been pretty busy finishing up my latest comic issue, but thought I'd share a few recent images I've done:
-
Sorry, I don't have to time at the moment for multiple character art, but if you're happy to settle for some quick art...
-
Personally I read all the comics, but perhaps I'm a little biased
-
Looks like I'm first with this piece "HEY! Watch the cape!"
-
Nice Henri
you can see the improvement from the previous piece.

My thanks for the comments they have inspired me and erm thank you Virt I'll bare that in mind
Here's an image I have been working on recently entitled 'A Memory'
-
I was thinking that perhaps instead of clogging up the section with various posts I should perhaps put all my stuff in one thread as others have done. Apologies if this is a long post.
Firstly I don't really consider myself an artist, initially I created the images for my comic as I grew tired of the limitations of screenshots and I wanted the characters to be able to show a range of emotions.
However I slowly began to be seduced by the idea of attempting to make the images more erm arty mostly to promote the comic. Basically I'm still learning.
Typically I don't like usual superhero poses and tend to prefer doing more off-beat pieces.
In anwswer to a few PM's I've had recently, the images are created by rendering the figures in either Poser or Daz then using a graphics tablet and PS to 'paint' over.
Here's a few samples:
Anyway on to the comic, which features the same art, some of you might of seen it kindly posted by Avatea in the city of comic creators thread (my thanks to Avatea for her great support and kind words).
If you like to typical comic slugfest then I'm afraid my comic won't appeal but if you are interested in character development, suspense, offbeat humour and the 'fourth wall' it might interest you.
The link to the whole series is in my sig. But if 23 issues are a bit of an undertaking (yes it would be). I'd suggest picking it up from issue 18, I've linked these issues below:

Anyway thanks for looking and I'll use this thread in future instead of multiple posts. I'm currently completing up my latest issue which will have some costume codes hidden within it. -

Quote:I had a quick shot at Celestyna for youMight as well give this toon a shot, below is a picture of my Street Justice/Ninjitsu Stalker, Celestyna, a vigilante inspired by batman to an extent, by that I mean that she uses little gadgets and the like (powered gloves, smoke bombs, grapnel launcher, high tech armour, the usual). Sorry about the picture quality, but my computer isnt what it used to be and I run the game on worse than that.

While I'm really looking forward to the movie, for me the banner art is a bit meh.
Also an Avengers origin movie without Henry Pym and Janet van Dyne... -
Quote:Thanks Henri, PM on it's way.I've got to take my hat off to you NH, these pieces are really good, and the stuff i saw in your DA gallery, you're a talent mate!
I'd love to know what software you use, is it more geared towards 3d modeling (something i have absolutely no clue about, /meak lol )? PM me if you'd rather... erm... PM -
