No one had used bridging to PL since AE came out. When you can ding 1-50 in 2-4 hours during 2XP and a bit more outside of 2XP, who needs them?
Bridging was a relic of the previous incarnation of the game. You level so quickly now, gain so much influence now, that it's unneeded.

I'll still be PLing PvP alts and avoiding the 1-32 grind as necessary; the crtiical difference is now I won't have to ask anyone to pad my farm mission, to bridge or to do all sorts of "teammate Tetris" as Posi called it.

    This issue is awesome.
  2. Your idea is a nice one, Trickshooter.

I wouldn't mind if Vigilance was reformulated to something like Kheldians have; if you're with a Tanker you do a little more damage, with a Controller you recharge a bit faster and so on. Solo, you might get a bit of Damage Resistance or Debuff.

*shrug* Not sure if that's even viable but I never notice my Inherent most of the time.

Good times, looking for some RV action sometime so my Therm doesn't get rusty.

This post wins a Bubble of Win (the first such awarded).

Try it in Hexadecimal though, it's sexier.

As for why, a friend of mine is in Closed and telling me everything...so it's like I'm there anyway.

I read for about 2 minutes this guys explanation of how it feels to have a *** dream.
So I put him on Global Ignore.
And then I sat there for an additional minute wondering why they never made it so when you stick someone on global ignore, you can actually ignore everything they say even if you are teaming with them.
He kept going on and on and on.
    Then I mysteriously disconnected.

If you were on that team... and your kin just magically disappeared... sorry, I just don't really care what that feels like. (BTW, this was not in the AE)
    Eww.

I think if you /ignore charactername it will do that and gignore at the same time? Now if I go /ignore PerfectPain it says You are now ignoring @globalname...
  6. Erm I must be doing something wrong.

I ran 116 million Won into a Currency Converter to USD and it came out 96,377.4217 USD. That can't be 96,000 USD can it? That seems...low.
    1 KRW = 0.000809445 USD 1 USD = 1,235.41 KRW
  7. Not really.

In real life I'm surrounded by books, dictionaries, lexicons and thesauri. I'm a loner and enjoy reading and learning.

In game I'm a bubbler and I smash Romans...so *laugh*.

I do get the question though. Yes, I try to help people out of game and ingame.

  8. I'm actually going to make a quickie AE arc about Ticket/Merit/Market purchases in the near future...exposing ebil marketeering for the masses!

Well, perhaps not that far, but if it helps a few players manage their tickets and understand their options, I'll consider myself happy.

Of course, you may have to wait until the game is no longer available to play for this to happen, but that's a chance you're going to have to take!

I'm beginning to believe those aforementioned people are the ones making the huge profits and doing all the flipping. If that's the case, then of COURSE they don't want a solution for the problem!

    "The One"
    No.

I started an experimental hero on Triumph, a Warshade called "The Casual Player". I play this character at most 45 minutes per day, sometimes 20-30 minutes. I don't flip stuff, I just sell drops and craft drops and sell those.

I'm about to hit level 9 and I already have close to 2,000,000 influence.
    "What? How?"

My missions had Circle of Thorns, which were gracious enough to drop Luck Charm, Spiritual Essence and Runebound Armor salvage on me.
My last arc mission from Shadowstar was in...Perez Park.

Perez Park is overflowing with Hellions Pinatas. I just AoEd Green Cons until my salvage sack was full, faceplanted and sold at Atlas.

After that, I'd noticed I'd had tickets awarded me for my lowbie arc.
I used 540 of them for a rare arcane salvage and netted a bunch more influence.

Before I hit level 10, I have enough for Dual Origins AND Single Origins at level 22.
The game is filled with Influence-filled Pinatas standing around waiting to be cracked open by your character. It is truly impossible not to make influence in this game, even if you list your stuff at a bare minimum.

Salvage drops? Sell for 100-1,000,000 influence.
Recipes drop? Craft and sell for 100-several million influence
Tickets drop? Use them to sell salvage people want, or roll in Bronze and sell the results.

If you want to ignore the Market, feel free and you can play just fine without it. Price Caps are NOT a solution. They will DRY up supply as crafted IOs are sold inter-server in specialized channels for MORE than the enforced price.

Will "The Casual Player" be purpled? Who knows.
Will "The Casual Player" be set for life by level 20 odd? Certainly, considering SOs/Basic IOs as the baseline.

Just keep pounding those pinatas, the game world is populated with them...

(Edit, I would have had a stronger base but I misclicked the big Enrage and big Respite you get from Outbreak when trying to sell them, curses!)

Yeah, 5 person teams is what seems to be ongoing now, but I don't know if there will be enough interest on Pinnacle for that many people per team. I'd certainly be up for it though.

    Across the last two matches:
    John Murdock- 18 kills

I was ahead of Mike's character in kills before, but then he respecced into a different build half way through and pulled way ahead of me .
Not sure about us. Pretty sure Funk had around 20-30 kills, James about 10-20. My Emp got 3 kills heh but those were mostly killsteals.
Defeats against...I think until that last match JD got downed four or five times, Funk maybe two or three and myself at most once.

    • Illusionist (why decoys? That just invites tediously farming the same MI's decoys over and over - maybe change the badge to needing 50 Master Illusionist bosses or 200 Illusionist lieutenants instead)
    • Unbreakable (not a defeat badge, but seriously how are you supposed to get this badge without farming it?)
This...PLEASE at least lower the damage requirement to the 1,000,000 one. It is SUCH a garguantuan annoyance to have to farm 10,000,000 damage on EVERY PvP vill I make.

If you're going to make changes to the zone entry etc...at least consider reviewing some of the Accolades and making them somewhat more sane.

Overall, I like the new changes a lot but I will have to test them myself before I decide whether they are worthwhile. Thanks for the great QOL stuff guys.

  12. Won't be getting them for a while yet I imagine...probably not until open beta.

I imagine your difficulty settings will survive though.
  13. First hit on Google for Slax is:

    Slax: "Your pocket operating system."

  17. Yeah I'm in for the next season for sure.

    Some suggestions:

    1)DR On
    2)Travel Suppression Off
    3)Heal Decay Off
4)Best two out of 3? It likely wouldn't have made much difference in most matchups, to be honest, but it lets you get more games in.
    5)Sub rules clairified
    6)Shorter season...maybe a few matches per week?

That's about all that comes to mind.
Thanks for participating all, gratz LOLRPVP and see you in the zones...

    Need help...

    Hmmm that might be trickier.

I'd try going under keyboard mapping (again under Menu - Options - etc) and fiddling around with your LMouse and RMouse to see if you can designate them as Left-Right, perhaps your middle or side mouse buttons as Run/Walk.

Not sure if this is doable, to be fair.

    Those were the days.

If Praetoria were a world with multiple zones instead of a tacked on zone like Cimerora or Croatoa that would be beyond incredible.
I'd love if it had a starting zone/entry point, other zones scaled by levels with Arenas, Stores, Trainers, a Market...just no AE *laughs* as it would break the immersion factor skyhigh.

If they just give us some Rikti War Zone quality writing/arcs, it'll already be great.
Perhaps also RWZ style Denari Merits...which we can't trade and buy stuff with.
  23. IOs and more IOs.

I plan each build out with sets in Mid's, level them while speed bumping for Accolade requirements, slot them out with IOs then start over again.

Occasionally I'll get a humourous/RP concept and it'll actually turn out to be quite fun (my Trick Arrow defender, Warshade, Kat/Regen Scrap). Mostly I just play to have fun, though the PvP debil is always at my shoulder, so that's a concern as well.

    Good Luck!
Sure, I'll take a stab at this.

Travel Suppression was added for two reasons at least:

i)Melee was having a rough time kiting efficiently when people were attacking them from 40-80 feet away. With TS, a 'forced engagement' occurs.

ii)With everyone sporting Swift/Hurdle/Super Leap/Superspeed, it was pretty impossible to catch up with a good PvPer (webnades and such aside), which was frustrating to new people. Now everyone stops and everyone has to fight.

    Heal Decay:

Devs didn't like the Emps APing/HO to counter spikes, found it was too much a factor in Arena and cut the legs from under Heal-sporting classes.
If you don't worry about someone healing, you can just spam holds/damage/more damage and eventually they'll die.

    Diminishing Returns:

Goes back to too many stacked buffs/ToHit/etc on players during team matches. Lower returns on buffs means buffer classes aren't needed...so anyone can play their favourite toon and get kills

    Mez Res:

This is one of the worst changes they've made so far, needless to say the least. Not sure where the Devs stood on holds, but they either didn't like that Break Frees countered them so easily or they didn't like that Sonics/Emps/Etc cound stack enough protection to make incoming holds useless. Again, getting held constantly forces an engagement, which is what the Devs wanted...

As for RV Freedom, it was pretty hopping last night, and the kickballs were fantastic too, lots of people around.

The Devs should be posting on the CoH website; we shouldn't have to access a third-party site for infornation about CoH since...this site can already do that.

Now, hopefully we get the Devs back here once their digest is fixed. I won't be following them on Twitter at all.
