Quote:But at times that trap dishes out a not too insignificant amount of hurt.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=266547&page=3
But, yeah, about the whole human vs. dwarf tanking thing...the devs really should try out some of our other proposals...at least on test...
A novel idea...??? (I don't remember reading of it before).
Still, I'd rather see a Rage Clone...oh well...I reckon I'll just have to get used to inner light.
No not rage, I wouldnt want the rage crash. A fury bar though would be nice. -
Some of my favorites:
1. the episode that brought in Talia and introduced Rha's Al Ghul at the end.
2. The Laughing Fish
3. The episode with the kids talking about Batman and we get a nice 60's style episode followed by the DARK KNIGHT RETURNS scene with the bat-tank and the fight with the mutant leader. Also a nice rip on Joel Schumaker was in it that ep.
4. Batman/Superman: World's Finest
5. first episode with the Scarecrow
6. both episodes with the Clock King
7. the two episodes where Batman faced his former fellow student that went ninja.
8. the first appearance of Mr. Freeze, one can't help but feel some sympathy for the guy, even if he no longer has emotions
9. The Riddler episodes, especially the one where Batman told Riddler that Riddler was unable to stop himself.
10. The episode where Harley captured Batman and had him hanging over the piranaha tank. Joker's reaction was priceless.
11. The episode where Jason Blood/Etrigan guest starred. Batman and magic can be fun
12. The episode with the Creeper. Imagine Joker being freaked out by someone's loony behavior. -
Quote:My reasoning is this: there are plenty of day jobs now with 6 blue and 6 red dayjobs that are alignment specific and can only be obtained after parking for 21 days after alignment changing, for those that got to collect them all. Of these 4 new ones it looks like 2 offer the same rewards that other Dayjobs already provided (unless i misread), so now we bascially have 4 goldside Dayjobs, 2 of which appear to be redundant.Again if you find them annoying that's fine. I don't actually consider them a bed of roses myself.
I just continue to find it funny when obsessive badgers openly whine in the forums about Day Job badges when we all know they are going to do them regardless. It's kind of like mountain climbers complaining about climbing the last 10 feet of Mount Everest. Sure it might be a pain to do but since you're going to do it anyway what's the point in being overly and/or vocally upset about it?
Besides as we all know the "effort" to get them has always been relatively insignificant. To me it's almost on the same level as people with TV remote controls complaining that it's too much trouble to push the buttons. I suppose complaint for complaint's sake will always just be funny to me.
Conclusion: there are enough dayjobs already. -
Quote:How about: Dwarf form gets a fury bar?The point is that Dwarf Form, despite being touted as the 'tanking' form, is actually a very poor substitute for a tank. And worse, Dwarf Form's damage is poor at the same time. Except for the mez protection, you tank better as a Human-form than as a Dwarf; you have more mitigation and recovery tools in human form than you do in Dwarf form, and the increased resist in Dwarf doesn't make up for the loss of them.
A friend of mine, who's analyzed the archetype's performance, has always said 'Dwarf form is a trap.'
This just makes the trap more obvious.
What the archetype *needs* more than anything else is damage. Damage, damage, damage. Even with the previous round of revisions, where damage scalars were tweaked upwards, Peacebringers could use yet MORE of an increase. -
Quote:This.Well, duh!
Just because I'll do it, doesn't mean I have to like it. In fact, that's pretty much why I find it annoying.
My retired alts will all be dropped into the new DJ spots, my badgers wont bother with these until the other new stuff is wrapped in about a day or 2. -
For a mere 2.5 billion inf you get a Gladiator Armor +3 def of your choice of level.
PM me here on the forum or send in game message @Voltor -
Quote:I consider the lightform changes to be a small step in the right direction. More improvements are needed.I really wouldn't mind a revamp of the AT, although I can imagine that the purple Kheldians are pretty content with their lot.
Overall, Kheldians (and really I mean Peacebringers here) strike me as another relic from a period of game design when the devs were inadvertently designing "against the grain". The game is full of this stuff because it's well over 7 years old now. It's foolish to believe that an MMO is designed purely by it's staff, and we're all just along for the ride. Players take a role in influencing the design. Sometimes the designers can anticipate or cater to the player trend, and sometimes they just miss. PB's fall into the latter category, IMO.
Oh, sure there will be some who don't mind the way way that Kheldians play, and it's possible there are even a few who enjoy the constant shapeshifting, or the lack of synergy between PB abilities. But the Devs have demonstrated a new "finesse" in AT/powerset design since the days of Cryptic, and Kheldians, more than any other AT, could benefit from it.
I've considered the possibility that I "just don't get it", that PB's are just not my thing. But I've also been playing this game for as long as it's been running. I've played every AT, and decided that stalkers aren't my cup of tea. Not that they are poor performers, but I just don't care for the play style, so I never leveled one up. PB's, on the other hand, just feel mishandled. In all the years I've been playing, my PB was the only 50 I ever deleted.
With the current changes on Beta, it still just seems like the Devs don't know what to do with PBs. -
Yep that was it, HE-Man out of guilt renounces the power and tosses the sword into the abyss around Castle Greyskull. When Orko learns the truth and tells him he goes to reclaim the sword and the power of greyskull to save Teela. I think either Peter David or JMS wrote that ep.

Funny thing is that the title of this thread is the same as an episode of the original He-Man cartoon where Skeletor tricked He-Man into thinking he accidentally killed an innocent bystander.

Quote:Step 6: disregard Steps 2 thru 5.The MFing Peacebringer
A guide to being MFing.
Step One: Go to character creation screen, select hero, select Peacebringer.
Step Two: Think about what you're doing for a minute.
Step Three: Hit "back" button.
Step Four: Select Warshade.
Step Five: See: "The MFing Warshade."

I would rather fight solo against an army of Kronos Titans that have Arachnos Flyers for air cover on my weakest character, stripped of all IO and incarnate power and under major debuffage, then seek out new Day Job or Zero defeat Mo badges......
....but I'm just strange that way. -
We are NOT amused!

Long as we are talking swords, how about some of the coolest guns in Geekdom?
10: Star Wars stormtrooper gun
9. Star Trek phaser
8. Darien Lambert's keyfob/gun from Time Trax, may not look like a gun but can stun or help send criminals back to the future
7. The 45 longslide with laser sighting that Ahnold used in T1
6. The phased plasma 40 watt range rifle
5. Han Solo's blaster great for blasting bounty hunters from under the table and angering space slugs, not much use against Sith Lords though
4. Dirty Harry's traditional 44 magnum, and also the 44 automag that he used for the final gunfight in Sudden Impact.
3. Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon ray guns, classic!
2. Robocop's gun
and the #1 gun from geek history is...............
1. The LAWGIVER, used by JUDGE DREDD and his fellow judges!
Edit: ah yes can't forget the BFG 9000 -
Also how about the two swords from Record of the Lodoss War?
-
Egad, I forgot all about that one.
Just poked around wikpedia about Hawk the Slayer and it seems a sequel, Hawk the Hunter is being planned.
http://www.hawkthehunter.com/
Also according to the Hawk the Hunter site there is apparently a third movie being planned called Hawk the Destroyer.... -
Swords to include on the list:
1. Connor Macleod's katana, forged ahead of its time, folded about 500 times if I recall Ramirez' description correctly.
2. Duncan Macleod's katana: clan sword of the Japanese lord that took him in and taught him the ways of the samurai, honor, martial arts, the katana...
3. Voltron's blazing sword (5 Lion Voltron, not the dreaded vehicle Voltron)
4. The sword from Sword and the Sorceror: 3 blades, 2 of which could be fired and the handle could detach and serve as a dagger.
5. the master sword from Zelda
6. the master sword that Fortress Maximus used in the Transformers: Headmasters cartoon from japan
7. Kurgan's sword -
Quote:The irony of this upcoming GR Movie is that in the newly launched GR series, it starts off with Blaze accepting a faustian bargain from someone named Adam to purge himself of the Rider, despite knowing that it will randomly choose a new host. Blaze at this point is so sick of being the Rider and for all the constant lies about being an agent of the devil or of heaven that he agrees.Yes, good writing would help. However the characters need the right setting to be fully realized..and a good script for a pg-13 film is still a pg-13 film. We're talking about a soul searing anti-hero that melts his own face off to fight demons, zombies, and all around evil men...That sounds more like a rated R script. Plus seeng Ghost Rider say something stupid like" I'm going to kick your darn butt!" Doesn't mesh as well with the concept as what he can say/Do in a Rated R film.
As for Wolverine... I just really want to see him flip out in a berserker rage in a rated R movie. Blood, guts, swearing, and soiling of pants from those being ouchied must be had!
Preview I saw for the next issue is Mephisto telling Blaze that he's condemned the human race and that he must somehow stop this new GR, yet also tells him he can never be GR again.....which I suspect is the big lie right there and that before the movie launches Blaze will be GR again. Also in the preview we get to see Blaze punch Mephisto and laugh in his face.... -
Quote:Yes, I know there can be only one, but there isn't just one.The Highlander fan in me says "THERE WAS NO HIGHLANDER 3! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!"
The movie-goer in me goes "Highlander 3 wasn't a SEQUEL to Highlander. It was a complete fricking retread of Highlander."
And yes, while it is indeed a sequel in that the Kurgan fight still occurred, it ignored the TV series which was in Season 4 at the time, and was indeed mainly a rewritten HL 1.
Also HL5: the Source was so bad, I'd rather watch HL2 -
Ok so while SR/MA tanks may be a new FoTM, did anyone get a chance to test a SR/Street Justice tank before Street Justice vanished from beta? If so, how did that work?
-
Quote:Yeah I take that statement as a spin statement to help separate this next movie from the first.I find it really hard to take that statement seriously when Disney has come to own Marvel Comics since the first movie came out.
Too bad it's not gonna work, it looks like a talk, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it's a duck.
This is a sequel, regardless of it ignoring the first movie or not.
Just like Highlander 3 was a sequel to the first one, though it ignored HL 2 and how Endgame is a sequel to HL 1 and the TV series that passes the torch to Duncan while ignoring 2 and 3. -
Quote:Those friends/neighbors were taken directly from the Marvel Knights Punisher series titled "Welcome back, Frank" after Garth Ennis restored the Punisher to life after that stupid mini series where he was an agent of the afterlife.War Zone itself being an apology for the horrible Thomas Jane Punisher, aka Friends: The One Where Frank Castle Moves In.
Overall the Tom Jane Punisher was the best of the 3, main problem I have with it is that Travolta forgot how to act. -
Hm Marvel Max movies, the key to getting a movie that apologizes for Punisher War Zone....
-
They can claim its not a sequel all they want, but it's a sequel and not a reboot.
