    .
This, I have some alts that shifted from T3 or T4 Cardiac to T3/T4 Agility and in some cases the results of the change were a bit less then desired. Results vary per AT/powersets of course.

But let's say you have a stone armor brute; that would mean that you would likely be simultaneously running: Granite+Rooted+mudpots+tough+weave, then factor in powers like stealth and maneuvers to aid with reaching that wonderful defense softcap, so we are talking 5 to 7 powers constantly running. Then factor in all your attacks. Stamina and recovery bonuses are nice, but for this hypothetical situation, Cardiac would be my choice before Agility.

How many armor powers and other powers will be toggled and running at the same time on your dark armor alt? If it is 4 or more, then I would suggest Cardiac.

It comes down to what you think will be better:

    1. Faster endurance recovery via Agility
    2. Burn LESS stamina with each and every power via Cardiac

Recover faster or burn less? To each their own and results can vary per AT/powersets.
  2. dual blades or katana with Dark armor and you could make a Dark Jedi/Sith Lord inspired toon.

I'm still not sure about Ruffalo but hopefully he'll be ok, I wasn't a fan of Bana but I thought Norton was OK. Pretty sure I read somewhere that Whedon wanted a "fresh start" for the Hulk and for Banner they were using Bill Bixby's portrayal as inspiration.
I think Norton didn't want to come back due to some issues with 2008 Hulk and of course then there is the money factor. Get someone new in the role and save some money

As to Bixby being an inspiration.....both Hulk movies had several nods and homages/easter eggs to the old Bixby/Ferrigno days, and while that is all fine and dandy for the fans perhaps it is also time to step back and decide to break away from all that.

Granted a lab accident that belts Banner with gamma rays is likely quite cheaper to set up then a gamma bomb detonation, and we got a nice nod to the gamma bomb in Ang Lee Hulk, but other then that being used to zap Banner perhaps it's time to leave the nostalgia behind and forge ahead with making a more fitting Hulk movie?

Ang Lee nailed the HULK's power levels. His super running in the desert and leaping for miles and easily stopping the military and surviving being taken to the edge of the atmosphere? Yes that's the Hulk.

2008 Hulk: he wasn't quite as powerful. Also this Hulk wasn't quite as careful in his fight with the military as shown when they attacked him on campus. It sure looked to me like some soldiers were killed, unlike Ang Lee Hulk that took care to have all the soldiers radioing in that they were alright after Hulk trashed their vehicles. Also his fight with Abomination while cool to watch (nice touch colliding in front of the Apollo), should have leveled the city if they were at full power.

Avengers movie: looks like he's back to where Ang Lee and the comics have him.

Still, Lou can voice the Hulk just fine, IMO. Any lisp or speech problems due to his hearing troubles can easily be fixed by the FX crew. Look what they did for Sabretooth's voice/roar in the first X-men movie.

The concept of a team comic superhero movie scares me a bit because generally I suspect they will spend too much time getting every charictor involved in the action and not enough time making us care about each one of them. Since we have the prequel movies, perhaps it'll be more forgivable here... but I've always had a fear that this movie will be a little too much like GI Joe or Transformers which basically was just about special effects with very little plot development. While, that can be fun, I really really want, instead is a truely great movie. I'll deflinatly see this movie... probably multiple times. But I suspect what I'd prefer to see is a well done Hulk movie... or perhaps a Thor Movie with other Heroes showing up as in a cameo. Joss Whedon name being attached does give me hope.
Well it is pretty much a given that we will get some scenes/dialog of the characters trying to learn to work with each other, with Stark being the primary holdout. Remember in IM2, Natasha's recommendation was Iron Man yes, Tony Stark no, and Fury seemed okay with that since he took the Avengers file from Stark. So you just know that Tony is going to remind them that he was deemed unfit.

"I don't work well with others"
"Big man in a suit of armor, take it away and what are you?"
    "A genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."
Best summary of Stark's character I've seen in a long time.

THOR despite his new found humility and realization that mortals need protecting, etc, he is still the GOD OF THUNDER and must learn to work with "mere mortals".

Captain America: the man is now 70 years out of time and having to adjust to the fact that his fellow soldiers, the Howling Commands, and especially Peggy Carter are all gone.

Black Widow and Hawkeye: two well trained super spy/assassins I don't see much character development for them. But they bring the human element as it were to this fight.

HULK: well okay from what I've been hearing, HULK gets an IQ/personality upgrade for this movie, but let's face it: he's still a ticking bomb of anger. Push him too far and it could turn into Hulk vs. Avengers.

I know that Hawkeye and Black Widow are talented fighters, but they're still bringing rocks and sticks to an Epic-level fight
True their weapons may be the equivalent of rocks and sticks, but then again that is all the Ewoks had in ROTJ and yet they defeated "an entire LEGION" of the Emperor's best troops.

Does it have the power to bring forth the Midgard Serpent? Maybe. Or a close approximation. I would say the legends of the Serpent probably were less reality and more myth. Even so, this looks like a battle worthy of the team.
Well the Cosmic Cube in the comics is basically a cosmic/nigh omnipotent version of Alladin's lamp. Thanos of Titan once used one of the cubes to merge with the universe itself, thus becoming the universe and becoming godlike in power. The Avengers, Drax the Destroyer and Captain Mar-Vell all faced him at that time.

Nothing wrong with Sandman as the sole villain, then again Harry as Goblin 2 made it a two villain movie. But yes it was indeed a shame that the studio execs crammed Venom into that movie and down our throats. Movie should have ended with Brock arising as Venom and thus leaving the door open for Spiderman 4 with Venom as the villain.

Wouldn't be the first time that a company reset the numbers back to original numbering for a big anniversary issue/event, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get a "1000 reset" for those two series numberings.

Judge Dredd Megazine: 5 volumes, each with its own numbering until Vol 5 when they switched the numbering to what it would be if it was one continuous volume.

Then there is Marvel that just LOVES playing the numbers game........

When it's time for a THOR anniversary issue, I suspect that the Mighty THOR goes back to original numbering and Journey into Mystery gets shelved. When it's time for the next big Hulk Anniversary issue, they will revert to the original numbering. Captain America was relaunched at ish 1 for his movie and the other book was renamed to Captain America and Bucky and will soon be Captain America and "Insert guest star here" for awhile, but when the next big anniversary rolls around, they will reset the numbers again. Fantastic Four becomes "Future Foundation" after the fake death of Johnny Storm, now Johnny is back (duh!) and Future Foundation continues with the kids while Fantastic Four comes back from hiatus at ish 600....and so on and so on.

Kind of makes rushing out to get that new "Issue #1" for potential collector value pointless doesn't it?

I think the only way we'd see a big screen DCnU movie is if somehow that version of the comicbooks stayed around for another 10 or 20 years and probably only AFTER a "classic big 7" version had been made first.
Probably. I'd still like to see Batman Beyond as a live movie. Also wouldn't mind seeing Bruce Timm do a DCU animated movie that deals with the "Near Apocalypse of '09" as Terry mentioned twice in Batman Beyond (presumably it was Bruce's last fight with Rha's), or some type of JLU movie that shows Bruce is slowly developing the Batman Beyond suit.

True there are multiple Rider's or at least multiple origins to the spirit of vengeance, but at least with GR you know who his enemies are, primarily which is of course: the devil.

With Wonder Woman....help out my memory here: WHO are her big enemies? WHO is the enemy that would qualify as her arch nemesis? (Besides writers/editors).

With characters like Batman and Superman, you know who their enemies are, and you know which ones are the enemies that could be considered both a personal enemy and a world class enemy: Joker, Rha's Al Ghul, Luthor, Zod, Doomsday.

The Green Lantern movie has to be one of the worst examples of executive meddling in recent memory. From years ago when there was a rumor that Jack Black was going to be GL and they were going for a wacky approach, to trying to turn Hal Jordan into a smart*** like movie Tony Stark. 'Course I still think Jordan's a boring character anyway, but I digress.
Hal is supposed to be a space cowboy/adventurer along the lines of Kirk or Malcolm Reynolds. What we got in the GL movie was Ryan Reynolds emulating Hal Jordan from the Emerald Dawn era of GL....not the best choice of both actor and version of Hal.

Also for an example of executive meddling/bad editing that makes a movie worse then it is: Highlander 4: Endgame, there are multiple versions of this movie, some changes made to correct glaring mistakes such as in the theatrical version they stated Sanctuary was on HOLY GROUND, yet Kell kills the immortals in the Sanctuary thus breaking the rule about Holy Ground, so subsequent versions omit that it was indeed HG, and that is just for starters. Movie editors and executives sometimes need to just sit back a bit and also research the history/continuity of their characters a bit more.

I suspect they will use the classic big 7 as they might be more recognizable and more welcome to see for classic fans that are not fond of nuDCU...

The mouth looks organic, I say that because if you pause it when the serpent is furthest right on screen and turning back towards chasing Iron-Man you can see that whatever it is it actually has needle-like teeth in a mouth. It also has on what looks like metal armour that carries the alien troops on its tail (as you saw them jumping from it on the previous trailer).
Could be anything really at the moment, organic, cybernetic, whatever it is it looks great.

The only worry I have about films of such scale and spectacle is the story pacing.
I can only think of two films that are so well paced that they seem to fit a lifetime into a couple of hours; one is Superman the movie and the second was the original StarWars film.
That said I doubt it will all be wrapped up as the film closes. Kevin Feige has already said that Disney/Marvel has greenlit IronMan 2, Thor 2, Captain America 2 and an Avengers sequel and that The Avengers™ films will most likely be a trilogy. So you never know this the first Avengers film could end up being a cliffhanger!...
Hmmmm Fin Fang Foom....now that could be interesting indeed.

I don't think this will be a cliffhanger ending, but I suspect that after the credits roll we may get a bonus scene that shows who the next big villain will be......and I'm hoping it is THANOS.

She may have been given her electric stinger wristbands that she's used in the comics before.

I agree. They should do it similar to the first episode of JL Animated. Batman and Superman have teamed up to face a huge menace, it's too big for them and the other heroes arrive and they join forces.

Financially safer I would think then risking origin movies for each JL founder that may turn out to be lackluster bombs like GL.

The worst of which is Hawkeye which was little more than a cameo in the Thor movie. Of which imop was probably the worst of the Marvel movie studio films to come out. It's an ok movie, better than a lot of other movies to come out, super hero or not, but they set the bar so high with Iron Man

It just feels like they're rushing forward with the films of cap and thor simply to get to Avengers. While I really hope the pay off is worth it, I'd perfer if they had taken their time to put out even better films and then really hit the ball out of the park with Avengers. Now though, they don't have to try as hard to do so, which may be part of the plan

Either way, Avengers is looking great.

DC / WB would have a lot of work ahead of them to really establish the core JL characters in the minds of the general movie going audience. They'd have to do a way better job than they did with GL. If Avengers does really well and all they see is $$ and move too quick just to capitalize, they're likely to do an even worse job. Which would be a shame.
I agree the bar was raised with Iron Man, but I'll disagree on THOR being bad. Not quite as good as IM, but not a bad film, same with Cap.

As to DC/WB...yeah they seem to screw up most of their movies. perhaps they should do a JL movie similar to how they all met up and teamed up in the first episode of JL Animated. Superman and Batman each get a movie that is linked to the other and helps establish a JL movie. JL movie comes out, Batman and Superman are teamed up to face a menace and the other heroes get called in and they all join forces. That might be more efficient and financially safe then cranking out an introduction movie for each JL founder, especially given WB/DC's reputation with some of their movies (Superman 3, 4 ,Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Catwoman....).

Also I think DC has abandoned their Captain Marvel movie project, which is too bad. That is one movie I'd like to see, but now nuDC refers to him only has SHAZAM and is dropping the Captain Marvel name. On a "strange note of coincidental timing" Marvel is now announcing what appears to be the actual resurrection of Captain Mar-Vell in Secret Avengers....

Well I remember before the nuDC reboot (which I hope gets reversed soon) that DC was hinting at copying Marvel's movie formula after the next Dark Knight movie is done. Supposedly the Batman movies get rebooted and DC will begin to interlock them with the next Superman movie and so on until it culminates into the Justice League.

Problem 1: creating a good Wonder Woman movie to help link to the JL concept. They've had problems for years trying to make a WW movie.

Problem 2: Green Lantern didn't seem all that well received, so will it be rebooted or will the risk a sequel to link it to JL?

Problem 3: Aquaman: considered by some fans to be a joke of a character (superfriends stigma lingers), yet he was done right on JL/JLU. Could Aquaman support his own movie to be linked to JL or be brought in during the JL movie? This same problem would apply to the Martian Manhunter and Hawkman or Hawkgirl.

Problem 4: they've had problems making a FLASH movie, the TV series back in the day was fun and I'm sure he could support his own movie.

Hm, I wonder if in this movie we will briefly see Captain America picking up and using THOR's hammer as he has done twice in the comics?

Also I laugh at how the Black Widow says to Banner that she will persuade him to come with her and we see a few dozen SHIELD agents all locked and loaded outside his home. Wouldn't be much problem for the HULK, but Hulking out takes a little time in which he'd be vulnerable.

I doubt Whedon's just going to have Loki show up with an army without giving them any kind of motivation or background, so there may be some degree of shoe-horning involved and whatever time spent delving into that is going to take away from Stark one-liners and Hulk smashy smashy.
I suspect the movie will start with a few minutes of Loki creating his alliance with the invaders then unleashing them on Earth. ODIN learns of this somehow and agrees to send THOR to Earth using his ODIN power since the Rainbow bridge is likely still broken. After that its' a matter of rounding up the other heroes and getting them to play nice with each other and save the world.

Well presuming the article is accurate, and it likely is; then Bill appears to be out as far as GB 3 goes. That's fine since I wouldn't want a Bill Murray in it that was essentially phoning in his performance due to only wanting a paycheck and not doing the movie in and of itself. As to going without Murray, it could be done if the script is right. It's a done deal that it will be a new generation of busters anyway, so saying that Venkmen is dead or "lost in another dimension" that they cannot reach isn't too much of a stretch. Having a CGI ghost Murray appear ala Obi Wan.....hm, maybe. Might be better to just not have him in it at all, IF the third movie is done.
  23. Uhm.................................WOW! Pardon me as I pick my jaw up from the ground.

That shot of Hulk catching IM was great. From the looks of it, I would guess that Cap and IM are intercepting THOR at the place he lands at on Earth and we will get the classic "heroes misunderstand each other, let's fight" routine for a bit. Hulk looks and acts so far like his IQ has been elevated from both of his movies, that is good.

As to that thing at the end when IM said he was bringing the party to them.....alien monster, alien robot, or the midgard serpent? Pick one. If it is the midgard serpent that could be bad for THOR given the prophecies of Ragnarok.

We pretty much agree on this movie. I have the director's version of the first movie in my library. Nice changes from the theatrical, so perhaps a director cut of the sequel will offer some improvement. Faint hope, I know
