Long live fast recharge times and timing when it comes to casting
Not that it will help much cause these days I tend to team with a kinetic and empath anyway(increase density + cm + fortitude ftw!
)
-
I'd say rad/kin or sonic/rad would be killers as well.. especially vs those nasty defense-heavy sets that can suck in PvE but rule in PvP
-
as far as i know CE is auto-hit yeah.. or I'm just lucky I never met the stalker that could AS through it
Funny thing is that Ice PvE builds fare pretty well in PvP as well. Duke is not really a PvP build (yet some powers are tweaked to PvP) and not really a PvE build. I can imagine that Ice tanks with CE and icicles can be even more annoying to stalkers than just my mere CE (and ice patch..)
-
well seeing I missed it this morning thanks to shopping (ugh...) I'd like to do it with Ice Duke, lvl 30 ice/ice tank if theres still room. I'll prolly be playing my WS till then so gimme a shout

In the end you can play a stalker and get easy kills which is why it can be an easy class to play in part but dont assume its just for n00bs as when the game is raised like all other AT's a Stalker has to raise their game also.
[/ QUOTE ]
He didnt say its the AT for PVP new people exclusively. What he says is that every beginner to PvPing in Co* will be taking a stalker as its the best AT for a beginner to learn the ropes around PvP zones. However a stalker in the hands of really skilled players like Stalk-obot,Hackit and Gimpy truly excel weather teamed or not and are good challenge.

aye thats exactly how I meant it. People are overrating stalkers and for new players they are an easy way to learn the ropes of PvP. Of course until they find that one day where experienced PvPers enter the zone and they find out they are dead meat.
When I'm playin Duke in Sirens or BB, the stalkers I fought before come nowhere near me cause they know I'll rip em up. That leaves the experienced PvP stalkers and the "new" stalkers. The experienced ones got new tactics and know they shouldnt try to AS me as it simply wont work. The new ones keep trying to AS me, fail, pull out, go back in, try again, rinse and repeat till I finish the villain I was still fighting and decide to turn on the poor stalker.
Don't get me wrong, I know good pvp stalkers and some can just put up a good fight. However stalkers are overrated and a new player can easily use one to take out some unsuspecting pvpers who dont know how to battle stalkers.
Like I said, any AT can be good, it just depends on the player playing them.
Oh and crystalwolf.. damn your telekinesis! Fun to see how people didnt know ice melee got a hold however lol -
well you know what they say.. If brute force doesnt work, you aint using enough.
-
Grats mate, well-deserved 50. So now I know who that WS was that bugged me with tells asking bout his build
oh and phil, you just KNOW that aint true...
WS r t3h pWnz0rZ!!!! -
same ere... shopping's a "female dog"
o and prawnee... you know stage is a hunk, not scary -

come to sirens and i will show you why :P

please tell me you're on Union, I'll gladly take the duke there and show you what I do to pitiful stalkers
anyway, most people say stalkers are the best pvp class... dont think this is entirely true. However they are the easiest to play for pvp n00bies. Once you know the ropes in PvP, other classes fare just as well and dont rely on you waiting around for some poor hero to drop his guard so you can smash that sword through his gut.
My most annoying enemies were dominators and corrupters. Mind/psi doms are good in pvp, seeing most ATs lack psi resistance and mind is one of the best controlling sets. Dark or Ice corrupters are also good in PvP thanks to their debuffs. A good player knows how to play his AT and he can turn it into a dangerous killing machine. -
crazy as I might be, I love ice/ice. Ice can however be a tricky build to play and someone new to tanking can easily be faceplanting. Also if you go through hollows rather than the normal city zones, you will see the outcasts can be nasty if they got matches/scorchers seeing at the low lvls fire will kill you. However a good ice tank build has no problem tanking as enemies have a hard time hitting you, yet IF they hit you they hit you good.
If you dont mind being hit and just want to soak all that damage, be inv tank. No defense at the lower lvls, but the damage res makes sure you just take lower dmg for all the hits. So in other words, you gotta keep an eye on your health bar otherwise you'll be faceplanting at the low lvls.
If you can bear with a tank till lvl 32 and want to be the overlord of damagetaking, roll a stone tank. No armor can beat granite in damagesoaking potential. However stone gets debuffs on your attacking ability.
Dont have much experience with fire post-ED so afraid I cant give much help with that. -
If I'm online (not sure cause of RL issues), count Ice Duke in (lvl 30 ice/ice tank)
-
fear blasters will be bout the only AT this is possible for.. cause i think tanker vs tanker for instance will result in a sure draw.
Also with 100k fee to enter, I only see higher lvls or ppl with high lvl alts entering. -
well, fear you have to count del and me out then
-
soz mate, cant make it, continuing doc quarterfield tf today at 8 pm. So unless we can do it within an hour (or schedule it a bit earlier) I cant make it.
-
I got 2 recharge SOs on patch, and I can have 1 perma and 2 at a time for bout 5 secs or so. Though EM ice tanks cant get ice patch, so for those.. get chilling embrace, love it.
I didnt have problems for first 20 lvls with duke.. but then again, that was I4, where tanks used to be TANKs. -
yeah, eclipse just turns you into instant-tank, though vs malta (and other mez-heavy mobs) I suggest you still use dwarf form, cause nova has no mez resists
-
the lvl ranges are complicated, but from what I recall it's:
to join: 36-50 (no auto-exemps)
to get the trial from contact: 38-40 or 38-42 dunno exactly
to get the weapons: 36-42
enemies: lvl 42 rikti (on heroic) -
count stage in.. ill/ff troller. Well, only if I finish doc quarterfield tf today
-
gimme a call on @stagefright if im online.. got a variety of toons I can bring, although i already got the badge on my 50 and my WS, so i'd prefer to bring Ice Duke (ice/ice tank), Lady earth (earth/storm troller) or adrenalin (kin/elec defender).
Btw it helps ALOT if you have someone with invis+tp. -
doh wouldve loved to do it, but ill be still doing doc quarterfield tf then
ah well, gettin nef to 50 has its price -
just hope this time there are enough people to fill 2 teams and ppl are willing to balance unlike eden trial
-
meh there are multiple burning barrels, dont think much of it..
however how come in such a destroyed area the streetlights are still burning? -

Indeed. This coming week we will start our tests with the DE 'walls' mentioned previously. Note: These walls are actually chains of DE GMs standing next to each other. We're talking double walls of at least 10 DE each.
Don't say we didn't warn you
[/ QUOTE ]
most walls have 20-25 to be exact
bout the greater devs, i know they dont have a GM type, however there are other monsters walking around (in those GM walls) that are ranked lieut.
Bout clearing the forests, did you only clear one or all 3 of em? -
aight, thought you said it was a private chan
PS. aint it /chanjoin? -
nother thing i find weird about the hive... there arent any devoured walking around. Only the grass type, crystal type, rock type and fungi type DE.
Bout the 9 doors, we only FOUND 9 thusfar, might be more. Also those doors dont give a blue hand icon when hovering over them, and also they arent attackable (tried tab-targetting and casting pets, none affect the door). However I dont think they put those doors there just for scenery.
In the portal corp building however are 3 doors that are clickable (i.e. blue hand appears) however you get the default "you cannot enter" message.
If it WAS SG-only intended, it looks like you can activate a mish somehow in that portal corp building.
Also, those 3 forests jiaozy discovered.. it doesn't look like much, or does it? The monsters guarding it seem pretty hell bent on not leaving it unguarded. Also inside the clearing there is always 1 tree left out, not targettable though. Then there is a very small wood without a clearing what i dont know the function off.
However, if hami really devours the complete earth, why are those trees still alive?
