    Toggle Dropping

well of course 1 v 1 against a controller you want stand much of a chance with toggledrops.. thats what teams are for. It actually is harder than it sounds to overcome the mez resistance as a troller cause you need to stack your mezzes. In 1v1 this aint hard, just stay out of reach and keep smackin on those holds. However if teams start to get involved you might find yourself in trouble real soon.

    Toggle Dropping

    [ QUOTE ]

Why should being held drop ur toggles? Yes, you can't use ur powers to attack, or do anything but stand still. But your mind is still free to keep those defenses up. Being disorientated should drop toggles as you can't 'think' to keep ur defenses up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    what about mind control then?

also, holds do have to overcome mez resistance. If I trot along with my tank in sirens, I cant remember losing a toggle to a dom before i was completely held cause he fired up domination. In this case he just overcomes my mez resistance, mezzes me and yes i lose my toggles.

    Toggle Dropping

have to disagree, holds are a different type of toggle drop compared to the blasters.
Once you cast a hold, it has to overcome mez resistance, only when it overcomes this, you are held and your toggles drop because you are held. However if you compare this to the blasters, it doesnt have to overcome any resistance at all but just drops.

    Warshade Problem

if you go human-only or mainly human, then stamina is good to have.. if you go multiform, stamina isnt really necessary. If it IS, you really gotta check your slots/playstyle.

Spad kinda hit the spot with his remark being overpowered. Eclipse + mez protection = unstoppable killing machine. It will have tanklike protection, and higher damage + ranged attacks. On top of that, eclipse doesnt have a drawback as soon as it runs out.

As stated, if you go multiform, drop stamina and get acrobatics instead if its such a big issue. Or, just use dwarf against mez-heavy enemies. Personally, on the whole trip to 50, even against malta and rikti i didnt find the lack of mez protection in human/nova form that bothersome.
  5. looks good, and most points have already been covered before me.. however as said, I wouldnt put 3 rec rdx in PFF. Its a situational power at best and it always is recharged when you need it. Maybe if you pvp alot more recharges would be good, but in PvE i dont see the use.
  6. bursts?!

hasten + recharge enhances + your friendly neighbourhood kinetic ftw!!
  7. indeed, MMs arent really a liability in PvP, yet its imo the hardest char to master in PvP. In PvE, most MMs i team with like to send their henchies in, then stand back and watch the carnage. Do this in PvP and you are dead.

Most MMs got great buffs/debuffs.. USE THEM! Also in PvP, its good to let your pets have both an attack and a decoy role. Use them to mask your MMs movement, then appear behind em and blast em to pieces. In zonal PvP, people tend to ignore the pets and start searching for the MM instead. Mask your presence and your henchies can shred the opposition once they start to decide to do something bout the henchie nuisance.

As syn said though, its a style of fightin that might not be appropriate to most people.. but hey that's what you're a mastermind for
  8. tried calling the exterminator if your base is infected with bugs?

    mwahahaha

hurry up noir, life on coh/cov aint the same without you
  11. yup, if you want to fight/tank an AV as a WS, your best bet is to keep a mob (or multiple) near him alive so you can use those to fire mire and eclipse. When I done the 4th shard tf with nef I tanked malaise and mother mayhem with ease, however it required my team not killing the mobs around them before i buffed myself up.
  12. aye, plus the (prolly trivial) fact that the day-night shift takes way longer than the night-day shift.

A following expedition will prolly need about 30 heroes so we can do some monsterclearing
  13. the things they say are iirc "for the hamidon" and "the hamidon will be pleased" though i doubt it has further meaning
  14. the response was "my lips are sealed" from states

also i doubt that the growing of plants in eden and saying for hamidon is the clue. After all, all the DE say something like that. I think it more means something like "we serve hamidon", growing plants to devour the earth

Then again, RCS is a trial zone as well which doesnt make sense.

    [/ QUOTE ]
RCS is a trial zone because you can start the 3rd respec in it, I think..
But it's 2:20 and I may be wrong..

    [/ QUOTE ]

true, however it only has a contact starting the trial which is in Terra Volta. The other trial zones (faultline, eden and terra volta) have (or in the case of faultline used to have) an entrance to a trial map (the dam, eden spire, terra volta core). RCS doesnt have this thats why it doesnt make sense to me. Not sure bout hamidon, might be called a trial zone cause its linked to eden.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Or should we just somehow confuse ourselves in the Tyrant mission and beat up Statesman and steal his nerf bat?

    [/ QUOTE ]

im always up for this, but then again, dont actually think we need to have a reason to beat up states?

bout the summary, you summarized it pretty well and basically my current thoughts as well. My thought is the walls force you a way around the hive and that this tour must be "completed" in a specific way. Done some extra research and it does seem the hive is a trial zone rather than a hazard zone. Then again, RCS is a trial zone as well which doesnt make sense.

As stated before, if there indeed is a trial there should be a contact triggering it. The new colorcoding system should prove finding the contact easier if there is any. However, if there indeed WAS a contact starting some kind of hami trial, dont you think the americans wouldve found him/her?

Woodsman indeed seems like the most likely person to talk to, however seeing he already gives a TF i doubt he triggers something with hami.

Which leaves us PC, the badge there is called "time bandit". We also know that hami used to be a human. So might it be able that hami somehow is turned back into his human equivalent? Wild guessing here and doubt its the solution, but it WOULD make sense. Personally if there is any alternate solution I reckon it has to do something with the DE storyline. After all it wouldnt make sense gamewise to have a solution completely different from the story line?

Clearing the forests, storywise, also could have a reason. Seeing hami likes to devour the earth, its odd that these forests still exist. They arent devoured yet... coincidence or a reason? If you look closely though, these forests are all at the warwalls so it may just be that they should be linked to the eden forests and added for some extra scenery.

Bout the clickable doors in PC, if a mish aint triggered in one of those buildings, I doubt they should be used.

Anyway, pretty tired now and thinking too much makes my head hurt atm.. Think i'll go have another look in the hive one of these days.
  17. the stun on unchain essence is just a handy secondary effect at best, should see it as a "mini-nuke"

PB pets indeed are stupid, I pvped against PBs who use their pets only to have them float around me for the complete length of the match.

About the "WS are more controllerish, PB are more damage" discussion.. as J pointed out, I dont find WS controllerish AT ALL. It always implies WS arent able to deal damage compared to PBs which definately is not true.

As stated before, PB are all around decent, but the WS really shine at the higher lvls. I would also add to that the difference in buffs, PBs got self-buffs (i.e. click n forget) while WS got mob-activated buffs (i.e. the more mobs around you, the higher the buff, yet it can also miss). However, if you get the full buff of WS buffs, they outperform the PB buffs (2x mire on a large mob = dmg/acc cap).

Take a look at the list of powers and decide what goes best for you. Personally I loved my WS and just couldnt get into PBs. I loved Stygian Circle (dead *ahem*, arrested mobs around you give you hp and end, 2 or 3 are enough for full hp/end), eclipse (oooooh hello res cap and aoe mayhem in nova form), the pet (major damage and nice aoe, also love the fact you can multi-cast these) and of course the mires and quasar.

If you compare both PB and WS ultimate defensive power (light form vs eclipse) I'd have to say eclipse is better. It has psi resistance, allows you to shapeshift and has no drawback when it runs out. Whilst if you compare it to light form, light form stops you from shapeshifting so you have to rely on your human powers and when it wears off you are drained of your hp and end. Of course the drawback on eclipse is that you need mobs around you to activate it and realize its full potential.

For what you intend to do, I think both are good enough. However if you team alot I'd suggest WS, if you want to solo at times a PB is better. Cause in solo mode the mobs arent big enough for a WS to buff himself up properly.

and maybe J's WS... and cap's WS... maybe even Raz's WS...
Seriously, they are just uber at 38.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    not J.. he's a n00b, i just agree with the original list of 3
  19. Just going to act out of memory now, so some points might be flawed (have to check my story arcs again for correct details)

    [ QUOTE ]
I get their aliens, part of their life cycle is kind of symbiotic, host-like etc, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

yup, iirc they only live for 10 years in their "normal" habitat. However, the nictus (which are also an alien life form) started to act like parasites, unwillingly taking over a host's body to live longer. To battle the nictus, the peacebringers and warshades did the same thing, however they merged with willing hosts.

    [ QUOTE ]
Warshades are different in background to Peacebringers how?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Warshades are nictus, but they turned to the "good" side. Reformed nictus as you might say.

    [ QUOTE ]
Are they supposed to relate to your character somehow? In theory of course?

    [/ QUOTE ]

well, my WS is linked to my original 50... however generally speaking your 50 isnt linked to your kheld. Of course feel free to give the story your own twist if you want

    [ QUOTE ]
    Why are they in Paragon?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because the nictus are here as well, the kheldians fight an epic battle with the nictus for ages and ages throughout the whole galaxy. Earth aint the only planet where the nictus vs peacebringer/warshades war is fought. The main reason it is centered in paragon city is because of the Council.

    [ QUOTE ]
The Nictus are surgically enhanced evil ones, is this right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

not really, nictus are aliens just like the warshades/peacebringers (in fact, as stated before, warshades ARE nictus). The nictus travelled to earth and started occupying humans so the peacebringers/warshades did the same. Peacebringers/warshades merged with willing hosts, whereas nictus took over the ones weak of mind or body. The ones with strong enough a mind could force the nictus out. However the nictus acted like voices in someone's head and promised great strength, riches, power, etc etc to someone to persuade em to let the nictus stay in. Eventually the nictus "took over" the 5th column, thus producing the council. Arakhn is the boss of all nictus with requiem second in command.

    [ QUOTE ]
And why are Void Stalkers and Quantums always popping up to do them harm?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Voids are mercenaries trained by Arakhn. They are humans infused with so many nictus fragments and modified with Quantum energy that they turn into the kheldian hunter as we know them. The combination of nictus fragments and quantum energy makes them highly resistant to kheld damage, while causing extra damage to khelds themselves. These mercenaries are then rented to other groups to hunt down khelds.

[POSSIBLE SPOILER] I dont know exactly why they are classed as a seperate villain group instead of being part of the council. It might be because they are mercenaries, but may also be because Arakhn plans on taking over the Council for herself, and use its giant network to fight the khelds. [/POSSIBLE SPOILER]

Quantums are nothing more than normal baddies armed with a Quantum Array Gun (a gun infused with nictus fragments and modified by quantum energy)

hope this all helps you a bit
  20. well and of course the fact why create a complete new zone just to house a monster? It isnt used for mishes, nor is it used for unting the monsters there, what use is it?

Must say i myself am still one of those conspiracy theorists
  21. must say the drop was kinda chaotic due to a bit of miscommunication between PA team and the other key teams that have to move in first. Us droppers went in before most teams were formed so we could spread out over the blob. We did a few test drops and found out how we could position the decoys in such a way every mito was aggroed and was shooting AWAY from the nucleus.

Seeing teams were still formed we were hovering up there waiting for the signal when the teams were about to move in so we could drop the decoys. However that signal didnt come and after that I heard some shouts from the tankin team and saw alot of orange names appearing, on which we decided to drop right away. After this, there was a serious lack of orange names.

Must admit I had quite some fun up there seeing complete teams fall into the blob and die . Then again, also remember that time where I was in a PA team with only 2 people with fly and one of those had group fly to keep the rest in the air. Shortly after our groupflyer got shot out of the air and the 6 people without fly were just hovering there for a bit, saying "was that our flyer" "ehh... yea..." "uh oh.." "this is gonna hurt.." after which the complete PA team but 1 fell into the blob .

    NEW Hami Raid

prob is you still need tons of em to beat him anyway... having one every night? brrr.. weekly? ouch.. biweekly? hmm.. might consider yet doubt it.. once a month? think i could handle..

if you DO plan to do one each night, dont count on me bein bombin every time
  23. all depends if you solo or team alot, the mobs in solo are so small eclipse does make a difference, but not as big as when you team, simply because in a team the spawns are bigger
  24. grats and thanks to everybody that helped to take him down. Of course special thanks go out to jin00by over there and that list of ppl he composed. However in contrast to that list, special thanks also goes out to babel for the mental support and co-leadin of the PA team .

Now of course some special credit to all the PA bombers:
    Skull Bender
    Planetus
    7 sins - Wrath
    Psydock
    Babel Horror
    Paragon Girl
    Aesir
    and of course yours truly

great job guys, your patience was tested but we had an awesome PA drop. Sure, some idiots cause some of us to drop by flying into hami, then flying up to us to let the AoEs kill us. However as soon as those decoys went down, I dont recall a single orange name in the blob (apart from stupid people who attacked mitos instead of nucleus). Which of course is the sign of a welldone PA drop. Great job guys!

P.S. having to do an allnighter to finish a report just cause you attended a hami raid SUCKS
