There is no debt in MA missions.

Well, I see that the OP likes RP therefore Virtue and Infinity are your best bet. Freewhat? never heard of it.

Also note that "safe mode" uses default settings: 800x600 If I remember correctly.

I don't think you need drastic changes.
This actually happened to me, just have your friend lower the in-game resolution to the next lowest available.

That fixed it for me since my in-game resolution was higher than my desktop one (1280x800)
