I would not be opposed to that. If anyone would like to submit their costume for a future makeover, all they need to do is PM me. I'd even let them critique the entries.

Quote:Well, I'm not asking that existing costumes be re-created, and I'm certainly not suggesting that people play these in the game, but if the Devs do have an issue with it, I won't put up a fuss, and shut it down.I love the idea, but I feel like it won't exactly fly well with the Dev's considering this is the kind of stuff that got them sued... Unless it doesn't really count since it'll be new costumes? I don't know, I'm just throwing that out there. I'll probably take part, because I love making new costumes, even if I don't get to use them!

While I was watching Watchmen again Friday night, I started thinking about their costumes, and even though they aren't necessarily the most accurate depictions of what's in the comic, the comic book costumes weren't all that great either.
So, to kick off this new Makeover contest, I'm selecting Adrian Veidt, aka Ozymandias, as our first subject. Your entries are due September 4th, by midnight EST.

HOW IT WORKS:
I select an existing comic book character worthy of a re-design, and the contest applicants create a new costume for that character using the CoH costume creator.
I will judge each entry based on creativity and design aesthetic, providing a brief critique for each applicant.
There will be one winner. That winner will receive a sketch of the character of their choice as drawn by me. Samples of my art can be found at my Deviant Art gallery linked in my signature.
RULES:
You may use any pieces you have access to (including Vet rewards, AE items, etc.).
You may make changes to race and/or gender, but please provide conceptual justification with your entry.
You will have two weeks to create and submit your entry by posting it in this thread.
PRIZE:
The winner gets a sketch from me and the satisfaction of creating a kick-*** design.
Fine print: I will make changes to this post as needed, should questions/concerns/disputes warrant it. -

While I was skimming through this thread, I got to thinking...
Instead of resurrecting the Color Palette Costume Contest for a third time, why not try one that might be a little less work?
Who would be interested in a superhero/villain makeover contest?
Basically, instead of a five-color palette, I or another judge would select an existing comic book hero or villain, and the contestants would have to come up with a cool new look using the CoH costume creator.
And because my therapist thinks I need to draw more, the prize would be a full body sketch of your character. -

Conceptually, I'll be using Flight as my travel power, but it shouldn't be too hard to swap out those powers. Are you relying on Ninja Run for the first 30 levels for the most part? Does Hurdle add anything to Ninja Run? I thought I read somewhere that NR would cancel it out. I'm also curious as to why you would slot Brawl. I don't think I've ever seen that done before.

Thanks, Cuppa. Are you using the same graphics card?

I have recently returned to the game after a few months away, and I've been playing some of my older alts that I've neglected in the past. My blaster's been faceplanting a lot, so either my tactics suck or my build is weak.
I tend to solo more than I PuG, so I'm guessing I need maximum damage in order to kill before getting killed.
I'm on a Mac, so I can't use Mids, but I've been messing around with SuckerPunch's CoH Planner. Unfortunately, this doesn't have the nifty pop-ups that tell me what set bonuses are available to me. Does anyone know of a handy site to use for reference? -
Sounds like we have the same iMac, except you have more RAM. I was just looking for some guide to recommended graphics settings. Hopefully, someone with more computer savvy than me will provide some help.

Sounds like fun. I'll have to see if I can get in on this.

So completely full of envy right now.

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate it.
VexXxa: No cake. Can you believe no one makes Star Wars cake pans anymore??
CR: I hope you like cake, cuz I'm taking Edith! -
Nice job, LJ! I'll consider this a birthday present since this is the day I've first seen it.
And, i think there was a compliment in there somewhere, so thanks!

What's Going Rouge?
Is that some kind of all-makeup expansion pack, complete with Captain Mako concealer and Ghost Widow eye shadow? -

When's the next DRAT? I need to take some more screenies of my other toons, since Midnight-Man isn't floatin' yer boat.

Jim Lee is also on the aforementioned "artists I wish I could draw like" list.

Quote:That is an amazing piece. I would love to have that poster, but I'd hate to have to pay for a custom frame. I think that one was huge.I agree, I really like Adam's artwork. All of the women in his artwork are individuals, each with their own attributes. I like that he doesn't just plant Triple-D's on all of them. His 'Women of DC' is a perfect example.
I also wish I could afford those statues based on his cover illustrations, or even all of the mini busts he designed.
