Quote:*points you over to the Brute Forum and then points you to Energy Aura*I would like to see Kinetic Armor.
Maybe give it some kind of toggle selection system which will change your density. Low density for positional defense with a movement/recharge bonus, high density for high resists and a movement/recharge debuff with a damage bonus, and extremely high density for a phase/hold power like Hibernate. -
Quote:Indomitable Will/Mind over Body = Willpower. What's the difference between that and a tankermind?
Anyway, a psi tank set would be nice. Especially if we get to do that "intangable but still can attack" trick those carnival gals can do.. though that might mess with some "countdown" attacks admittedly. Psionic mastery also already contains a mini-tank pool list, with Link Mind, Indomitable Will, Mind over Body, World of Confusion...
Dark and Will have pretty hefty Psi mitigation tools already. -

The APP pets are useless for Brutes. They do pitiful damage and have an absurd recharge time. Skip it.
-
Too much damage output. A brute with two DoT auras (such as Spine/Elec) would be ludicrously good at farming and leveling. The game would essentially be easy mode, save for tougher fights.

I think I'll get in on this as well. I need help picking who to try this with first. Anyone mind telling me which sounds the most interesting?
Human Air Horn- Sonic/NRG Blaster, mutant. Got his powers from a motorcycle accident that injured him so badly it awoke his latent mutation.
Overseer Kuznetsov- Crab Spider. Big ol' Russian guy with a bit of a bipolar (anywhere between furious and hilarious) temperament.
Tyranny of Silence- Night Widower. Arachnos' chief ambassador to other nations/organizations. He's mute, and spends much of his time buried in the international paperwork Arachnos has to deal with.
Jolt-Charge Thunder- Elec/Regen Scrapper, mutant. College frat-boy who got his powers after being struck by lightning during a frat party in the middle of a thunderstorm.
Neuronomicon- Ill/Kin 'troller, mutant. Gained his powers by awakening his mutation during a surgical procedure that replaced his entire nervous system with a 'neurokinetic' network that wires to his brain. He spends his time teaching neuroscience at Steel Canyon U and saving the day when needed.
Vince Blood- Pistol/Kin, natural. He owns a bar and seems to be in a constant state of inebriation. There's a little more to him than that, but since he never mentions it, no one quite knows why he seems so different.
Exec (Tovias Orqell)- Mind/Psi Dom, natural. He's a powerful psychic/telekinetic with a love of the Human Resources business. Since he can make people do whatever he wants just by thinking it, his HR company Orqell Services is one of the best HR agencies in the world.
Ulrich Van Sturm- Traps/DP 'fender, natural. He owns the company Van Sturm Industries, a worldwide vendor of small devices and military-grade inventions.
Steven "Synaptus" Murwin- Elec/Rad 'troller, mutant. Steven, a loyal Praetorian, gained his powers while dosing on a designer drug. The drug caused him to emit electricity and various forms of energy discharge, not limited to radiation. So he started a metal band. His band 'Six Levels, One Boss' is a huge hit in Praetoria, even with the stoic Emperor Cole. Such singles include "Resist my Fist", "Desyndicate", "Vice Grip Vindicator" and "Grim Enricher". -

Quote:Just to add a touch of humor, here...First I need to note that I had a great deal of difficulty working through this thread, because of the connotations behind the whole 'futa' thing. Still, the fact that this was approached with a genuine concern for what was most appropriate for everyone involved let me press ahead.
I think one of the more important things got mentioned sort of in passing in one of Seebs' adorably opaque collection of thoughts:
This is significant. If you bring attention to something that is sufficiently 'abnormal', then it becomes A Central Facet. You risk a lot of RP twisting away from your character and her relationships with other characters, into 'Well, obviously it's about the wang.'
Even for the open minded, if you put something in the bio, that's going to draw attention to it, and that will get people thinking about it as a core focus for the character concept.
I've actually counseled a lot of newer RPers against playing things like transgendered or even intersexed (using the RL definition) characters simply because when you get caught up in details like this, they can overshadow the more important emotional elements of the character. You get stuck on the physical bits, and start missing the person that really matters. Once they're more used to tending to the simpler (but often more important) things, then playing characters with more complicated issues is more reasonable.
But even experienced RPers have trouble with sorting these things out when they're encountering someone else's character. It's the first impression problem, in another form: The initial framework someone is going to build of your character is going to come from your costume, your bio, and whatever you say/emote while they're reading your bio.
Be really sure anything they see in there is really something you want them using as a framework for deciding who your character is, because even if you get the chance to demonstrate your character's depth, that initial framework is going to be there, and influence how they interpret things.
"Physical bits" may be the most relevant part of that entire post. :P -
I'm very sorry for your loss as well, Lady C. Your prompts were so enjoyable and gave me a chance to write, something I don't get all that often.
Needless to say, you've inspired me; I may just start doing prompts of my own in your honor.
/e giant hug for Lady C
May 2011 bring you great things and smooth sailing. -
It's been almost 5 years and I still can't play a damn Grav/NRG dominator.

I would love asymmetry in the Cyborg, Clockwork, Praetoria Police and Booster Pack shoulders.

Not ONE person in this thread has mentioned Bodyguard mode, THE reason you take Provoke.
Bodyguard mode splits all incoming damage between you and your pets, the equivalent of having a boatload of damage resistance so long as you have all of your pets out. While you're busy taunting and soaking damage, your pets are busy shooting things to death and soaking damage.
To be in bodyguard mode, your pets must be on Goto/Defensive or Follow/Defensive. -
Don't forget Broadsword; all the benefits of Ninja Blade without looking like a ninja.

How exactly does one find out if a name is connected to a global?
-
I've found a few epic names since GR myself.
Ice Champion
Exec
Uncontainable (Name Watch)
Xanadual
Unify

Quote:Congratulations! You've earned the Rapid Response badge.I found it on Wikipedia, actually, and then did some digging around on the term itself. This was probably the best source of information... As for the questions!
1) In most cases, no. I do have a couple of non-CoX characters who are more conflicted about their... well.. conflicting... biology; but for the most part, they act like any sensible woman might.
2) Nope on this one, too. I tend to bump the physique/leg sliders up as a matter of preference, but this isn't linked to anything in particular.
3) And.. another no, actually. I only accept that it might possibly happen regardless, given that I spent so many years not even contemplating RP within the City. My main focus is character development... and if it came up as part of that...
You gain 5,000 influence.
Nice quick reply! :P
Alright then, here's the best advice I can offer.
Be up front about it with the people you trust in RP. Give them a disclaimer, if you will. If they insist on being a jerk, either tell them to go fornicate themselves with a brass instrument, or just tell them that just because your character is intersex doesn't mean she wants to do the horizontal monster mash with anything that happens to have an orifice. That's just who your character is. If that doesn't work out well (and I'm sorry I can't offer anything better) you may be inclined to the "don't tell if they ask" policy mentioned in your OP.
EDIT: Your VV page for Eribelle there has a problem: You start with U.E.P. and switch to U.E.D. Been playing Supreme Commander? :P -
From inside, a mass of tendrils begins to form in the center of the room. It grows until it's at least eleven feet tall, and begins to take shape. Into the imposing figure of Nalrok Ath'Zim it forms, bringing about the demon's silhouette in the dim interior of the Rookery.
Nalrok Ath'Zim opens his eyes... and flips on the light. He then has a seat in a nearby chair, the poor piece of furniture creaking under his weight.
"Good morning," he says as the Rookery opens.
((I figured I'd try my hand at opening. Sorry if there's a set order to opener people, I don't know how this works!))
