    PvP Server?

I was just curious as to how many players would appericate a dedicated PvP server? Freedom as far as I know is the sever most Pvpers go because of the pop rate, however I'm talking a single sever dedicated for the sole purpose of Pvp. Let me explain!

CoH, while one of the most unique games on the market lacks the important aspect to any Hero or Villian story told, Arch enemies! While the PvE has intresting story archs to give a remote feeling of purpose to the game the PvP lacks the immerse impact that one is fighting another player for any purpose but entertainment. Hench what I sugest (but doubt anyone will listen) is to make a server with such a purpose.

The idea is to take the current PvP zones and win these zones for your faction, by doing this you open the adjoining area for that faction to invade! When this occurs the Villians or Heros can take PvP to the Rogue Isles and to Paragon City! Now some restrictions (which I would think is important) is villians and heros can't access each others hospitals. Starter zones such as Mercy Island, Galaxy City, and Atlas Park would be off limits to prevent ganking at starting levels.

This could also bring prevention missions into play where Heros need to protect banks and such, and Villians can rob them or take over key buildings. Imagin fighting off foes to protect your city! Imagin being a villian and taking over Paragon City! Now with Going Rogue you can have a change of heart and really affect the fate of an entire server!

I think this is a cool concept that this game may never see, but I still wanted the imput of the PvP community wether or not this is a worthy concept that would intensify the PvP mechanics of the game?
  3. On my Rad/Therm I have lev as my patron power. Is this exceptable for my Ancillary pool, or am I better off with another type of Epic pool? The reason I ask this is most people post that Web is better, and I wasn't sure if I could redo the Patron Arch quest? If this is acceptable which pool powers would benefit my corr?
  4. Ok so I decided to come back to CoH and bought the expanison, now I want to pvp but don't know which char to use for pvp? I have a few lvl 50's and other mid range lvl char, any advice would be welcomed.

    Lvl 50 Stone/Stone Tank
    Lvl 50 Rad/Therm Corup
    Lvl 50 Psi/Emp Def
    Lvl 50 Fire/Therm Troller
    Lvl 45 Elec/Elec Blaster
    Lvl 42 Sol/Dm MM
    Lvl 26 Fire/SR Brute
    Lvl 24 Dem/SS MM
    Lvl 21 Spine/Regen Scrap
    Lvl 20 Spine/WP Stalker

I'm aware many of these are not PvP ideal, but I hope one of these builds would work for PvP. Any extra advice would help too.
  5. So with COH going Rouge announced how do you predict the effect it will have on the PvP community? I for one will take intrest in seeing how many heros and villians roll classes and certain builds, convert them, and pvp with them.

Please respond to any concerns, predictions, how you plan to play. I really want to see how this expanison affects the face of pvp.

  7. Well my question is if I have aoe toggled like lighting feild and the stalker takes damage won't he come out of hide? See I have an Ele/Ele build and I love drain effects, buid aim combo, and was thinking of going force for my epic just for added defense, but with at least three toggles on i'm not sure if it's the better soultion.
  8. Well to tell you the truth I love to PvP, but find it dull at times and meaningless sometimes in this game. My ideas are like others here but gives some more meaning to PvP.

    1. Add a reward system compared to the merit system.
By giving out pvp tickets for killing other players, and completing certain task players can buy rewards. You can scale the tickets so certain tasks for example yeilds more tickets than killing a player or vise versa.

    2. Add world affect from pvp result.
Each PvP entrance is in different zones so take for example sirens call. If the heros would be winning Sirens call you would see more longbow in Sharkhead Isle affecting the general game world dynamics.

    3. Add Arena rankings on website.
Even though WoW PvP got on my nerves a lot the best feature was ranking. By going to WoW's website and simply looking at the ranking tab you could see how you ranked. You could also give out titles for high ranking arena players as a reward for accomplishment.

The PvP in this game has a lot of possibility, but you need to have players want to PvP. At times I can go into an arena, or zone and it's dead, and I ask myself what's the point? Here you give reason and it adds to the function of the system.
  9. I got a stupid question. Are we getting our xp bonus this year also? I remember we got one week of xp bonus right around this same time.
