I suppose my question(s) is quite simple, but at the same time important and involved. Being you are so deeply invloved in the content, What is your influence on the game "Balance"?
As head of story writing for most of the game it seems, Are you able to influence the actual code writers and developers into pushing and improving the technology to allow for more interesting and interactive missions? Even with the new map tilesets and good content story-wise, the missions themselves are lacking and repetative... Obviously the story content is exceptionally important, are any of your writings able to "push" the way missions are run?
I hope those questions made sense for you.

This is the first indication that I have seen that the -Vis suppression occurs for PVP only.
In any case, I think 10 seconds is too long - if SS/SJ suppression is here to stay, then make the -Vis suppression the same length - 4 seconds. That way the stealth returns at the same time exit speed comes up so you can make a Stealthy retreat in bad situations.

I think you misread, States said ALL ENEMIES see you(and PvP).
I agree, 10 seconds is too long. If it HAS to be done, and I don't think it does, then certainly making the suppression equal to that of the Travel power suppression is far more appropriate.
With that said, This is just another of the bizzar nerfs coming in I5. Stealth is probably one of the few really useful defense pieces for blasters and defenders. It makes far more sense to suppress the -DEF than the Vis anyway.
Think of all of your "stealth" heroes, The Shadow(though it could be argued he can attack with full Invisibility), Batman, Daredevil. They take a couple of swings and then fade away, leaving the rest of the villian troop staring around trying to find out whats hitting them. Including those that were standing right next to the guy who got knocked out.
Bizzar, and unneeded. The way Mob groups aggro anyway, Stealth might as well already supress in live. Just leave it alone. It seems(though this has been denied several times in multiple cases) that this "nerf" is driven by PvP(perhaps CoV specific) concerns. Truth is, I don't PvP. Most people I know, including 60 of the 70 folks in my SG don't PvP. This will effect me, and for evidentaly, something I don't partake in anyway.
Leave bad enough alone. Its one of the few things I can do to protect MYSELF as a blaster or defender. -
While I have not played with controllers too much, I thought I could contribute to this a bit. I noticed that no one has mentioned that Superior Inv now allows attacks to be made while active. I would still might go with Group Inv because, after all, you don't ALWAYS solo and its nice to have an extra boost to your team.
Also, Ice doesn't have a pet of any kind that I can see either. Though Elec primary does, and it also has Short Circuit(big end drain still) and Tesla cage, and its psuedo-pet Voltanic Sent. may be a better control primary to go along with Ice.
As far as Mind/* controllers go, by far the most damaging powers in the controller set. Probably the balance against having pets. I know damage isn't the focus we are talking about, but it helps in solo-ability a lot! I like Mind a lot, but do miss the pet potential, especially compared to Ill controllers, but I do like the real damage they do comparatively.
I am not sure about the solo-ability of these, but they certainly pour out the pets end(nothing compares to an ill of course, but...), how about a Storm/Elec defender:lots of control in storm, Gale, Hurricane, Rain and Storm powers, plus pets:Tornado, and Lightning Storm, plus Elec, Voltanic Sentinal, Tesla Vage, and Short Curcuit...

I am not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I played with a team of 3 controllers and 3 blasters/scrappers and a defender. I did notice a small increase to my damage, but no noticable increase to my resistance, and I am not sure what the numbers for the status protection increases are, but I think it is around zero, because I was getting hold/sleep by a single attack... I was easily within 50 feet of my team, so I doubt I was outside the sustenance range, but then again, maybe not... does anyone know the range for it?
anyone else notice this? -
That means you tried to port to somewhere that was invalid. You will find if you move you mouse around when that happenes, you will see the teleport circles moving around.
have to be careful about what is considered a valid spot these days with teleport...

Yes, but again, why drag your speed down any further.
You are nearly invisible with SF( maybe 10ft visibility to a +3 minion, just tested that out last night), and with DN acc debuff on, you will pretty much never get hit vs +1 minions.
I just wouldn't see the point to having both, unless you were aiming for Phase Shift, in that case, go with Grant Invis to enhance your defender status..
Good Luck! -
Swift on its own doesn't quite cancel the speed drop from stealth or SF, but with swift+sprint+SF(or stealth) you will go slightly faster than someone with just sprint on. I would guess you would be a tad bit slower with both SF+stealth+swift+sprint...
But really.. why take stealth when SF has a better stealth component(based on my experiences this is true) and I am not sure but I thought it had a higher base defense buff(it is at least equal to stealth).

Just a note.. Hurdle does actually increase forward speed, equal to swift at an unenhanced level.. I think after that, each jump enhancement adds an equally low amount of forward and verticle motion...

This is a pretty decent post, but some numbers to go along with it(recharge, endurance, range, etc, ) would be pretty great. I have no idea about how to collect such numbers, (plus my highest char is only 40, so I couldn't help much if I wanted to).

I am a Watcher of Worlds.
Usually I only contain myself to this one, as it is my prime responsibility... but when peoples from another world began circling this one, I felt I needed to expend some of my will to see where they came from.
Adun was a large, dense world. It seemed perfect to sustain a massive and advanced culture. And when I chanced to view it... it looked as if it once had.
The massive ruins of cities spread far and wide gave me a mere glimps of how great indeed this world once was. And I tasted the air and felt the vile stench that was the remains of a Rikti invasion. Even centuries old, I could feel the taint in the very soul of thier world. I almost wept at the lingering aura of pain and destruction. I had no doubt this world did well for themselves. And perhaps that is why we were able to hold the Rikti here. They lost so many to this place.
I came back to our little blue and green world and felt the charge of life that swept through the currents here. It was still a place of life. It was a place that had strength.
I glanced cautiously again at these Adunis. They reeked of hatered and vengence. So deep there was no word from this world to describe it. I feared then greatly at what thier intentions were.
I availed myself to meet them and find out... to risk myself in this world was occasionaly something I had to do in order to see what the outcome would be. I hated myself, knowing that as a watcher I could do no more than ask questions, regardless of thier intent, and do nothing more.
Lo'Tok and Dor'Tok, the Battle Lord and Fire Lord. My trip from thier world and back had given them the time to assimilate our language enough.
I came into thier ship and was confronted quickly by two hulking Robots.. no, cyborgs. They trained their weapons on me by pure insticnt and drive to protect themselves and thier people from my unknown threat.
The Fire Lord came upon me and asked me in his own tounge to "Bring forth my intent and bow down to thier will"
I let them believe I did not understand and made him struggle with our language..
"Please to ask why you are here, and do you mean violence?"
The concept that thier translation was so vastly different made me shudder.
Our conversation was long and halting, as I would not give up my advantage of knowing what they said between them, unaware I understood.
Their homeworld had been ultimately crushed by the Rikti, though it cost them dearly. The remaining Adunis scattered, seeking retribution and to find if others had survived as they had. They had come to learn the Riktis' remaining force came here, and was defeated. While they seemed somewhat impressed, their language gave a hint that they know it was thier war that aided us here.
Once they had gleaned from me that the Rikti were still interested in this world, immediatley the decision was made to stay and fight for this world. To collect more Adunis and finish off the invaders.
I pray they bring the force to ensure victory for the inevitable return of the Rikti
