If I'm not too late, could you take a crack at Warm Hands , my empathy defender?

what is the power set of NN?

Rad me thinks.

Dude, she's - like - totally rad.. I mean - like - wow...

Sorry.. I must have drank some native water... -
You know, this is why I tend to hang out here in this forum as opposed to the Player Questions or even the CoH Discussion forum...
First of all, kudos to having the courage to stand up and apologize for a perceived transgression on your part. Even if it isn't as bad as you thought, you still wanted to make sure that there were no hard feelings.
Secondly, kudos to Kat for her understanding on the matter...
What's more, I feel, while it would be a unique occurrence in the other boards and the response would be less than understanding, that here it's not as surprising.. because everyone here is that high a caliber of individual.
Mind you, I'm not complaining about any poster in any forum.. I just think that the people in this little corner are among the best.
<raises cup of Mt Dew> Here's to the Screenshot Forum!
And Mist.. I prescribe bed rest and two art commisions of your choice... you do have art insurance, right? -
It looks good...
As for the mouth, it looks crooked. If you were trying to giver her a smirk, I think the right side of her mouth should look mostly normal, with the left side in more of a smile.
Sorry, I'm not exactly the best person to get art advice from... in fact, I'm pretty low on the whole totem pole of art..
I still think the pic looks great, though. -
Looks cool! Very cute.
One question.. did you intend to have only two claws instead of three from his hand? -
Looks very nice... The only criticism I have - if you would call it that - is that the face looks very plastic. I know that 3D rendering has difficulty in creating convincing living textures... But that doesn't mean I don't like it!
-
Looks cool! Kept the same flavor with some obvious upgrades.
It annoys me when a website I frequent 'upgrades' into something that is unrecognizable. Then I have to figure out where stuff is again.... Frustrating.
This is nice though. Same flavor, made improvements, nothing is 'lost'... at least that I can see.
Now, if only I could afford to commission a piece.
Always enjoy your stuff, Gil.

a duo PICTURE!!! Sheesh. What's wrong with you people :P

>_> Do you want a comprehensive list, or was that a rhetorical question? ^_^
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope it was rhetorical, because this thread could take the next several days answering that question.. and probably get a few of us banned for answering. -
I would suggest NN flipping MsL over her shoulder.. kinda reaching up with her right hand, grabbing the head - or hair - and flipping forward over her shoulder.. At least, that's the action I see.
These are looking real good... I like the simplicity of it, too. -
Shame shame.. Bad Rowr... chewing on small slender objects...
Errr..... scratch that...
The chibi looks cool, Rowr! Very cute!

I know what you're talking about. My wife has a stone tanker she plays with her family. With the rock armor on, her dad casts group invisibility. She turns ivisible... but her armor doesn't! Looks really weird.
I'm thinking that invisibility would affect the character model, but not anything that is not defined in the 'player' section of the demo.
There is a section in the Codex on Invisibility in the FX section.. If that'll help.
Edit: As a side note, it is interesting, however, that the Aura is visible, although it is defined as part of the player model... -

bob... how do you make a video?
how did you get all the freaks to dance for you?
any ideas or places where we can learn and make a video...
i have an idea for a villain video with the song "I fought the law... and the law won"... showing a thug with a pistol loosing fights to freedom corps! maybe show him in jail... having him sing his tale of woe!
come on bob... work on it, or give me instructions how... at the very least let me know how i can participate and be a movie star!

In the Player Guides forum, in the Guide to Guides on the first page, scroll to SCREENSHOTS, DEMOS, VIDEOS.
I would suggest doing MasterMarbles short tutorial on Demo Editing. It takes all of twenty minutes and gives you some experience editing a demo.
Zloth's FAQ has a lot of information on what is in a demo, and how to change stuff. Great info there!
StormKnight's guide lays out the production process of making a video without getting too detailed on the demo aspect of it.
Information on demo models, animations, etc, is still available at The City of Heroes Codex , unfortunately, Scuzzbopper appears to have left the game.
There is also The Dead Man's Hand , with a section on demo editing.
Now, get cracking! Let's see that video! -
Yeah, I saw this a little while ago after Cuppa commented on it. Fun video!
I wish my brain would settle on one song to make a video. I have about a dozen songs that I keep thinking would be cool to make into a video... Three of them I have actually put more focus into and have an idea of the progression of the scenes.
BobtheTanker and Mr and Mrs Abyss though make some good stuff. -

Rowr sucks at drawing!
This is really weird. Harder to get used to than I thought. But... i think it'll really help when it comes to coloring! So we'll see !
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd say it's pretty good for your first try on a new medium... Keep at it!
Oh, and TA... I don't know Rowr as well as you do.. But I think cracking a whip might distract her from the drawing... -
I think the reason fort he circles is because they are the models used for the contacts, where the models of the villains are the models in RV... Try using Signature in fron of the hero names and see if that gets what you want. It seems that that convention should get you the heroes from RV.
The Mutant... Not-so-godly-god-of-mutation.
Edit: D'oh! Beaten by a witch! ! !
...and corrected, too... Good thing I don't have any divinity to give up. -
I've written some fan-fiction, and read a lot more, coming over from a Baldur's Gate fan-fic site, The Attic .
It's ok to have different 'voices', or points of view, in a story, even within a chapter, but it's generally - I say again, generally - taboo to switch PoV in a scene. You can have a section break to switch PoV, but it gets very confusing to switch on the fly. That's not to say that it can't be done and still be grammatically proper. It is something even the pro's avoid doing, however.
Use of the omniscient view is also difficult as you need to keep from venturing into anyone's thoughts when narrating this way. It gets to be somewhat more restrictive than just presenting from a characters PoV most of the time, such that writers tend to avoid the problem altogether by not writing omniscientally.
If you want to see some good fan-fic, check out the Attic, in particular, the serial called A Capella, by Silrana - 325 chapters of the Baldur's Gate saga. Excellent stuff. Anything by Oyster Girl or Darkrose is also very good. In fact, just about all of the writers there produce some good stuff, and the comments provided by the community there are very constructive and supportive, often suggesting better ways of presenting something.
Good luck! -

Wow, I'm glad you guys've thought so much of a piece that wasn't near finished. But fear not, for your sleepless nights of tossing and turning, of wondering and speculation about what the finished piece would look like are over! (that was just probably me). Either way, here's the finished...
Thors Assassin
It took me a bit longer then I had thought to finish up, but they always do and I think I'm satisfied with the results on this one... just hope the big guy digs it as well.
Up next is HemilyTiger followed by Mysticfire, thanks for being patient with me, guys

That looks beautiful, G... Absolutely amazing.

Umm.... it looks like you are removing the POS and PYR lines when you replace that...

I really like how this is turning out, Graver... Very well done... -
Well.. It's a cool piece... Not your typical pose, but certainly relays the intensity of the scene. Very nice!
As an aside all I have to say is.. CATFIGHT! ! ! Where's the popcorn?!? <pulls up chair to watch the festivities> -
I'd think either sketch 6 (TAsketch6) or sketch 7 (TAsketch). And yeah, he's waved that Nemesis staff around like someone trying to hail a cab in the Bronx on a Saturday night, but he's kinda coopted it as his symbol.. Even if we only get to keep it in the game for 3 days now.
All looks good, though. -

Hmmm, Moon needs to update his link to my Screenshot & Demo FAQ.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing wrong with a little self-promotion, eh?
Seriously, though, Lunar and Zloth have a lot of info on demo editing.
I might also suggest taking a look at the Guide to Guides in the Player Guides section, and scroll down to Screenshots, Demos, Videos.
There's only four guides out there, with two by the aforementioned tree dweller, but the threads might have some useful information as well. The first thing I did, though, was run through MasterMarbles quick tutorial. It'll take all of fifteen minutes and you'll actually build a demo from scratch. It helped me to understand the demo file a lot more because I was putting everything in the file necessary to run.
Have fun! -
