Also notes on the Quantum toaster side, Misty is going to argue the inefficiency of toasting just one slice per slot at a time, even if it is instantaniously.
-
Misty Logic looked up, or was it down, ehh it didn't matter, this was her lab and she found it quite relaxing to switch the quantum generator on and sit on the ceiling whilst she worked. It was then she heard the handle turn.
"Wait Doc!! The inverted gravitiy is on!" she called out, quickly doing a handstand and telekenetically flicking the switch, dropping down to the floor and standing, brushing herself down.
"H-hi Doc" she said, before the generator finally shut down fully causing her tools to rain down around her. "Ahh!" she yelped and stepped to the side. The Doc blinked and shook his head, he was just about to speak when the klaxons sounded.
-Intruder alert, designation Superpowered being-
The two scientists looked at each other and dashed out to the main lab, various robotic inventions of Dr Mechano lay around and in the centre, Dr Logic's Time lens. Misty ran to the door, reaching her mind out to assault the hero, just as it exploded inwards.
"YAAAAAA!" -Fzzzzzk****- Misty flew back into the time lens and it exploded, with no trace of Hero or Misty, The quantum shockwave devistated the lab, turning some objects centuries old, whilst others became their componant parts once more.
That was 1975.
2005, Paragon City.
"aaaaaaahh" -CRASH!!- Misty fell back first onto a car roof, shattering it. Groaning she staggered to her feet and fell over.
"Oh my... my head, it's so hard to think... Ohmigosh!! Where are my clothes?!" She yelped as she noticed a chill in the air. She looked around, everything was different, newer, but it looked like there had been a war recently. A newspaper drifted past, she grabbed it.
"2005...wait... the Doc!! Doctor...m...Me...oh no... Master..." She slumped to the ground and began sobbing, she'd forgotten the most important thing to her.
"...need a doctor?"
Misty looked up and wiped her tears, she was slumped in an ally naked and crying, yes, this wouldn't look good. She smiled softly to the helpful police officer. "I'm sorry, can you repeat that officer? I'm partially deaf." she explained, which was partially true. She was 100% deaf and used her psychic powers to 'hear'
"Ahh, sorry." The officer spoke up "ARE YOU OK? DO YOU NEED A DOCTOR?" He yelled slowly.
Misty wiped her face again. "Yes..." she said truthfully "I need a Doctor..." -

Hoodaman: Real name - Clive Kensington. D.O.B: June 4th 1920. Clive was a well known and respected photographer during the second world war. The way he was able to produce some very clear images with his trusty camera was the envy of his peers, however Clive hid a dark, dark secrect. He was a mutant. He first discovered his abilities one morning when he was 15, opening the door to his bedroom half asleep, he ripped the door off it's hinges without a second thought. Startled by this he staggered backwards and tripped over his bed, and out the 5th story window onto the concrete. Dazed, he stood up without a scratch and in mild embarrassment headed back inside. Over the years, Clive found he was very young looking for his age, his aging has slowed to a near standstill by the time he reached 30. As time passed, Clive's body aged only a year for every decade. During the 70's he decided to put his unique abilities to a life of superheroism and modelled himself as Hoodaman in reflection of the culture of the time and his sense of humour.

Villians:
Ms Behave: Real name: Raynard. D.o.B: 21st March 2007
Mary Raynard when she was in the Rogue Isles met many a colourful character, none moreso then 'Ze Goggles' a mad scientist with big plans. Having taken a sample of Mary's blood, he proceeded to clone her, his motives unclear. Raynard has all the memories of Mary, but with a major difference, her DNA is a mixture of Mary's Blood, and a certain Senator that had her locked up in the first place.
The Fisherwoman: Real Name: Lae'Ori D.o.B: The age of Mythology (@ 12,000 - 7000 years ago) Species: Siren.
The Sirens are known for their enchanting voices and luring sailors to their doom, sometimes known as mermaids, they are an enigmatic sea dwelling species. Lae'Ori is one such Siren. Having lived on the edges of the human world and her own, throughout history she would set foot on land and live amongst humans for roughly 50 or so years at a time before returning to the sea. In the early 90's Lae'Ori surfaced near Paragon city, a city where some humans had immense powers. Intrigued, she stuck around, using her ability to be emotionally sympathetic to become a councellor. She wanted to help, but not to get involved fully. As time went on, Lae'Ori came to the conclusion that sometimes what a hero needed most of all, was not an ear to listen, but someone to hold. She set ground rules for herself, never offer the service to heroes who are in a relationship, never use what she did against them, and NEVER, EVER try to blackmail anyone. For a good decade she did well for herself, with her legitimate counselling, and her controversial 'therapy' That was until she got a new client, things where going well for a while, until she made the mistake of offering her treatment. Before she knew it, she was under arrest for attempted solictication with attempt to blackmail. When she wouldn't name names and kept her confidentially up to the bitter end, she was sentenced to 5 years inprisonment. Feeling betrayed, she vowed never to help anyone but herself from now on.

In the previous chapter we covered the origins and fall of Mary Raynard who was to become the Villianess Ms Behave, in this chapter we cover her older sister, Lisa Kayne.
Lisa looked at the prototype suit with a tear in her eyes, this was what Mary sacrifed herself for, body, mind and spirit, she was angry, at herself, at Mary, at the corruption that allowed people like Senator Bones to get away with things like that. It cut deep that Mary gave up her honour, her sanity and her morals for this thing, in her mind, Mary was a true hero, heroes lay down their lives daily, but that's their lives, how many would give up much more then just their physical lives for people?
Lisa recalled the last conversation she had with Mary.
'How's the suit?' Mary asked, her arms hugged around her as she seemed to do a lot these days.
'Pretty good, all the tests are coming back positive, there is still the factor over the kenetic distribution of impact that can't be solved, the suit can deflect all sorts of damage easily and it doesn't hurt as much, but it still hurts, and in prolonged combat you're entire body would be plum coloured, for the odd bullet or punch you'd hardly feel it though.' Lisa said and then turned to Mary, noticing her tears. 'Mary?'
'Lisa... you know who I said the Senator was really intrested in your proposals?' Mary started... 'He wasn't'
'But the funding?' Lisa started.
'I paid for that suit...'
'But how? you've no money, the Senator himself wrote me out ...the...ohh gods...' Lisa clamped a hand over her mouth as she saw Mary's face, 'Mary no, you didn't have to... we would have found a way.'
'Not quick enough, there are more important things then personal comfort and well being, so what if some dirty old sleeze has his way with me, at least a greater good will come of it.'
'This is all my fault, if I hadn't made such a big deal out of this...' she started before Mary slaped her across the face.
'NO! don't talk like that, you're brilliant, you've got talents I could never dream of having, grandmother wanted us to save the world yeah? That suit when given to the right heroes will save the world, sometimes sacrifices have to be made for a greater purpose, but you're not a hero if you're unprepaired to BE that sacrifice. Lisa, I don't know how much longer I can hold it together, this project is what kept me from going mad ages ago, complete it and everything will be worth while.'
'Mary...' Lisa closed her eyes and hugged her sister 'You don't have to do that anymore, we're at a stage we need no more money.'
Mary broke the hug and smiled tearfully at her sister, 'I think it's gone too far, if I try to get away now god knows what will happen.'
She turned the lights out in the lab and headed to her office; halfway up the stairs she paused to some rather odd sounds coming from a room off the corridor. 'Odd' she thought, 'No one here but me and the cleaning staff at this hour.' She walked to the room and opened the door, her face dropping and her heart shattering.
'WHAT THE F--- IS GOING ON HERE?!' she exclaimed as she found her husband and a mysterious woman against the wall, caughts quite litterally pants down. The man and woman, startled started to stammer and comments like 'it was an accident' and 'it just happened'
Lisa narrowed her eyes, 'Save it, I want you out of my offices and out of my life, I'll have my lawyers write up divorce papers in the morning.
'B..but love'
'Don't love me you whining sack of garbage, I took my back last time this happened more fool me, I want you out of my life.'
Lisa stormed out, fuming to herself, as she left the building a couple or members of The Council were harrassing her staff, already in a rage she pulled out her newest invention prototype, a glove that fired an arc of electricity at a designated target and slipped them on. She took aim at a less then heroic place to hit a guy and fired. She felt good, it felt good, after helping the police with a few statements she headed home, costume designed flying through her mind, she would be a hero too. -
Yes but then what about Comic books? When superpowered beings exist, do comic books just become a form of easy read newspaper? I'd like the idea of a Dr. Who type Fictional character in a world of Heroes, because to me Doctor Who is the ultimate in heroes. (Big Doctor Who fan here
)
How about we make our own 'Pop Culture' suitable for a world where angels and demons walk amongst men? I submit some entries.

Last night in Pocket D:
Ms Behave's world fell appart when Roselin Thorne broke off their relationship. Crushed and hurt Mary couldn't bring herself to show any real outwards emotion until she arrived at the table with Lady Patriot, Nightschild and Roselin Thorne. Whilst there the uncomfortable silence and atmosphere was thick enough to carve with a knife until Lady Patriot excused herself, followed shortly by Nightschild. Already angry and hurting Mary made a few unfair comments to Roselin and excused herself, taking the time to break into a safe and steal a very expensive bottle of malt whiskey before making a call to her teacher and mentor The Sword of Albion. During that time Mary returned for her drink and upended it on Lady Patriot for making her feel pushed out. When Sword of Albion arrived Mary told him what had happened and returned the bottle of whiskey before taking him to an arena to work off her aggression on him. After taking a few knocks the 17th Earl of Rutland put Mary on her behind deftly and that was that. She had a good cry about things and afterwards rejoined the group more as an onlooker then a participent before the group split up for the night.
Elsewhere, a sword awoke and a woman, looking a lot like Mary picked it up, blue eyes flashing as she smiled and stepped forwards, a blinding flash changing the scenery to that of Paragon City. -

Morality, a strange concept, a set of guidelines that are part instict, part environmental and part socialogical. Morality and ethics are things that keep us alive as a species, they are there to stop us destroying ourselves outright, but they are not as ridgid and unbending as instict alone. Morality and Ethics can be ignored, and in some cases, this can be a good thing.
Case 1: Mary Raynard, convicted of stalking, assault, attempted murder, aiding and abetting and attempted blackmail at the age of 17, current whereabouts: Unknown. Known Alias: Ms Behave.
Our story opens 100 years ago, with the first heroine to weild 'Raydaen' the mystical sword that would found a long line of heroines. Alexandria Raynard was the first, the sword forged in magic by her hands, the ever growing corruption in her home city giving her cause for concern for the safety of her two year old daughter Sarah Raynard. During the day she was a wealthy wife of an industrialist, but by night she was The Vixen Sentinal, herself and her sword fighting for a better future. When Sarah was 16 in 1924 her mother and the sword vanished from the face of the earth. Presuming her dead Sarah had a rather normal sword forged and trained long and hard, becoming the Vulpine Blade, fighitng crime until she married and bore a daughter of her own, Sophie Smith in 1930, Sophie was raised on stories of her grandmother and her mother's exploits until World War 2 broke out. At the age of 12 Sophie saw her mother killed by the 9th Column, the blood soaked sword falling by her feet as she hid away, this would be the event that forged the Avenging Fox. Retaking her mother's Maiden name of Raynard she fled across the sea to Paragon City, here she became one of the first of a new line of heroes in a city of heroes...
But her past would catch up to her, in 1965 at the age of 35 she gave birth to Alexandria Raynard II, unknown to her, the childs father was a member of the very organization that killed her mother, the 9th Column. Alexandria did not take on her mother's legacy but instead became a reserch scientist, in 1980 she married Richard Kayne and bore him a daughter, Lisa Kayne in 1985 and another one Mary Kayne in 1988.
The year is 2004 Mary Kayne was now Mary Raynard, having agreed to her dying grandmother's last wish of continuing the legacy, Lisa Kayne, her older sister agreed too, and thus was forged Galactic Edge and The Avenging Fox.
Lisa: "Are you sure you won't wear the armour?"
Mary: "It's too restricting, how can I fight crime wrapped up in that thing?"
Lisa: "Well All I need is some funding and I can use more advanced polymers."
Mary: "maybe this will help? Remember that prize I won? Apparently this Senitor is throwing a party in my honour, I could try and sell your idea to him if you like."
Lisa: "Thanks squirt." She smiled to her younger sister as she got ready for her big night, "I've got a feeling, both our lives are going to change real soon."
Later that night, at the mansion of Senitor Bones.
Mary: "Umm, Mr Senitor? I thought you said this was a party?" she asked nervously as she entered the dimly lit drawing room."
Senitor Bones: "No my dear, I invited you to a celebration of your award."
Mary couldn't fault that, it was word for word what he'd said, she nodded, alarm bells ringing in her head to get out of this place now, but he was a Senitor in Paragon City of all places, he was safe right?... right?
Senitor Bones: Come, sit, I hear you have a proposal from your sister about this new reserch of hers?
Mary blinked, boy but this guy was well connected intelligence wise, she nodded sheepishly and sipped her orange juice, he had offered her something stronger, but Mary never developed a taste for alcohol, besides whiskey oddly enough, and she felt a clear head was a very good thing to have here. She couldn't help feeling though, something was wrong, with each sip she was feeling, strange. This guy was nothing to look at, sure he was polite enough, but something about him repulsed her, and yet, she was having trouble sitting comfortably.
Mary: "Umm yes, she says this new alloy will be as thin, soft and flexable as silk but will distribute impact like reenforced titanium and deflect things like knives and bullets perfectly." she squirmed, -Damn, he's drugged me, I just know it, I gotta get out of here.- she thoughts. "Umm, you know what, I don't mean to sounds ungrateful and all, but I have a huge book report tomorrow and... eeee" Mary stopped still, looking like a frightened rabbit, his hand was on her upper thigh.
Senitor Bones: "Well that's a shame, I was going to offer your sister that funding, but I'm not sure I should now, it is rather rude to skip out on someone mid-conversation." his hand rubbed lewdly at her as she screwed up her eyes in disgust and fear. "So I'll tell you what, let's work on an apology and we'll see about that funding..."

6 months later...
"It'll be our secret."
Mary Raynard's eyes shot open, she'd fallen asleep in class again.
"Miss Reynard? Are you alright? You're crying." Her teacher asked concerned.
"Y.. Ye- No.. No I'm not, Can I be excused please?"
Her Teacher frowned but nodded, Mary ran out and headed to the councellors office, and stopped dead... 'he' came out, smirking in his repulsive way as he caught her eye.
"Miss Raynard, I'd like to see you in my office." The councellor said sternly.
No, no no no he'd gotten to him too. Mary felt the world fall down all around her as she strode cautiously into the office.
"I've just been having an interesting talk with the senitor there, it appears you've been calling him up and following him around, is there something you'd like to tell me?"
Mary stared into the middle distance and sighed, "What point would there be?"
"You see it isn't healthy for a young girl to get this obsessive over a married, middle aged man."
Mary chuckled grimly and looked down, "Then tell him to stop picking me up from martial art's practice, tell him to stop pawing me about like some meat."
"Now that's a very serious thing you're saying there, such accusations shouldn't be thrown around lightly."
Mary saw the brown envelop on the desk and caught the counsellors eyes.
"I see..." She locked her glare on him and stood up. "How much is in there eh? How much is my life worth? 100? 1000?"
"I don't like the..."
"The what?! The fact you're as corrupt and dirty as everyone else in this town? the fact that it takes thousands of superpowered men and women just to keep some semblence of order?! Well don't worry, and tell him not to worry either, I won't be a problem much longer..."

Hours later at Practice...
"Mary Reynard?" A voice called to her, the young girl turned around puzzled and somewhat frightened, her fears were confirmed.
"Y...yes?"
"Mary Raynard, I hearby place you under arrest for the blackmail of Senitor Bones and for suspected mental health concerns raised by you teachers."
"No, no why are you doing this to me?!"
"Please come quiet-ly? Where did she go?!"
Mary had slunk into the shadows and made her way towards the door, as she passed the treshold she was spotted.
"Freeze!" One officer said as he raised his gun.
"I'm unarmed, what are you going to do? shoot an unarmed normal 17 year old?" She hissed viciously, he lowered his gun and stepped towards her.
"You have the right to remain- Urk!" The officer dropped like a rag as Mary kicked him in the stomach. The officer inside tried to grab her from behind and ended up with a foot in the groin.
"Stop her!!" A cry came as she started lashing out left and right at the officers, her martial art's training coming into it's fullest.
"That's enough!" A call came as a hero landed near her.
"NO!, I'm sick of this town, I'm sick of people not seeing the true crime, I hate you, I hate you all!" She screamed as she punched the hero square in the throat, catching him by suprise as he dropped to his knees, a kick to the head set his teleporter off.
"Gotta get out of here..." Mary paniced and ran round the corner into a group of Skulls. "Oh no, this is the last thing I needed."
"Chill girl, we saw what you just did, nice moves." The leader chuckled as he grabbed her hand and the group ran to a nearby warehouse.
"So what was that all about?" He asked after the group reached the safety of gaurded building.
Mary related her story to him, how at the age of 16 she had won this grand prize at school and how this Senitor Bones had taken a shine to her, how over the past 6 months he'd pick her up from wherever she was and how he appeared to have claws in ever aspect of her life, how he'd suddenly put into action a plan to discredit her as she had slowly started to break down and was beginning to be a threat to him, how this morning everything had come to a head with the school councellor.
"Man, and I thought we were a peice o' work." he chuckled, "Look babe, you won't get that here, you're safe with us, well kinda we are the bad guys after all."
"Yeah, I was wondering why you being all nice with me."
"Simple, anyone who wails on the cops and a hero like that is ok in our book, just don't get any ideas of getting all morally responsable and..."
"CLOAK!!!" A cry came out, a hero had infiltrated the base.
"I'm not going back there..." Mary said as she leapt into the shadows.
"That's the spirit girl, show them how you can really misbehave."
"Misbehave..." Mary thought to herself, "yeah... I can Misbehave."
In the dark part of the warehouse was a crate of clothes headed for Icon, Mary opened it and quickly changed, chuckling to herself before headed off.
"I know you're in here Miss Reynard, your parents are worried about you."
"Worried?" Mary said from the shadows, "They were getting paid off to let that creep maul me, they can go to hell, infact all of Paragon can go to hell."
"You don't mean that, you're just in shock, the police handled things badly they know that now."
"Not at all, infact..." Mary appeared behind the hero and placed her elbow square into his back. "I think they handled things just fine..."
"Uggh!" The Hero spun around to retaliate, missing the shorter girl as she ducked. "Who do you think you are dressing up as a hero girl, you're far from heroic beating up police officers."
"Oh, I'm no hero... call me... Ms. Behave, Boys if you would." She said as the Skulls opened fire at the Hero.
"Well, let's go. Kill Heroes..." -
Being away from the sea was daunting for Lae'ori (The Fisherwoman) but the rogue islands were a more hospitable place because of the easy access to the sea, however she wasn't happy with her new home and headed to this place called Pocket D she'd heard about.
Well, she thought she was going to hurl!!! Being inside another dimension with no access to the sea troubled her, so she consumed as much salt water as her body could handle.
Whilst there she met up with several new people, Jan Boa, Roselin Thorne, Detective Becktress, Alraune and Caged Eagle The Siren had a great time with all these people but soon as she got home she went to sit on the sea bed a few miles off the coast.
Mary Raynard as The Avenging Fox Found herself as part of a trio of trouble with Sword of Albion and Avo's Tear ((None roleplayer)) It felt like a part of something, like she'd come home. Although often her mind drifted back to Roselin Thorne. And soon she was back on the Isles as Ms Behave once more.
((Note: Avo's Tear mentioned he did not wish to be approched with invites into roleplay so I'm covering my behind on this one))
-
Mary Raynard in her disguse as The Avenging Fox had a lot to think about, having been shook up by the fight with the mysterious Council member she had to re-evaluate a lot of stuff.
The Senator had just been a pawn, a tool used to try and shape her, and for the most part it nearly worked, this was a fight that had spanned The Vulpine Blade, The Avenging Fox, and now her, Mary Raynard, the last of a line of heroes.
The Sword of Albion was the only hero who knew her as Mary, to everyone else she referred to herself as fox or Sophie after her grandmother. Currently she was helping her mentor to try and get a feel of Paragon's good side.
Ms. Behave spoke with Roselin Thorne about a few things, letting her know how she felt and reassuring her that even though recently her sanity had taken a beating she still had clarity about some things.
The Sword of Albion had asked Mary to help him with a few things last night, unfortunatly those plans were put on hold after there was no way to gather the man power needed to accomplish such a feat.
Meanwhile, one of Mary's aborted plans took a life of it's own on and woke up in her now abandoned apartment, the cloning tank splitting and depositing an unconcious but very alive young woman. -
Mary Raynard, Granddaughter of Sophie Raynard, the late Aveneging Fox sat in her room, it had been a good year since her breakout of the Zig, and she'd met someone who made her feel life was worth not giving up on yet.
Outside, she used the name Ms. Behave, as this seemed to fit well with her. Her crime? Assault, resisting arrest, the hospitalization of a hero and a connection to the Skulls, she felt a traitor...
Like her Grandmother, she had bee abused and betrayed by powerful men, unlike her Grandmother, she didn't turn this isn't a positive force for good and right now, she was pretty depressed.
"Arrgh!!" she yelled, laying back on the bed, "I shouldn't be feeling like this, he got what he deserved.."
-Did he?- A voice sounded, her grandmother, looking a lot younger but translucent sat by her. -Poor Mary, don't beat yourself up my dear, what's done is done, and it's good there is still enough good in you to feel remorse for what you did.-
Mary's tears streamed down her cheeks as she closed her eyes "It's not fair..."
-Life rarely is, all you can do is follow what you beleive to be true and roll with the punches-
"I... I can't I just want to die"
-Maybe, but what you want and what you need to do are different. Contact the Sword of Albion, he has my old Armour and sword, use them, but them to good use Mary, fulfill your destiny-
Mary sat up "Grandmother?" She was gone, Mary collapsed sobbing, in the morning she would contact him, and get the armour, and then risk patrolling Paragon, hoping for her life she wasn't discovered. -
Bad guys
Ms Behave is 17, Purple fiend is 10,000, Robotella is 2.
Good guys.
Col Savannah is 25, Hoodaman is 75, Gonn Fission is 32 -
As far as I see, it, as long as you aren't out to purposely mislead people about your gender/gender bias then play what you want. But if the situation is getting personal, or possably personal then it is a good idea to let it known who and what you are behind the character so there is no false imagery.
Ms Behave is a 17 year old runaway/thief, but her player is a 25 year old man, I do not hide whom I am, but I feel that the best roleplay is to be something you are not and act it out the best you can... to 'play a role' -
"It'll be our secret."
Mary Raynard's eyes shot open, she'd fallen asleep in class again.
"Miss Reynard? Are you alright? You're crying." Her teacher asked concerned.

Mary related her story to him, how at the age of 15 her mother was the maid to this politician and how he'd taken a shine to her, how over the past 3 years he'd pick her up from wherever she was and how he appeared to have claws in ever aspect of her life, how he'd suddenly put into action a plan to discredit her as she had slowly started to break down and was beginning to be a threat to him, how this morning everything had come to a head with the school councellor.
Kill Heroes..."
