The ITF seems to strike a good compromise between the "normal paced content lovers" and the "money loving speed gamers". About half the ITFs I run take an hour or less, the other half around two hours. Just depends on the mood of the team.

QFT. I find the vast majority of blueside content to be mind-numbingly boring. Every story arc is essentially just fighting the same damn villain group for 10 missions in the same damn tileset.
Redside content? Variety all over the place. Sure, you don't learn as much about the villain groups, but at least you get some damn variety. It's not uncommon for story arcs to be a short, sweet three missions long, with different villain groups in each and on different tilesets. -

What is the difference between doing things with steam that everyone else thinks is impossible and cutting edge superscience, other than a bit of flavor and cosmetics?
The former strains disbelief way beyond the breaking point. The latter does not.
The audience only has a limited ability to suspend disbelief. As I've said before, quoting Campbell, they'll swallow one porcupine but not two. Do you really want to use your one and only get-out-of-jail-free card on getting them to accept (e.g.) steam-powered robots that can pass for human beings?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I will gladly swallow a whole truckload full of porcupines. If those porcupines are AWESOME.
Whatevers, ill shut up now. Make with the reviews! -

For instance, would it actually hurt anything if the /info on a Nemesis soldier said "The weapons used by these troops may look archaic, but that's just an affectation. On the inside, Nemesis technology is nothing but cutting edge superscience" instead of trying to tell us that Nemesis is so CRAZY BRILLIANT that he can do things with steam that are utterly impossible?

Well water can be made to do some really crazy stuff, so I don't think its that much of a stretch.
Why are we even arguing over physics in a comic book game? That's like trying to arrange a gravel driveway so all the stones are the same exact size. You can do it, but its much better if you just accept it for what it is and move on. -

Didn't Posi say that the were not going to revamp the Shards? Something about putting the effort into new zones.

*KERRRRRRASSSSSSH!!!!!!!!!* *picks up new brick*. Come on devs. I would really hate to ruin your break room. I think I could even hit the coffee machine from here. -
Okay seriously devs? Just come right out and say you're going to revamp the Shadow Shard and I wont throw these bricks I carved "revamp the stinking Shadow Shard already" into through your windows.

If you've spent any time on BMT of champion, you will know how whacked out, bizarre, and incredibly insane its conversations can get. This thread is dedicated to those conversations.
However, I ask that you keep it (mostly) clean.

Not to take up too much space in your thread Venture but...
If you guys need to post a essay about your story's plot maybe you didnt explain enough in your arc. I found my biggest problem with my arc is I understand the plot without the story and I forget others may not follow the story as easily. Just my 2 cents
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT. The ideal story should be simple enough to grasp its basic plot and themes at a base level, yet complex enough to not be able to grasp everything on the first pass through.
In other words: Plot=first run through. Themes, metaphors, and motifs=second run through. -

QFT. Once you get your defence softcapped you'll start to feel like the dev's must have misplaced a decimal point because NOTHING could be this awesome.
...then you get elude... -
Why do I imagine Kratos shouting out the thread title?
-
Removed a plot point from part two that never really went anywhere (it was intended to be used in an earlier version of the arc).
-
Added a souvenir. Only to part 3 though, and its only a short one. I didn't have enough space to recap the entire arc.

If it ever was copyrighted to begin with, it's not any more.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well actually, if you go to the U.S.Copyright Office search page: http://www.copyright.gov/records/
you'll see that the Kobayashi Maru story title is copyrighted by CBS Studios Inc.
I'd recommend that you remove or retitle this story-arc before it gets reported and you lose that slot to a locked mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't worry about it too much. The dev's are big enough nerds to appreciate the reference, and I seriously doubt any CBS employees are combing this game for their precious copyrights. -
Okay, this is just getting silly. Tried restoring my system, tried switching the port. NOTHING. I REALLY do not want to wait 20 minutes just to be able to log on.

I am still leaning towards not bothering anymore because I dont want to offend people with my opinions.

But... that's ALWAYS going to happen
Look, when critiquing ANYTHING, there is going to be a frank exchange of viewpoints between the person doing the review and the person being reviewed. Part of being a good critic is highlighting the "good" aspects of a piece of work (in this instance, the parts you liked about a person's Arc), but being brave enough to point out the "bad" aspects of a piece of work (int his instance, the parts you DIDN'T like about a person's Arc). You shouldn't worry about offending people with your opinions; that's part of the critiquing process. It helps the reviewer become a better critic, and it helps the reviewee improve their work.
I think TV Tropes said it best when it comes to this issue.
It's up to you, like I said before, at least try to give it a few more shots before quitting the whole thing

I did indeed watch the video, and I am not concerned. I don't use many maps that are hard to find glowies on, and if you due ragequit, so be it. All three have gotten enough plays already that a low rating really wont effect them that badly.
But mostly I really want to see my arcs reviewed video-style, even if it is a bad review.
One more thing: Not a single one of these arcs contains a defeat all. -
5/16/09. Applied another layer of polish. Fixed some spelling errors, shuffled around some customs, and snipped off some dangling plot threads that were left over from previous iterations of the arc.

Well as long as people are bailing from the queue...I might as well slip my 3 part epic in here.
The Lost Choir. A 3 part epic tale of God and the Beyond, The Lost Choir explores religion both in the real world and in the world of City of Heroes. ID's 123675, 136959, and 141011. -
This is one I literally just woke up from, after I decided to have an afternoon nap out of sheer boredom.
I was in a high end electronics store, along with my two roommates. I hadn't come there to buy anything, so I was just waiting on them. I walked down one aisle selling Wii hardware, and was intrigued by a strange device that said it would remove bugs from your games. It looked sort of like a sewing machine with a disk tray in place of a needle and a big hand pump for air.
Finally my roommates announced they were done, and we exited the store...right into a dismal and gloomy abandoned warehouse...
While my one roommate Steve just ran towards the door, my other roommate John made a massive flying leap across the room, one that was clearly aided by superhuman abilities. I followed him with a similar leap, and proceeded to lunge off the walls and to the door.
We opened the door to find ourselves in a BIGGER abandoned warehouse, but this one was mostly free from clutter unlike the previous one. We stood facing a corridor on the left hand side of the far wall, and right next to it, a massive door leading to the outside. Through the door I could see a massive cityscape, and above it a glowing red pinpoint of light. I somehow knew that this point of light was an eye, and it was looking for us. We darted to the far wall, and sheltered just to the left of the door before the eye could see us. My roommates peered outside, while I looked into the corridor to our left.
There, walking slowly towards us, was a massive horse, at least 40 feet tall, made entirely from multicolored flame.
"PLASMA HORSE! RUN!" I yelled to my roommates, and forgetting the eye, we sprinted outside.
As we ran down a large ramp that lead out of the warehouse, I saw three young girls, all about 13 years old running the opposite way. I yelled at them to turn and run. They followed us, but then informed me that they had just seen a massive shark right at the spot we were now.
I turned to the right, and a massive toothy maw, big enough to swallow a jetliner whole, burst through the wall.
Just then, I woke up. -
Well it appears I did connect...after attempt #15...Any reason why it is taking so long now?
