Quote:It could be variable I suppose. But I'm positive that once we had the fight down well enough for me to really pay attention to the length it was only a few seconds. Perhaps it continues ticking as long as there are player targets in the area (making it a real PUG punisher.)I don't believe it's just a matter of perception. I'm fairly certain that the aura is going off close to half the time on average.
Edit: Because I misspelled the word 'It.' -
Quote:Yes I have run it. Enough to have the "Master of" badge. It probably just seems like a really long time to you because of your frustration at having to interrupt your regular attack chain.Have you run it on live? Because when I ran it, the damage ticks continually as long as the lightning graphics exist, and for a couple ticks after it goes away. And the lightning seems to be in existence about half the time. It seems functionally the same as the patches in the Apex trial, and other than not growing, the same as MoM. Maybe it was different on test?

Tyrant's 'crackle' isn't really a patch of death in the same style as the Battle Maiden blue and MoM pink. Those two last a good bit, the latter actually growing. Tyrant pulses for a few seconds and then it's done until the next crackle. Yes, you have to run out. But you don't have to STAY out of the area. It's so brief that I really question the usefulness of taunting him out of it.

Why the hate for control incarnates? We can't hold Tyrant no matter how much of it we stack on him!

I'm not sure how crazy you need to be with regen debuffers, but probably somewhat loaded up. As I said, our league was well staffed with it. That wasn't by design, it just happens that those were the characters people wanted to bring.

Reposting what I had earlier posted on the Victory forums:
Quote:As a league with mostly the same people on all runs we ran the trial enough to get everyone unlocked on hybrid (some got it earlier from prior runs or farming the IDF), then once more where we attempted to get "The Really Hard Way" badge. We didn't get it, but we did manage "The Hard Way" and a Master of. As far as the league makeup I think the biggest factor in our overall success was that we had plenty of debuffs (including four rads.)I (based on last night's MP runs) would call this a fight where you really need strong debuffs, especially regeneration, and people to be +3. The +3 requirement shouldn't be that hard to meet since you have to have all the other slots unlocked to run it at all. Other than that I'd say (again based on how we did things) the keys are:
1) Keep the wells closed unless you're going for a badge.
2) As soon as you see the "Air Crackles" warning, get the heck away from him. This is probably the most important strategy bit.
3) Make sure you're behind him if you're not tanking him. Frikkin' lasers on his frikkin' head hurt.
4) Have tanky types who aren't tanking Tyrant try to keep the adds from away from squishy types. Ground-targetted area controls seemed to help with this too, but the whole thing was too frenetic for me to pay much attention to what my earthquakes and volcanic gasses were doing.
FYI, I don't consider myself a particularly awesome player. There were others on the league that ARE awesome players, but I was more like one of those little fish that follows sharks around. -
I died several times in the first few runs from not getting out fast enough. It's hard to fight the impulse to get "just one more" attack in before moving, but I learned the hard way to run as soon as possible. Those who were there with tanky-types could give a better idea on whether having high health will get you through it, but a squishy who doesn't hoof it is dead.

Sounds like you have to make sure people are +3 and people are playing sharp.

I for one was glad to see some real difficulty in this one, especially after finding Dilemma Diabolique to be way too easy for a league of +3's.
Edit: Others who were on successful runs feel free to add to or correct my observations. -
It's a statue of Captain Generic. To this day he's so well know that countless hero's take his name to honor him.

Do pets receive any benefit from any of the Hybrid abilities other than support?

I'm in. Earth/Rad troller by preference. Or I can bring an Ice/dark tanker, thugs/poison MM, or KM/WP scrapper as needed.

I recently did the Envoy for the first time since, well....since the first time I did it. Scaled down to an EB he's not nearly as scary as he once was. But back when he was always an AV....ugh.

A quick look at your other posts shows an ability to communicate. I call shennanigans on this thread.

So the name options have narrowed a bit....

A wienermobile wouldv'e been better. Especially for the sophomoric humor.

Quote:I love the MM AT, but I could never play one with FF secondary. To the title question.
My reason. My first villain to lvl 50 was a Mastermind... a bots/FF.
I had all my commands to the pets on my numpad, played it as good as i could, but I found it boring. I had decided that I wanted to unlock the Veat, so I did get the mm to 50. Now... she is simply gathering dust!
My playstyle is blapper and I love blasters/dominators and Def/corrs, so that must be my second reason. -
Then there's the Bruiser who always opens with a long activation time rock throw when he should be up close smashing. The arsonist, of course, runs right on in to the melee.

DFB mean Death From Below. It is a low level trial and currently the most popular method of early powerleveling. It is joined through the LFG system but most teams are formed before starting. Blue side most groups are formed near Ms. Liberty in Atlas Park. I don't know if there is a standard formation area on red side, but the trial is run much less frequently than on blue.

The cigars are kinda pointless. If they lit them the Starbucks would get kicked out of the Starbucks. And shouldn't the one on the right be Stardoe instead?

Quote:You definitely don't get Arbiter Rein as a contact until your security level is 35. It would be nice if it was otherwise.Edit: And after thinking about it, maybe the patron contact unlocks at combat lvl 35 and not security lvl 35. So you could level up to 35 and just not train, then do the arc, then go train to lvl 35. I REALLY doubt it works this way, tho, but it would make sense in this isolated case to do it this way, if it's possible.

Only if your boss level minion is one of the support types. MM personal attacks are slightly more effective than a tier 1 minion. The attacks are nice to have, but taking them may not be worth a power slot depending on your secondary. The sets where the attacks have good secondary effects (Demons and Beasts) are an exception.
