I remember debating whether to slot for permahasten or put some defense into it before deciding to go permahasten only for it to go away almost right afterward.

On the flip side, I still see people sometimes who claim that X character was "retired due to ED" or is now "unplayable due to ED", which is hogwash.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a character who 'retired' after ED, my AR/Dev blaster.
The combination was great fun with six-slotting, was a boring mess without it.
That boredom, a direct result of ED, destroyed my motivation to play him.
You can drag anything to 50, true, but that doesn't mean they're "playable".

Ok seriously, this' the second time I've seen someone knock /dev. What the crap? How is AR/dev even remotely unplayable? -
You could say it's part of her uniform as part of an intergalactic military?

Meh, I just heard it was really bad. :/

:O wut wut wut!? -
I still say she looks like a grav troller. Too bad AR doesn't get the nifty ray guns that bot MMs get. Why the /dev hate if you're making her an AR?
What's so wrong with /dev?

Hello there, I was just messing around with the costume creator and came up with this beauty:
Unknown Superhero!
My only problem is, I can't think of a name/powerset/concept to go with the costume. I'm a little picky about what I make, sadly.
Rules:
- Has to be space/alien themed as I run a sg with this theme
- No /Devices blasters whatsoever!
That's about it. Halp me City of Heroes forums!

That just screams grav/kin troller to me. -

Psst. They upgraded the servers in like 2006-2007 and the new "1 blip" indicates a lot higher load than the old "1 blip."
[/ QUOTE ]
Could you cite your source?
[/ QUOTE ]
My exact source for the exact information? Like.. 1 2009 blip=2.6 2006 blips exactly or something? Not that quickly.
Will the announcement about the extended server downtime for upgrades and the initial announcement that they were re-investing in the game and it's servers do for now?
Hmm, funny.. over 15 months ago.. not quite 18 months, but still. -

Because so far the 'anecdotal' evidence is that it's expanding.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL What?
I remember when even Victory was a 3-yellow blip, "Medium Load" server on the select screen during peak hours (2005-2006). I haven't seen it go above 1-blip on the select screen in over a year and a half, even during the free weekends.
My anecdotal evidence clearly shows the game has contracted and continues to contract, disputing your anecdotal evidence.
--------
See what I did there?
See why presenting facts is a good thing?
If the OP didn't present facts, you can turn around and present logic supported by official facts, completely shutting down his thread for good. If you argue back with your own anecdotal evidence, you're feeding trolls and allowing them the opportunity to fight back with a "nuh-uh" or "no u" defense (like the one above).

Yet Freedom and Virtue were still grayed out during the 5-year events with the higher load servers. *scratches chin* Wonder what that might mean. -

Ahhhhh, I was unaware of this. Hmm, that's a difficult situation then. Perhaps truly starting everyone from ground zero would be for the best? I'm not sure.

Content was needed at the get go, and I understand and appreciate that. I personally think the initial stories that showed up on the MA when I14 went live for the first few minutes should have been done by the devs and NC staff. Anything that was Dev's Choice on Test should have been taken note of and after a short time of I14 being live if the players had published the stories live then they'd be given recognition.
I know I'm waffling a little bit. I don't want to upset people and say their work was all for naught, but at the same time I don't think it's fair to future creators, as any time that's passed since I14 that your story wasn't already done and tweaked and published is creating a disadvantage for you in regards to tickets, badges and notoriety. Especially in a system that rates a one 5-star voted story above a 500+ vote story averaging 4 stars.
Do Dev's Choice story authors get tickets for the votes they get? Because if they do then that either needs to stop or the Dev's Choice stories need to be moved off of the front page and into say a separate section just for Dev's Choice stories that's still easy to navigate to but doesn't slap them right in the average MA user's face as it currently is. -
[ QUOTE ]
6: Unpublish all non-Developer's Choice arcs - This is the only fair way to make the field level again after the revisions are made to the rating system. DC arcs would be DC regardless, and thus wouldn't need to be unpublished. Everyone would be able to republish their arcs immediately, giving them a fresh start on the new rating system.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. The DC arcs started with an unfair advantage at the publish of I14 by being made DC arcs at the start. They're right there on the first page in front of you and based on how some people talk about going through the list based on how "good" they're rated as being, that just makes it more unfair to other stories.
Do you honestly believe it'll be possible for any newly created story to make it to Hall of Fame and/or Developer's Choice without the kind of ratings push the Devs don't want to be done? Believe it or not, not everyone goes onto the Test server, and everyone certainly didn't have very early Beta access to work and tweak their stories before they were transferred over and made live, etc.
Having them as Dev's Choice from the beginning as well as even allowing them to be transferred over from Test to be published right at the beginning, is tied with the star system and tying them to badges for the Dev's greatest mistake regarding the handling of MA. -

I dont know if it has been said but, Will we be able to *be in* the rogue isles if a hero turned bad and vice versa?
Cause if not then it isnt really as cool as it could be. Still sounds cool but to take a blaster, tank, whatever into the rogue isles themselves would be just way to cool
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering they said "For the first time, Hero characters can become Villains and vice versa, enabling Heroes to cross over to the Rogue Isles and Villains to experience Paragon City." I'd say it's fair to say yes. -
Investing a little bit of time in finding a decent Freedom-based (or whichever server you're on or decide to go to) global channel and taking the time to become active in it will exponentially increase your ability to find a team and feel a part of things.
Badging channels, even if you're not a badger, are a good place to start because they're generally massively populated compared to other channels. Plus, as a PVPer there are badges you could easily get some help getting that would be beneficial to you. -

Are you saying there was a nerf on individual critter rewards? If so, I'm not aware of it. A warehouse mission should give as much out as it did before, unless it was giving out more than 1500 before.
[/ QUOTE ]
To be totally clear with you, yes, all mobs in MA should be giving more tickets than they are giving right now. Not saying that they were nerfed. Im saying they never gave enough from start. Now, was i clear enough for you this time?
[/ QUOTE ]
If I had to put it more concisely, I'd say that the interval and/or rarity of ticket drops has changed, like they went from say a 20% chance of a ticket drop to 10-15% chance.
I noticed this last night in a quick mish I put together to see if I could get close to the ticket cap of 1500 now. I used to hit 9999+ with it at 50 when the same map was filled with level 52 (53 technically?) Comm Officers, but this time I only hit the 1500 cap with the end mission bonus fighting level 54 minions.
<_<
It'd be a lot easier to test this kind of stuff if we could get some sort of pseudo-ticket salvage for test mode that was only there for testing to see how well the mission was performing. -
Some outdoor zones without any modern landmarks in them at ALL. It feels goofy to say a story's in the past but have War Walls or a big giant Arachnos building or casino in the background.. and I'm too much of a stickler when it comes to my arcs to feel comfortable publishing something unless I'm completely comfortable with it.
-
Not unless you trigger them to, but then you may not get them to spawn in the same spot, depending on your map size. They still wriggle and jiggle tauntingly, though.
-
Might I suggest the Vanguard Shield/Sword giant robots?
-
I tend to avoid DC arcs, as I feel them being published and praised from the get go gives them an unfair advantage to the rest of the stories.

Then there's the kind of REALLY BAD I like to play, which I guess you could define as TOTALLY RUTHLESS. I am bad, I want to take over the world and rule it with an iron fist, and I will squish any insignificant peon who gets in my way. That's the kind of bad I want to see more of, because there is practically none in dev-created content.

For your consideration:
Axis and Allies (arc id #1379)
Go back in time, assassinate Hitler, and take his place. Lead the Axis powers to victory in WW2, crush democracy, and Conquer the World.
[/ QUOTE ]
Any arc that has you assassinate Hilter, puts you on the Hero side. I don't care what you do afterwards.
[/ QUOTE ]
Spreading the Nazi doctrine of Aryan superiority and the genocide of lesser races into a global realm beyond Hitler's wildest dreams and metatextually getting people to support and praise such a thing is pretty villainous, I'd say. -

Clearly, people who say there's nothing interesting in CoX to look at or explore haven't been to the Shard.I go to the Shard to sightsee and.. yell at the fountains, but that's inadvertant. Also, have you people BEEN to Faultline? I love that zone. The PvP zones are amazing to look at too to just explore.
Since the player mentioned "that other game," I for one am glad the majority of CoX isn't set in zones capped at 25 where everyone's competing for the same goals. Could you imagine if they lowered Lusca's spawn rate and then had everyone's contacts in the level range have you go take her down to get a sucker from her tentacle that was a random drop for those people/groups who did x% damage to her? -

I already play all the ATs.

I have played them, but I don't like playing in the Rogue Isles.
I have a feeling, though, that switching sides will amount to switching over solely in the mirror universe rther than, say, having a Stalker running around in normal Paragon City with the general hro populace.

Except they say in the blurb, yanno..

And hey, where the hell is my moon zone[/color}???
[/ QUOTE ]
The moon zone is not what you think it is. Very appropriately, it butts up right against King's Row. They decided to utilize that blocked off entrance on the back end of the zone. I just hate to think of what problems will rear their head with it.

lol, forum n00b? -
O_O Where'd this thread come from? o_O O_o it may be old, but.. *noms on Budo's horns* Right now old horns are better than no horns.
I DIDN'T NECRO THIS, IT CAME BACK ON ITS OWN, I SWEAR! -
Are your unlockables attached to your global then, too?
And also.. off topic from the op but still a question.. if I use Nictus Romulus, do the Essences come with him too? -
Is there as of yet a thread for requests for things to be added to MA? If there is, I'd like to know so I can ask to either allow using existing models and give them powersets or MA only costume pieces for lower level enemy groups like the Hellions, Skulls, Outcasts, etc, so we can make more accurate costumes for higher level versions of them.
