It's all about connections, which fits the show to a T. The crash of Oceanic 815 was how they came to know each other, so yeah, it's how they were tied together. It's interesting to note that Miles was in Purgatory but wasn't there, same with Charlotte and Daniel. They had bonds with the Losties, but those weren't the strongest bonds.

Which means the Ajira flight leaving the Island (with Sawyer, Kate, etal) crashed and burned......
No, Christian said that everyone dies eventually. Some died before him, some long after. Plus, Hurley said to Ben "You were a great number 2." and Ben said he was an amazing number 1, which means they were Jacob and Richarding it up for awhile.

Our synthetic life forms have to be some of the most well off and most stable synthetic life forms in the comic genre.
  6. Rewatching the pilot on abc.com. It's hard to believe it's ending. Now what'm I going to do on Tuesdays?

  8. I can't wait for the epic finale migration music!
  9. Since someone mentioned Terra Volta, can we please get it updated at least a little to acknowledge the problems? If not some sort of battle between security/police and the Freakshow constantly outside, could Paragon City borrow some of the overly abundant hulking mechs to guard the door? I mean, I can scrounge up the Vanguard merits myself to get some Heavy Cores to donate, as long as Paragon City pays to repaint them.

Personally, I'd also love to see the final part of the respec mission changed so that the Freakshow enter through holes they blast in the wall, the Sky Raiders enter through a hole they blasted in the ceiling and the Rikti enter through portals, instead of the static doors they are now, but I don't think this' the place for that.
  10. I agree with an asian themed district, and would love to see a tranquil park area with cherry blossom trees using the physics system and say a koi pond.

Aside from more diversity, what about having specific items or places that are activated for certain events or times of year. Say, most of the time it's empty, but when Christmas, Halloween and the 4th of July is activated, decorations are added to sections. If possible, I mean. Why doesn't anyone in Paragon have Christmas lights in their window?

Someone asked about something to help with roof hopping. How about window washing platforms? Also, since the lower zones seem to be the ones with the taller buildings, how about putting some different level mobs on the tops of skyscrapers, such as Sky Raiders, Rikti, etc, since there aren't many hero-side high level skyscrapers.
  11. I just want to know when my girlfriend's elec stalker learned a long range elec blast attack at level 20 something without her even knowing. I'm referring, of course, to the "Perfect Clone".
  12. I can't talk about what everyone's used to with high FSAA on, but I figured since I was mucking with the settings that I'd bump it from the usual Off to x2 to see what it'd do. I also had AO on and it made the jaggies so I turned it back off. If I had to guess, I'd say for the time being, FSAA has an inverse effect with AO on, so setting it to Off should fix things.

Until they fix it, that is. Which should've been today. Why isn't there a patch today?
  13. For what it's worth, this isn't like global issues in the past. They're flat out gone for a certain % of the population for however long at a time. It hasn't been a constant thing that they've been down for a long time for bouts at a time, then back up for awhile.

We're going to end up rioting here with all this anticipation if the prepurchase doesn't go up soon.

  16. With the trading of inf and items amongst same faction toons through email, one can only hope that offline SG/VG invites through email are coming soon.
  17. I demand charts! Venn Diagrams! Something with pictures to easily show to me and the general userbase what can or can't easily or barely run UM, etc. Less demanding and more suggesting.. if you don't have the equipment, might I suggest getting together a group of testers with a ride variety of graphics cards and let them into Test with a temporary NDA and have them do something like specific story arcs, TFs, etc, together in UM while the devs or player reps join them or watch?

  19. Can't they just change these contacts to pop up a "someone wants to talk to you" new contact prompt when you hit a certain level?
  20. Personally, I think there's going to be an issue before GR comes out, so that's probably what's going to be tested, say during the Valentine's Day event, and will feature at least some GR changes put in place to take some testing weight off the time and to "prep" the userbase in some ways.

Also.. pre-orders of GR are a step? Where can I preorder GR??
  21. *puts a hand on my hips and waggles the finger of my free hand at the two of you.. taps a foot for good measure*

If the two of you aren't going to be able to play nice in this thread and instead make it into a personal conversation, then you should take it to PMs. While seeing new posts in this thread is good to keep the thread alive, I can't help but wonder if your massive walls of text and insular discussion isn't driving people away from reading or posting in the thread.
  22. I'd update the Clockwork to make them a little less rusty and have them in every zone except maybe the Hami and magic only zones, even if it's a rare spawn in the zone. And in each zone you progress from the starting zone, they'd start to incorporate bits of tech from the enemies of the zone.

I also endorse the Clockwork Civil War but I'd like to add a caveat. You know eventually there'll be a mission involving the Praetorian Clockwork on Primal Earth in some form, and as soon as that happens, the war in Boomtown ends and instead the zone event becomes the CK building a device to invade Praetoria and Heroes/Vigilantes can either stop it or destroy it.

For example, one of the things that's been a niggling annoyance (the 'wish I could do this' kind) is with the Tech Sleek set (click on image for a bigger version):

If you use the 'Tech Sleek' pattern, you get the outfit colors divided neatly, with the armor plates being one color and the flexible mesh the other. But for other patterns, the pattern covers the entire costume piece. What I wanted was to have the flexible mesh a fixed dark color, with the armor plates having the pattern on them. For example, getting urban camo by specifying the 'Camouflage' texture with white and black as the colors, but have the camouflage pattern only on the armor plates, not the flexible mesh.

And apparently there is a mechanism in the costume code for this -- part of a costume piece can be designated 'uncolorable', which means that it will always be the color 'baked in' to the piece, like the buckles on some pieces, and any patterns would be applied to the remainder of the piece. So some types of retexturing are just a matter of the devs a) having the art department not busy with other things, and b) deciding that additions like this is a good thing to do. Unfortunately, we don't know enough about what's going on behind the screen to tell whether the art staff have the time to make additions like this.
What can be colored or not is literally as simple as an alpha channel in the texture file in Photoshop, if I remember right from when I changed one of the male heads to have a snake bite piercing on it's lower lip. Maybe duplicated Tech Sleek pieces, too.. I haven't really seen if you can just have two channels like that or what. *shrug* But yeah, it's really easy.

if Jay could make some of these happen he would be the sexiest guy in history.
Or you could make some textures yourself. I've been damn tempted to make some, but I have no idea if we can post them on the forums or not.
