its so sweet its making my teeth hurt. Those lights with the spotlight effect. win. -
mmmm stage gear mmmm....
Would be cool to add a soundtrack to those things. -
Since we are throwing low hanging fruit around I think its time for a food fight.
Look at them spotlights. Yummy. -
Lets get this ball rolling.
Lets support it and keep it alive. -
What is this leg work that Turbo has done?
I would like to know more it sounds interesting. -
Quote:I would like to give it a chance. Our intention was not to make anyone mad. This is not the first time someone has tried to carry this torch only for it to be dropped, then picked up again and rinse and repeat.
Turbo has gone further than anyone. If we dont support him then, if we remain on opposing sides fighting for the same cause, then yes nothing will get done.
Do we want to continue to be ignored or will we give this idea a chance?
At this point anything is better than nothing at all.
Edit: Even if its off to a rough start it has to start somewhere. -
Quote:What about that Giant robot that you keep in the hangar of your base that you can summon and help you out once an hour? Doesn't that thing cost prestige to buy it upgrades and keep it repaired?I just wish there was a purpose to Prestige, beyond making storage and transportation hubs
Oh, wait.. nevermind I'm awake. -

Quote:and saying it quite well for all the right reasons.OOOORRRR.... MAAAAAYYYYYBBEEEE
This small group of self-empowered individuals should have come to the community FIRST to garner our support.
Something along the lines of, "Hey guys, some of us are thinking about putting a committee together to open the lines of communication with the Devs... Anyone interested?"
THEN there might not be this feeling of closed door, back room dealings that sets some of our teeth on edge.
I posed a series of questions earlier in regard to how this committee is being formed and who is being "allowed" to participate... and have not yet received a satisfactory answer.
Jus' sayin'.

Ditto.
As far as the wish list is concerned the #1 should be the wxyz axis tool.
If we were going to get any base editing updates, that should be the top on everyone's list.
I would suggest a small start with just that tool alone before adding textures or objects. -
Such a mean thing to say. It's like you can't wait to misunderstand someone or pick a fight with this "your kind"
The wait for i19 is bad enough, but, do we really need to resort to this type of berating for kicks? That makes you look like ...blegh...
I know I have a whacked out sense of humor and it can put people out... but something like that coming from you GG , That is so... mean spirited...
Seriously... go to anti bully school or something.

Telling a lie or financial shortcut?

Quote:Thanks I was waiting for that.Occam's Razor. Which is more likely:
1. Bases are getting ignored because senior members of the dev team hate them.
2. Bases are getting ignored because improvements to them would require a lot of effort and only benefit a small portion of the player population.
I'll choose #2 please.
That's something that a base committee could actually disprove.
Edit: is there a new hierarchy or any word of replacements? -
Quote:Or knowingly. The Back Ally Brawler thing sounds like there was some conflict going on between BAB's and NCSoft, so NC brought someone else to work on animations and then BAB's unknowingly trained his replacement.
With his skills it won't take long for employment to find him. -
Quote:Very well. I am closing in on the completion of the Infinity Labyrinth. The problem with that, Hassenpheffer is that by giving up and remaining quiet until something comes, the devs may continue to overlook bases as "not worth the time", and it becomes a self-destructive cycle.
My suggestion to the committee, once it's formed, is to scour across the City of Community playerbase and rally the troops, basically, we don't need to petition, but we need to let the Devs know that base building CAN be a profitable investment.
now I'm not saying to go all crazy, but still, just something, so that maybe if we all shout out as one, the Olympians might hear us.
Maybe it can be ready for Halloween?
Maybe we can ....organize an event?

Quote:Alrighty then lets just do that. Lets form a committee. Lets get all hyped up and networked together. Lets get excited and enthusiastic. lets tour and feed off of each others ideas. At least these guys are trying to do something about it. Im more of a complainer so I rather do that then try to form a committee.
When it all comes to pass and there are no base updates and its all swept under the rug, what is going to happen to the committee then? Its going to turn on itself and tear itself to shreds out of disappointment and anger. then the forums are going to light up with people going back and forth at each other.
Joy.
Remember this?

Certain restrictions in base building are being adjusted and/or removed so with that comes some freedom and more options, from an editor perspective, the degree of control and fine-tuning you have in placing items. So thats one thing. Ive seen a lot of creativity with the way players use one object (or hundreds of them) to act as another so my other plan is to provide more base objects, more textures, and more themed sets. Suggestions?
That was from War Witch. It was about improvements to the base editor. It was also a very long time ago. That information is past its expiration date so it counts for "?"
I would have been sold on it had it not been for this one word. "Suggestions"
No.
Kat has compiled a huge list of every kind of base love. You would have to either be blind or ignoring it to have missed that. I'm going with ignoring. I have bet on the other horse enough times to know that horse doesn't win.
Have we heard anything since then regarding bases?
Anyone else getting a "Someone in power is holding a grudge against base editors" vibe, or is it just me?
Just me? <you wish>
Actions speak louder than words, and for that matter so do in-actions. The silence...truly is deafening.
Lets not form -anything- until we hear that there is going to be something worth forming over.
Something good something updated and something the devs would take interest in.
I don't want to see a bunch of people -especially if they are potential base editors- get their hopes up just to get a big fat let down.
What a way to go. -
I would have hope if we actually heard that they were going to do something with bases in i20.
That would require them actually talking to us.

Quote:And I thought waiting for i19 was giving me cancer. The developers also consider players who do this to be abusing the system and terms of service.
... and just what would this do to the player struggling to just SO their avatar out at level 50?
You know, 95%+ of the entire playerbase.
Edit: I should apologize for that... but I won't. I like you je_saist but come on, if you really are struggling in that manner I can offer to teach you a few survival methods, you might even find them...enjoyable.... -

Quote:Perfect example why it's all too easy to turn a back on pvp.Yeah, he seems to have a general interest and understanding as far as the perpetual "**** that *** *** i13" thing. Some solid ideas, too. I just wish he was actually able to make some changes. Unfortunately he doesn't have a real say in what actually happens and is implemented.
Hopefully that changes in some way or devs actually listen to what he relays. Til then.... random 1v1s and failed Leagues/Ladders. Oh... yay.
There's this too...

Being an animator myself, I know of a good reason for him leaving.
Personal growth.
I can't say what the other departments are like, but I know, as an animator, every time you touch those programs and create things your skill levels up.
Sometimes tremendously depending on the flow of ideas.
I think he outleveled the City of Heroes content.
He is beyond what they can throw at him and has been for a while.
His best bet now is to seek the next challenge, it will probably find him first.
I'm not going to wish him good luck because someone with that level of skill doesn't need it.
Good luck to the others. -
Quote:I'm sure that no matter where ugly head hides I will find himSo has anything been done to the way Jack in Irons spawns in the 20+ zones ? IE is it still a 10% chance he will spawn per Eochai defeat ? One of the biggest complaints each year is that Jack just doesn't like showing his head, personally i've defeated 30+ Eochai in Brickstown to finally get a Jack to spawn ... others have reported even higher numbers ... So, with that said ... has this been changed ?
And YAY halloween salvage ...
good to see you on again. -
Expect interference.
