IOW: Just how quickly do you think a very well done and challenging story arc can be completed?
Don't we already have well done and challenging story arcs in game?

Can our normal Peregrine/Grandville contacts reward incarnate based salvage for completing their arcs?

how hard would that be to implement/balance?

    That would solve everything really.

like Golden Girl said, "It doesn't hurt to ask"
  2. I think what we could use is a compromise.

If I had the power to suggest one it would be this: A series of arcs that anyone can start that would yield a choice of component salvage or pile of shards.

Basically a scaled task force that requires only one person to start.

    Remember: just a suggestion.

I'm fine with whatever they come up with. I really dig the lore of the Well of Furies. I'd hate to see it go to waste on a shortcut like this.

This is why I don't like taking snippets.

I also said "challenging" please don't overlook that.

    thanks.

to be honest, I wasn't expecting a shard tradeoff. Which is fine, I have no issue with that, nor do I have an issue with the inf cost.

When they said a method for the soloist I was thinking something of a chain of missions via contact...

Not at all the shortcut that is being presented.

I thought this was going to be -content related- not "Here buy this instead GAWDUH"

I can get behind this, but I would rather get behind a very well done and challenging story arc that can be done either solo or with a small to large group.

It just makes this seem... I dunno if I'm being to hypercritical but... cheaply done? Not enough effort into developing content? What am I looking for here?

When Black Scorpion said they were investigating an alternate path, I guess they were looking at the cheapest easiest way around making an actual soloable chain of missions.

Its like terminator logic, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. No heart at all.

I mean I can't really be upset over this, I can meet the requirements, and I can't really blame the devs for not having enough resources to make a few arcs for the soloists...

I guess I'm just a bit disappointed, no new solo story arcs to unlock incarnates...

After thinking things over in great detail, especially how many people would be affected. my stance is this:

    Hell to the yes.

In fact, I'm so itchy to have a new base editor I'd go so far as to say do it anyway, regardless of what people say or think and if need be blame it all on me when things go wrong. That's something I would gladly accept the blame for. It's not like I can make myself into more of a whipping boy on the forums and it's not like I'm a stranger to making a fool out of myself.

Hell, I do it so often it's turned into a hobby.

I'm nutty like that and I hope you hate me for it! I'm living rent free inside your head!

Burn the playerbase. I'll take the blame for it and sing it as a celebrated fact.
This change is overdue and at this point I'm all about being a catalyst. I'm flammable baby! Douse me with gasoline, light me up and watch me burn down the forest. It will be glorious! and hilarious!

What drives RMT in other games (Aion being the one that irked me most with this) is the need to keep buying/repairing things. I'd hate to see desire for this be reason for a new wave of RMTers.
With so many striving to turn Incarnate, the RMT's will have good reason to show up in force should something that expensive go live.

    ...Also see "Unified Front"

Q: Is it possible for RMT's to delay game updates/production because resources from other departments would have to reroute to the anti-RMT squad?

Q: How would this affect the in-game economy with that many RMT's <?unknown number?> manipulating things?

I'm asking because in the fantasy game, I found alot of my guildies turning to RMT's to "buy a motorcycle" because of PRICE...

If this WAS as bad as That Fantasy MMO, then there would be NO option for solo-ers. You would have no option at all, and the standard would response would be "Yeah, suck it, we have 6million OTHEr subscribers. So, no, you dont matter."

If you seriously think the same is true here...all I can say is you have a very stranger perception issue, IMO.
Omg I'm actually agreeing with you 0.0

Thank you devs for the solo option. I'll try to run the TF's, I don't think I'll be able to, issues and whatnot ...so at least I have a solo option to fall back on.

    again: Thank you!

so, 20 m inf? I'd get behind that. So long as there wasn't a pointless cool down in between crafting. Making inf is cake. I donate the majority of my earnings to younger sg's to buy prestige, because ya know, I'm a dirty farmer.

I'm thinking something as long as the tails on the mastermind demons, without all the "butt sticking up in the air...in your face...scent check..." kinda thing going on...

Needs new wings! BIGGER wings! Lightning wings! Fire wings! Ice wings! Stone wings! <gargoyles anyone?>

I want me some reptile pack

    call it gestalt
  15. apologies, no real horror stories...

My very first STF and we get to ghost Widow. the team has hit a speed bump. I get the bright Idea to hit bloody bay for a fresh pack of shivans. about 15 minutes later the team is back on GW overwhelming her with green jello. the rest was cake thanks to someone explaining the battle plan.

My very first Nazi ballerina man type guy and I -had- to go afk for the grounding rod mission, totally missed out on the temp power, totally didn't need it. I forget the team make-up but we pretty much stomped a mudhole in everything. Shivans and backup radio this time. I also found myself in the role of "rez the scrapper guy" and burned through my temp revive power

I think the key to success is: bring as many temp pet powers as you can, be prepared like batman.
  16. This pack is awesome!

I can't wait to add this one to my collection!

I would LOVE to see a "dragon pack" of some sort eventually

It's soloable, it's not realy fast or "easy," the WST is still the fastest way, teaming up for non-WST TFs is second-fastest, soloing is slowest. It doesn't require adding another currency, and it can't be achieved through demon farming. Frankly, I'll take an Apex and a Tin Mage with a side of ITF over a down-powered slog through Sister Psyche's Neverending Freakshow Buffet any day.
I would prefer the notice to require Incarnate shards or salvage for crafting. At least keep it incarnate related and not require a large number of merits, a large number of shards, fine, merits...maybe not so much.

  22. I really hate to say this, I haven't run any numbers, I'm not seeing any decrease in shard drops, I'm not trying to brag or rub it in anyones face

This seems like a perception issue.

I've got over 100 shards to burn through and they seem to rain down on me, this is after I've crafted my bla bla bla...

    I mainly run solo.

all those shards and nothing to do with them.

I want to make my character more powerful, but I'm stuck waiting on this gated nonsense for whatever reason.

Maybe the Well just smiles on me alot.

    Maybe it's my +4 x8 diff...solo...

Maybe I'm just impatient, Maybe I just want what I paid for <GR>.
