  1. In advance, I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'd just like some quick input. From what I can tell, comparing these 2:

    Claws/SR:
    Higher HP
    Debuff Resistance
    Cheaper on the END bar

    Widow:
    Higher Damage
    Better team player

    Can I get some more notes comparing the two, pros and cons of each, etc. Which one should be a keeper? Thanks in advance

  3. My goal was to get enough recharge to run FU>F>S WITHOUT the Spiritual Alpha.

    Thus far I have:

    5 5% bonuses (4 red fortunes and a CI)
    5 10% bonuses (Ragnarok, Apocalypse, Armageddon, Hecatomb, Absolute Amazement)
    5 LoTG 7.5% bonuses
    Quickness 20%
    Hasten 70%
    Panacea 7.5%

    for 210% global recharge.

    Assuming I got 95-96% recharge in FU, that still leaves me needing about 7.5% more recharge. Does anyone see anywhere else I could sneak in that bonus?

  4. I've never actually used shockwave (yet) but I can't help but notice it has the second best DPA of any claws attack. Seeing as single target DPS chains are usually used against strong targets that can't be knocked back anyway, is there any reason to refrain from using SW in a single target chain?

    (I already ran some numbers, and with 3 damage enhancers in every power, FU>F>SW>Strike does 174.18 dps, while FU>F>Slash does 184.84 dps, but the shockwave chain requires 86% less recharge)

    Alright, I took my original build designed purely for damage, and I tried to squeeze out some regeneration and some hp bonuses, and got tough up. Can I get much tougher, and how?
  8. Thanks, I definitely like your build more, but I think I'm gonna make some itty bitty changes. I can steal a slot from hasten and have it have a 1 second downtime, which is probably worth more elsewhere, and I'll probably drop the mako proc for an end reducer in SK, simply because I don't like how much endurance the chain is costing. That reduces EPS by like .5, and moving the slot to health gives me like 15% extra regen and a little recovery (Miracle: Heal)

    does more DPS than the non-gloom chain but slightly less than the non cremate, but only needs like 50% global recharge

  11. Yeah, but then I see all the Fire/Shields with their SC and AaO and I get envious.

    Claws is one of the only sets without Shield guilt.
  12. If you have Going Rogue its even better, as you can get yourself 5 Luck of the Gamblers very easily, which combined with quickness and claws' natural speed gets you a pretty solid dps chain.
  13. That's definitely true, Mauk. SR isn't as tough as /Invuln. But I think SR manages to be ridiculously tough for ridiculously cheap. Also, the little slotting to max out SRs survivability means more space to slot to be an offensive powerhouse. Also, unless you're planning on farming from 1-50 in an afternoon, I feel like SR is more fun to level.

  15. First of all, I'd recommend Claws over Spines for an all around character. With that in mind, I'm gonna put my two cents in for Super Reflexes. I'm currently 47 on mine, and it's easily in my top 3 favorite characters of all time. Easy to softcap, lots of damage, fast moving, and all around fun!

    Claws is great AoE. Spin is shockingly damaging, and is the fastest recharging PBAoE around. Eviscerate and Shockwave just make it sweeter.
    Claws puts out solid single target DPS at high levels of recharge, and at low levels, its natural speed puts it near the top compared to other low-recharge chains.
    Some people worry about SR's survivability, especially in the new content, but I've only died a handful of times in my run, and I've been at x8 since about level 30 (starting at -1, now at +2, could probably bump higher)
    This build is quite literally "BEAST" like, if you know what I mean. Good single target, good AoE, nice mitigation. A simple character, but endlessly entertaining. And if you go this route, there's a good support system out there. I believe BillZBubba is the claws guru, and I've played this game for years, so if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

    I'm looking to take one of these two to fifty and make it my main, the question is, which one will I enjoy more?

    Conceptually, both are fine, so I'm mainly curious about:

    -AoE (guessing FS beats DT)
    -Single Target DPS
    -Endurance sustainability

    I want to make an IO'd to the gills toon, so any feedback before I start is welcome!
  20. I know EM gets an awful lot of flak, but running some numbers, it can put out solid enough DPS. I figure shield charge, the AoE moves from abysmal to forgivable. The +HP in shields makes ET hurt less.

    Will I regret this roll?
  21. Why? Looks like it has to recharge in (1.056+1.32=2.376) seconds. 7/2.376-1= 1.94. Doesn't it only need around 194% recharge?
  22. Why 2 BBs instead of SB>BB>QS>SB>CS? Is the slightly longer animation really worse than the higher DPA?
  23. Because of the mechanics of Power Siphon (and the crit recharge chance) I'm at a loss as to how to score a theoretical DPS number. Any tips?

    I was doing a little math using the optimal chains for each set, and am I right in observing that Martial Arts is now the top DPS set for Stalkers?

    Also, what are the optimal chains for stalker KM, Claws, DB, ElM, and Spines?
  25. I would, but if it doesn't do any -res, it'll just slow him, immobilize him, and maybe a few other pointless effects.
