  1. Any cheating will be stamped upon with the Steel Boot of DOOM™, and you will be instantly disqualified.
  2. Way too many to mention over the last 3.75 years, including notable classics everyone does like:

    #"OMG! - I can't move!" (AV closes in for the kill) - "Arrrgh! - Help! - ... Nevermind I left Rest on!"

#'R' Key Auto run death on Hami pre-battle.

    and...
#During the MoX Gumbal Rally in The Hollows: Mis-judging a key jump from girder to girder across a split in the Earth and plummetting to the bottom of the Gulch and almost the back of the race order. (I'd done it fifty times before in preparation for the race and absolutely no problems) - almost lost me the race that blunder. I remember turning the air blue with an extraordinary outburst of rather profane obsenities, cursing my stupidity as I fell.

    Thanks efan78.

  4. This sounds interesting but I'm afraid my knowledge of badge locations red-side is somewhat lacking compared to Blue-side, anyone suggest some prominate ones that could be flagged as checkpoints? - At the moment we are looking at the original race-course where we will gather at Kalindra and walk down to the startline near the entrance drones - then straight up towards Mongoose - through (or over the wall) into Mercy - throught to the Port Oakes ferry - straight past the arena and down to the Cap-Ferry - into Cap where we will race up through Aeon Plaza and the jump of faith from the plazas edge down to the Black Market towards the University.

I also have no idea how the new Halloween Zombie Apocalypse spawns could affect this race but it will certainly be great fun.
Any additional points of interest or where we should go from there?
  5. Official Canon is the bare-bone structural framework of the CoX universe... but Player-Canon is where the heart is and is what keeps me Reporting for Duty.™

I get way more of a buzz from seeing a Veteran Hero/Villain that I recognise still going strong than I ever did from seeing the Signature Heroes/Villains/AVs, and I enjoy reading the bios and their take on how their character is woven into the CoX universe.
  6. Thankyou Soul_Storm and Pipe_42 for volunteering to help marshall the event.

Also, has this been advertised anywhere other than the forums? Not everybody reads em, and a Global MOTD on the more popular chat channels, or even an official one on Union would be a big help.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It has been MOTD on Union Chat in the past and will be re-issued tonight as MOTD. Seeing as though It is a low level race server selection is Irrelevant as preparation of your race entrant which is why it is advertised on 'General' and not 'Union'.... that and General gets more traffic anyway.

GhostRaptor has kindly offered to advertise the event on the official website but he need details finalised with regard to level limit/AT restrictions and just how long the race is - which is why the thread is refreshed. Two weeks to go... I'd like to sort race details out within a week so we can have it advertised on the official EU.site for a week.

    All suggestions welcome.
  7. Ok,...
2 weeks to go so I suppose we should get serious about how this is going to work, I need help with this because I cannot spend all day on the forums working this out - but first:

    [ QUOTE ]
    # NCsoft Europe (Courtesy of GhostRaptor) kindly adds PPD codes for First, Second and Third places to Race winners, more PPD codes for second and third places on the Costume competition (to be held after).

    # Depending on turnout, If we can make this as popular as X4:Evolution attendance-wise (50 people or more) GhostRaptor has also kindly offered to bestow Yellow Titles for the Winners, this is I stress dependant on turnout - otherwise they will be temporary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right then, onto the race details.
This needs to be a lowbie race for obvious reasons, but the addition of yet another temp jetpack feature complicates things, Do we raise the lv-limit and make the race longer allowing for jetpack usage? or stick to a roadrace at the first couple of levels?.
  8. Have a nice long break Tygrrfang, give yourself 2-3 Issue updates of a break from all things 'City of' and you'll find your love of the game hopefully renewed on your return.

    Take care for now.
  9. Happy Birthday Fulcrum!, have a great day.
  10. Good luck with the real life adventure, I find it hard to believe that a Veteran of your standing will be able to resist the urge to sneak back into spandex after say... 3-5 Issue updates?, but I wish you both well if this really is farewell.

    Take care...x
    You'll be back.
  11. Many happy returns to Thorny Devil and General Panic.

    I13 screenies!

Dragon scales shield, Vahzilock corpse bodyparts shield, Hami Goo shield, Clockwork clock shield (cogs and mechanism), Circle Arcane pentagram shield (with engraved pentagram and runes).
  13. Aww bumsticks!

... See now round-a-bout now would be a great time for some reassurance that something will be arranged officially for next year.

#Nice big 3-day-long weekend event, lots of food, drink, games and prizes.
    #Funded by NCwest.

Its a real shame about Omega Sektor, I said hello to Omega Sektorian just the other week.
Damn, companies cutting back or going to the wall all the time now, this is really starting to feel like the worst recession since the early Seventies.

I was going to say!, yes, it is Little John that is more known for a Quarterstaff/stave as his signature weapon.

I am going to roll Munkeh with his fluffy prestige power-glide cloud. Anyone wanna be my Pigseh or Tr1p1ta3i?

Well, staves are also quite high on the list of requested powers - and that would still give you Robin Hood and Darth Maul, so it should keep everyone happy

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought Robin Hood used a bow and arrow?, hmmm, yes... pretty sure it was that thing with the string that you pull and a pointy thing flies out the other end.

The Talsorian shield is one I didn't expect and it looks rather nice. There is at last a proper hat and southern necktie for my Archery Trick arrow defender Hogtied, Talking of archery,... I hope somewhere in I13/14 we have finally going to get the tint-able back option 'Quivers'-Its long overdue!.

The new spread of Tuxedos look very nice!, but the phrase "all dressed up and nowhere to go" springs to mind. We need an Opera house/Ballroom (on a neutral Co-Op Island/dimensional zone) with a red carpet outside, waiting fans and Paparazzi behind barriers with custom targeted phrases.
It would be a good place to hold annual events and competitions.

Hang on you playing the right game here you do know this is CoX and not some fruity clothes show MMO dont you? if not then i think hello island kitty is looking for players

...and henceforth it will now be known as a Jar-Jar shield.
  18. To be honest I think the way this set has been designed plays to the strengths and strategies Masterminds utilise anyway.
This was never going to be sitting back in Bodyguard mode firing off Heal other/Aura/AB pain and fort.

Sure Its going to be a set which I suspect will need to be tinkered with a little in future patches before it being and playing how it was originally conceptualised, but it looks promising.

Hehe , seeing the amount of cosume contests we have - A catwalk in a fashion show enviroment held inside the opera house with an applauding audience and photographer's camera flashes would be great fun.
It would certainly capitalise on one of CoX's favourite strengths and pastimes that is the costume creator.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is one mission where you've to rescue a crowd at an opera performance from the Carnies.

But when you enter you get "This old warehouse has perfect acoustics for an Opera"

So we DO have an opera house. Unfortunately its like a billion other buildings in Paragon (its in Brickstown somewhere I think)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    A warehouse ?!?!

I'm sorry, My vanity will not be satiated until it looks like this.
    Mumsie demands an Opera house!

... with a shrubbery and a nice little path down the side.

    Question

My character names are inherently tied to the bios, the character (if they are roleplayed), and the way they act in-game.
If a fictional server merge did throw up a problem then I doubt I would be able to recapture my interest in the toon.

Like-wise with the competition (ie:Champions-Online/Dc Universe), If a company started playing silly buggers and insisting they can not permit duplication of your toons on another superhero game because they are Intellectual Copyright through the EULA (albeit your creation), then I would most likely delete the toon and emigrate.

So in my opinion in all its denominations ie: CoX--->CO/CO--->CoX/CoX--->DCUO/DCUO--->CoX and all the variations, - Its best if all companies concerned take a Laissez-faire attitude to player creations, their pride in them and not force their hand.
  23. I tend to be concept-led, So I'm usually horribly tied to origins and powersets in that respect. I'm inspired by conversations here on the forums, In-game or (occasionally) the name just comes to me in a flash of inspiration.

    Stone Gargoyle: Magic Earth/Storm Controller.
'Gargoyle' was taken, this was my second choice that turned out more appropriate in retrospect.

    Tabasco: Sounded hot and painful.
Mutation Fire blaster re-rolled after re-aquiring name. Now a Fire Dominator.

    Bikini Atoll: Mutation Rad Defender.
    Historical inspiration.

Lead Reign: Natural Dual Pistols/Thugs MM.
    Self explanatory.

Big Koch 8ft tall, Germanic. Tech AR/Robotics Mastermind and impromptu naturist.
Ousted as Co-CEO from Heckler and Koch this bitter meglomaniac fell back on his plan B and secret stash of high tech artillery. Secretly plotting his return and slaughter of the companies board.
Innuendo wore thin after a while, kept the bio - renamed: Industry.

    Pink Ring: Magic Energy/Psi Blaster.
What can i say?, Pink Lantern was taken. Just fancied Flying with 'World of Confusion' on.

Cucumber Quiver: Hopelessly camp Archery/Trick Arrow Defender.
Think I'd watched too much Smallville. Rolled after a joke on the forums.
    "Taste my Shaft Villain!"™
    *Twang*

    Foundry Natural Warmace/Willpower Tanker
Fancied something Norsey and Hammerish. Blacksmith to the Gods etc.

    Abhor WarMace/Elec Brute.
    Evil Machine-World *cough*Thor*cough* rip-off.
looking forward to taking Mu Mastery

Mother's Love Mutation Empathy Defender. (Roleplay/IC toon).
Flash of inspiration this one. Although subconsciously I think it may of been influenced by my own mother who was caring for me after I came out of Hospital.

Mr Tiggywinkle Magic Plant/Thorns Dominator. Vicious little 4ft Hedgehog and self-proclaimed 'Lord of the Hedgerow'.
Bio reads something along the lines of GhostWidow bestowing him power in a rare display of compassion after reversing over him in her Corsa.

Way, waaaay too many more to mention, but mostly concept-led then.

    British Beetle

Nice start British Beetle!, when you work on it some more have a little look at the legs, they appear to have atrophyed somewhat.
The knee joint is (in anatomy 101) at least as big if not bigger than the fist and the leg muscles should be bigger as well. I like the nice vibrant colours.
