Thanks Efan,... and thanks GhostRaptor - The ad is now up on the official EU.site. (because not everyone visits the forums).
-
<--- Is very flattered to be mentioned among such Illustrous Heroes.
- thankyou.
Damz contacted me yesterday evening and asked what I thought about the Union Legends/Phalanx Storyarc Idea.
I think its a fantastic idea that could make good use of our character's historys and be a fine addition to the player-led lore of these characters on the Union server for everyones enjoyment. Looking forward to chipping in with ideas when this thread pops up on the Union section of the forums.
Some, but not all -(otherwise we'll be here all day)- of mine:
ArmourGeddon
Infinitron One of the most capable, polite, respectful (and well-dressed I might add) Blasters you could ever hope to meet.
Stela (I blame you for turning me into a binds-monster by the way) "Detritus I summon thee!" (up pops animate stone)- I first saw that three years ago and was delighted to see that bind pop up when the Rikti invaded again.
Lost Samurai: (for his exceptional leadership and bravery combatting The Hamidon.
Mystie/Miss Blue Myst: I know your're part-time now (I think duty calls in WAR) but I miss your characters online -absolutely fantastic and very humourous creations.
MBM is an Empath I would happily leave any team in the care of.
Salacious: who I'm convinced has cracked the secret of time travel because nobody has time to collect 500+ badges on 10 toons even if they live in the game.
...and so many other Veterans (but not limited to):
Momma Crow "Kaa Kaaaah!"
Elizabeth Bathory: for her RP endeavours
Bovine Avenger
We miss moo, come back soon, (not only because of the hilarous cow-puns but because he is a fantasic blaster and I miss the broadcasted offers of free milk to people queueing in branches of Wentworths)
Warborg
Amasing Flame
Red Commissar
Catz
Zoser
Custard
You bring a massive smile to Mumsie's face when she sees you on-duty. Thankyou.
And to embarrass him right back, FFM (amongst others) who provide unsung help on the tech.section in a way I couldn't begin to dream of. Your help is very much appreciated.
/em,salute. -

Ok, the route is now from Mercy to Port Oakes to Cap Au Diable and ends in Grandville. Don't panic, theres just the one badge in Grandville and you are perfectly safe there unless you are extremely careless.
A big thankyou to LeighB you joined me Saturday with a run-through of the badge-collecting route.
There is a brief race-route walkthrough here: The Rogue Isles Race.
The rules are (but will be finessed if I have missed anything): No PFF (personal forcefield) - No Stalkers (for their obvious 'hide' ability - No use of the purchasable jetpack booster pack (any usage of this is instant disqualification and the crippling shame that comes with advertising you trying to cheat amongst your fellow racers in front of the community).
Race participants are encouraged in the spirit of villainy to 'grass-up' any unauthorised usage of said purchasable jetpack with screenshot evidence.
Don't even think about trying to discredit a fellow racer by doctoring fake evidence of jetpack usage, I'm a master at spotting fake pixels. [laughs]
Inspirations of any size are allowed.
Craftable etheral shifts are not - (can you craft at lv 4? -can't remember).
The sea is off-limits in Cap Au Diable as far as avoiding the plaza goes, you are not allowed to use a sea-route as a shortcut to the university. This will be monitored by marshalls to catch any transgressers.
You can slot for health, speed or damage resistance - or a small combination of either. Tactical usage of the GvE edition jetpack will be required. -
Yes, RockJaw was on the first programme that featured CoX, and he talked about Avatars and In-game community behaviour (characters dancing and roleplaying) I think the quote went (If memory serves) something like: "Sure, Characters fight crime and have amazing super-powers, but sometimes all they wanna do is just hang-out and chat".
There was a thread about it at the time of the original screening. -
I'll be spending today working out a badge-collecting route in Mercy/Port Oakes/Cap (and possibly Sharkhead) that is not susceptible to a deathport exploit.
Any of you would like to join me, I will be redside and unhidden, (contactable @Mother's Love and on Union Chat [public channel])in about an hour from now. -
What time in the evening do you think is best to run this deathrace come the 31st October? - feel free to post suggestions on a time or when you personally will be available.
Hows 8pm/20:00 (UK time) for the start of the race? -
As things stand I think it be best if this is a very low level race incorporating the collection of exploration badges, I'm still thinking no farther than Sharkhead.
Exploration Badges (and their lack of) mean everyone can be quickly checked on entry to be eligible and indentified as a valid winner at the finish-line. - I'll be Red-Side tonight from 9pm on a low level toon running variations on a course if anyone would care to join me and have any input on the course. -
Laughs - "speed of the poo-ma!" - think I'll bind that one to powexec_superspeed and an emote.
And whats with that Horseguy?.- That is one cartoon I completely missed way back when.

Also like the sound of Shadow Control

Yeah, could be a great fear-based set!, your toon stands round the corner from the mobs with a strong light.
Bite of the Crocodile!
Studyness of the Moose!
Speed of the Wolf!
Presence of the Bunny!

I've wondered about this myself, for 2/3 of my time on CoX I have had a creative soundworks 5.1 surround system even though now I play solely on stereo headphones.
With the 16-bit soundcard I presume enable 3D sound takes certain ambient SFX and location based SFX and channels them to the appropriate speaker in relation to where you are facing - at least that is how it felt when I used it. I am not sure the options '3D sound' is a true 3D software/hardware translation (akaolby 5.1/THX/Dolby Digital) but rather a pseudo-3D.

NoOoOooo ! [add echo and reverb] - You can't leave Chaos!, trying any other MMOS?

Reminds me of DC's Vixen: or the Wonder Twins
[ QUOTE ]
Vixen, aptly named after a female fox, was introduced in Action Comics #521. Her back story is rather simple compared to other heroes. Orphaned, Vixen aka Mari McCabe fled to America where she used her beauty to become a model, and with that wealth travel the world. On a trip back to Africa, she came across her uncle, and got back the Tantu Totem, using its power to become the Vixen.
Though only existing since the early 80s, she has made a nice impact on the DC universe. Only of the few heroes of African decent, and even fewer African Women (though technically she is African America, but not in the sense you might understand it).
Vixen wears an African artifact object called the Tantu Totem, a fox-head (again the name Vixen) shaped talisman given to her ancestors by the African trickster Anansi. Vixen can make direct contact with Earth's Morphogenetic field. This allows her to mimic the abilities of any animal she can think of, by simply focusing on a specific animal's abilities and then drawing it directly from the field. Currently, she seems to have to call out the name of the animal she wishes to draw power from in order to use that power such as saying "bear" before she could use the power of a bear.

Just because I want to shout out "I call upon the power of The Beaver/Sloth/Koala" -
Nooo Nestlé why? Why!

Thank you very much for your email.
Unfortunately we had to withdraw Rowntree's Bursting Bugs from our range in September 2006 as they were expensive to make and sales were relatively low. It was a difficult decision for us because we are proud of all our products and do not like to disappoint our consumers.
We hope you can understand why we took this decision. Thank you once again for taking the trouble to contact us.
Kind regards

Indeed!, there have been better feature update videos than that one!, that lacked the OoOoh factor in my opinion. -
I can imagine teleport could be adapted as a variation within a set (aka Warshade) with new animations to be a fantastic ground based teleport.
Eg: you target any spot on a flat surface with the target recepticle and (for sand or tunneling powers) your character dissolves into a pool of sand or tunnels and disappears mole-like into the earth - to reform or spring up amidst rubble at the target.
Sand would be a fantastic one in my opinion, as it lends itself conceptually both to increased density or phasing, ranged attacks or concealment (sandstorm). -
Taken from a Cryptic powerset wishlist poll, do you think any of these are possible with our current engine and could be introduced into CoX?

Sorry Paralux,
I didn't for one moment take it seriously. I should of added a winking smiley on the end of the post.
Nothing for you to apologise for.
