    Let's Go Farming

The following is based off of the song "Let's Go Sunning", played in Fallout 3. I don't remember who it's by. Why am I posting this? I don't know, and I sure as hell don't give a damn whether you like it or not, because I do.

Let's go farming, It's good for your team
Let's go farming, Within the data stream
    Greet AE, every morn,
Feel as happy and as free as when your toon was born.

Let's go native, farm your cares away,
Be creative, learn to alt and play,
    Level 50s need to farm,
    This applies to everyone.

Life's worth living, when AE's giving,
Great XP to everyone, so let's go farming!

  2. The biggest problem in the D are the trolls. Namely, the ones that like to pretend that heals are more important than buffs. There's an argument every day about it.

You know, in nations owing fealty to the British Crown, the age of consent is 16, not 18. America is one of the few nations (and most states don't even conform with the stereotype) where there exists some belief that 18 is a magical age at which sex suddenly becomes okay.

You need to watch a little less Dateline, I think, and stop trying to protect other people's children. Protecting your own is work enough for anyone (and it really isn't our job to protect your children for you).
Age of consent is 16 in most state laws, but the federal age of consent is 18.

In Canada, it's 14, in Japan, it's 13. In Yemen, it's 9, but only if the girl is married.
  4. Wait, how are you going to get a train from New York to London? Is it a hovertrain or something?

Wait, I meant to put end reduction in those, not recharge.

Either that, or give it an AoE taunt effect. It'd be something along the lines of "Hey, this moron is sitting down to take a break right next to me. Screw this big guy, I'm gonna kick this guy's butt!". This would help prevent it from being used in battle in addition to the massive defense/resist debuff.

I already have Energy Blast - additional knockback is generally a bad thing and it pisses the team off. I would rather have a power that does more damage than knockback, like Power Burst.

Aim can really wait until you're fighting the high level enemies that use a lot of Defense, and the third attack I would not call nearly as "important" as giving such a huge damage buff to your entire team, especially with all the other stuff you can do when you have no attacks recharged.

This is must my opinion, but I think Assault is really THAT good and THAT important to have on a Defender that it should be one of the first things picked whenever possible.
It's too late to change Assault, I'm already at level 18. However I can get Assault at level 24, or get it at 22 and Maneuvers at 24. Aim is okay to get at 30 for me.

I dunno, Force Field is a very "passive" set. When my attacks aren't recharged I really have nothing much to do that I can see.

Assault however will give you its full benefit early on, and speed up the whole team greatly. Everyone will love you. I for one pick Assault as one of my first power picks after I get my two blasts. It's just so helpful on both a team and solo.

Also I'd push Repulsion Bomb up sooner. It's now one of the best powers that FF has. It's knockDOWN, can stun enemies (40% chance for each enemy) AND does about the same damage to an AoE as your first level blast. It's totally sharky, complete!
I am at level 18 now, and Stamina is staying at 20. So I should get Assault at 22 and Maneuvers at 30, then? At 22 I'll be able to SO out my bubbles, giving me about 38-40% defense to dish out to the team. Maneuvers will increase that to a max of about 45%, which is at the softcap. I could get Repulsion Blast at 32, Tactics at 38 and Vengeance at 49, modifying the build I posted on the second post.
  11. Here's an improved power setup (unslotted):

The next time you type a sentence, do not press shift+9 shift+9 at the beginning, and do not press shift+0 shift+0 at the end. That's four separate keystrokes that require a combination to pull off, and you are chalking up their usage to an unconscious tic that cannot physically be stopped?

    Blueside is dead

I've searched for the last two days for a team for my level 16 FF defender and have found only one in Steel Canyon.

The only missions people seem to run anymore are ITFs and BNY missions.

    Blueside is dead. Discuss
  15. I agree with this. Reduce the recharge on Rest, lower the regen/recovery rate to compensate.

I enjoy tossing it into a crowd of Longbow and imagining them yelling "It's a grenade! SHOOT IT!" (Even better when one of them decides that punching it is the best way to disarm the bomb. Amusing.)

    Also: obligitory "Cottage Rule" reference.
I guess you're right - but I said "replace" instead of "add" because there are already a lot of powers in that set. Adding another would just bulk it up a lot more.

My personal selection if I had to choose one of those would most likely be Frag Barrage, with Overcharge coming in a close second.

Unstable Evolution (click): You gain a virtual level. For the next 120 seconds, all your values are calculated as if you were one combat level above your actual level. Your attack powers do more damage, your defense and resistance values are increased, etc.. (Yes, this could finally let you become level 51, even if only for two minutes.) After 120 seconds, your combat level will be REDUCED for 30 seconds and you will fight as if you were one combat level BELOW your actual level. (Recharge: very long.)

It's just like as if you temporarily gained a level (but probably without all the inspirations), so it might not be too difficult for the developers to implement this.

In order to prevent your enhancements from turning red and losing all their effectiveness, TOs, DOs and SOs would possibly also have to be boosted by one level for the power's duration.

Granted, at this time the developers probably have decided on the power for the fifth Super Booster pack, but this could also be included in another pack, as a veteran reward, or something like that.

What do you think? Would this be useful? Too weak? Too strong? What about PvP?

    This is actually really cool.

It just feels pretty dumb to me, I think a frag grenade barrage is cooler.
  20. I find Omega Maneuver to be pretty silly in concept, so here's a couple suggestions for a replacement:

Overcharge: Your Channelguns charge up and fire a tremendous, concentrated blast at a single enemy, dealing Extreme damage to that enemy and to anyone near the explosion, knocking them down and stunning them if they are not defeated outright. (Huge damage, long recharge, Targeted AoE like Explosive Blast)

Frag Barrage: You pepper an area around an enemy with Frag Grenades fired from your channelguns. Anyone who is caught in the blasts will take serious damage and possibly be knocked back by the explosions. ((Large damage, medium recharge, targeted AoE))

Cluster Grenade: You fire a Cluster Bomb at a targeted location. The bomb will explode mid-air, raining down bomblets to obliterate the enemies below. (Large DoT, long recharge, Rain of Arrows or Fire Rain-type AoE))

Channel Beam: Your Channelguns fire concentrated streams of energy over a wide area, cutting through any victims unfortunate enough to be in their way. The amount of power required to sustain a beam of fire for so long prevents you from repeating this often. (Extreme damage, medium recharge, wide cone)

Annihilation: You go all-out in a fiery swathe of destruction, firing everything you have at the enemies around you. Enemies will take damage from your Channelguns, be afflicted by your Venom Grenades, and be blown back by your Frag Grenades. However, this is extremely taxing on your Endurance and will leave you unable to recover Endurance for a while. (High damage: Smashing, Energy, Toxic, Fire, long recharge, PBAoE)

    Comments:
-You went nuts on regen bonuses, but completely forgot to effectively slot your regen powers, and your +HP in High Pain Tolerance!
-There's rule of 5 (only 5 of one bonus type). That means you can only have 5 10% regen bonuses and 5 +1.13% HP. You have 8 of each. :P
-You'll be happier 4 slotting stamina and quick recovery with performance shifter since you're way over that HP and regen bonus you're using.
-Footstomp benefits greatly from +recharge, and that's the lowest modifier you have there.
-You don't need that much accuracy. You have rage. You could have around a 42% accuracy bonus slotted in each power and be just as accurate in the game (excluding encounters with +4's with defense powers or PvP)
-For a 4 billion inf build, you could have much better results using purples and skipping the PvP IOs
I`m not really going to slot out all that, it was more just an exercise on how absolutely ridiculous you could slot out the build.
