Quote:That's fine, and I agree with that. It can be picked up on the next pass. I just want the star to pass that sentiment down to the rest of the team in the event some players have joined with the impression that the badge is a primary goal. If everyone is okay with missing the badge and wants to try again, that's fine. Just as long as the team agrees on it and there are no spoilers along for the ride.because the side badges in this trial are relatively easy to get (the vahz one is kind of annoying with more than 5 people) i usually will mention "we have to do X to get this badge" if we dont get it, oh well not like these things arent being run constantly or even hard to get in general

Before I start, if there has been a thread about this subject, please forgive this rehash.
I'm not writing this as a rant, but as a suggestion of courtesy between fellow players when running the sewer trial.
I was on two sewer trial teams this afternoon, for the purpose of getting some quick influence for my level 50 (Event Horizon Man). The first team was not a fun experience because two players started to argue about badges when the Vaz boss was not taken down first. Me, I could care less about the badges, but will help someone get those two badges if they want them. But, as I said, it was not a fun experience because for the rest of the ride those two players kept bickering.
On the second run, when all 8 were invited to a team, I suggested before we start the trial, we come to a team agreement on the badges: was this a team in it for the badges or not? We didn't come to an agreement and as a result, some people were upset because they did not get the badges.
I say again this is not a rant post, as I don't care about badges. But I know some of you out there do, and being a sub since July of 2007, I learned to be a team player. If someone feels the badges are important to them, then as a team player, they are important to me and I will help you get them. It's nothing to be ridiculed and I hate it when someone joins a team just to ruin the experience for others by denying them the badge out of spite.
So I'm throwing out two suggestions for you to discuss today that I hope will help smooth over badgefights during the sewer trials in the future.
1) The star has to let the team know, after a discussion, whether it is a for the badges run or not. And once agreed, the star is the one that has to enforce it. If someone deliberately says one thing but does another just for spite, not only should the star kick them off the team right there, that person does not gets back on that star's team on the next run. There are plenty of people out there more deserving of the next run.
2) For those of you out there who think badges are, to quote one herp-derp, "reatarted and dont mean nothing to me", the game does not revolve around you. Teaming takes co-operation, respecting the other players you team with, and listening to the team star. And there is only one star on a team. You are not the one who calls the shots: he or she does. You don't want the badges, we get that. But respect those who do, and help them, or find another team that isn't running for the badges.
That's my two cents (badges?) worth.

To add my own voice to the Incarnate trial debate, or is it a civil war? Hard to tell with the volume used by some people.
As a level 50 kin/rad and 4 year player of CoX, I tried my best with the Incarnate trials and tried to learn the system and the slots and all that. I had my keyster handed to me and my lunch money taken. I can't keep up with the breakneck pace. It's not working for me, and I'm not going to do with them again. Ever.
Having said this, I'm not going to join the mobs screaming for the Incarnates to be dumbed down or removed outright or complain they are too hard.
Incarnates are God-like powers. The stuff Lord Recluse and Statesman are made of. They are supposed to be breakneck hard and rapid-fire paced. If you cannot handle it, don't fret about not getting the powers, emotes, or costume pieces. You are not Incarnate material and that's it. Go do something else. That's what I am going to do. There's still 7 years of content a level 50 can still do and there's always the AE I wanted to learn. I love writing stories and the AE is certainly the closest thing to interactive story writing.
I'm not being harsh, but I am offering a reality check on what these incarnate trials are supposed to be and why they are that difficult.

To both my fellow players and the wonderful people at NCSoft.
I, too, would like to wish everyone a Happy 6th Anniversary.
The first hero I created on June 26th, 2007 was named Event Horizon Man. While he looked very dorky when compared to his current costume today, playing this hero has allowed me to meet many wonderful people and to experience the magic and fun of my first online multiplayer game. It has been nothing but a fun ride.
I can't wait to see what the next six years will bring. Going Rogue looks very promising and the ultra graphics mode is amazing!

Conga Rats to the winners.
While I am sad my Triboelectric Ted did not even make runner up, I'm still pleased with that toon's design. I am also happy that Power Vixen won Ms. Paragon City, as I was once in Victory Alliance under Tribby, and know for a fact she's a great toon maker as well as a fantasic player to team with

Access is restored as of this time.
And to the tech admins who worked very hard (and have always worked hard to keep the servers up to date and running great), thank you. Despite our complaining, we do appreciate your hard work

I feel your pain, I am from Toronto as well. At least I was able to do 90 minutes before the downtime. Beats staring at stinky garbage.
And of course, being Canada Day, I played Northern Shrike, who is a Canadian superhero from North Bay,

Had problem with the Champion server and am from Toronto. I was getting DB access problem for about 30 minutes then I was able to get in. I was however getting punted without warning while working on an AE arc

My own comments.
I'm a relative newcomer to the CoX universe (July 2007) and since my arrival I have been very impressed with the way this MMO has been handled. I haven't gotten any of my heroes or villians to a level 50 yet, but It's been a blast so far, and I am really looking forward to whatever changes are coming!

It is because of the great care and time taken by developers like Melissa and Vince to make CoH and CoV so fresh and multidimensional that I will never get bored from playing this game.
Well done, developers! Thanks for a peek behind the scenes of Paragon City and Rogue Isles.
