IE, your player model and costume wouldn't go away, there would just be a new set of 'Granite' armor pieces overlaid.

I haven't made any decision to do this, it's just one of the options for dealing with the multiple issues we have with Granite Armor and I wanted to get a sense of how many of you guys wouldn't be able to adapt to a change like this.

Before anyone asks, no...we couldn't have it both ways.
I'd be all for this change!
  2. Thanks MrLiberty, that's a lot like the build I was trying to put together!
  3. So what is the general opinion of Jacob's ladder? My scrapper on test took it and I haven't had a chance to put IO's in it yet but seems to me like the cone is kind of narrow.
  4. I plan on making one of those also when I16 hits and your build looks a lot like when I was planning. I'm no expert though so I can't tell if there's any flaws in what you have. I was also going to try and fit Physical Perfection into my build although I don't see how I can get it in there and keep the defenses and I'm also not sure if it's necessary.

    D4 Help!

I'm glad I found this thread on the first day I re-upped my account. I've been looking for a new character to try and a D4 sounds like fun.

Hey Fury great guide i've wanted to try this for awhile now..

noticed you've got Stamina in all the builds, but no Health..

might need to change a few things around

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can't speak for FF but I think the reason is having unsupressed movement via slotted Hurdle and Swift is better than the meager regen Health might give.

Thanks for giving us your feedback. We're still watching how Sonic Blast plays out on the Training Room server. No particular info - just wanted to give you an update.

    Thanks for the update!

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but if they were even considering altering the sound effects any I think he might have said something about it here. It'll probably come down to being too much work to alter the sounds or some other reason like that.

I know, I know, "we're happy with sound effects as they are."
  8. More customized missions please! More!

The allies that can be freed are annoying though. For one, it appears that they take a share of my experience. This isn't a huge deal but it can get annoying.

Secondly, they seem weak. While I understand that they may intentionally be weak so that they don't just mop everything up, they should at least be able to hold their own for a couple minutes (case in point, Mistress Camille in the fortune teller mission didn't seem to last 30 seconds after she got separated from me and then got ambushed by a wave of CoT which failed my mission).

Escorts can be annoyingly slow to follow. I end up turning Sprint off just so I don't have to stop so many times on the way to the door.
  9. I love this set! That said, it could use some work in the sound/animation department. I'm not sure if you can put different sounds for the powers based on the sex of the character but that will go a long way in my book. The animations aren't that bad (as in there is no obviously ugly ones) but I think they look too much like psychic powers instead of vocal type powers.

My character, Bansheera, only has up to shout so far so I can't comment on the higher end powers.
  10. All I can say is that I cannot wait to test this on the Training Room!
  11. Congrats on your promotion and good luck in the new position!

    You will be missed here!

Remember though that it's your build ... play what you like

Right, of course, but I do like making sure I'm not totally out to lunch with my thinking.

-Very soloable. BUT if you solo alot put off Haste till the 20's and get Stamina earlier. It'll help out since you can't get SO's till 22 anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would put off Hasten until later but I need it to open SS. Which, while not extremely necassary, is handy to have.

How effective would it be to comprimise a little and put off Resist Elements until later and pick up Hasten at 12 and for the level 6 slot put AS? I know the Resist Elements is helpfull against Outcasts and such at that level range but on the flipside I'll get another attack earlier which to me sounds like a decent exchange for the loss of REle early. Keeping Stamina at 22 is fine with me, since by then I'll be used to keeping some blues handy.

I want to try and stay defensively oriented for TF's and such early on yet still be able to gain exp at a decent rate if I have to solo.

Also I suggest dropping punch and getting Air superiority if you can. Its does the same damage as Punch but is a much better attack cause of the high knock up and -fly.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I agree, AS is a great attack but with his build and not taking RPD, he has to take punch at either level 2 or 4 since the only other options would be RPD or Taunt since TI and Dull Pain (and Jab) have been selected.

Personally, I wish I could drop Jab for AS and keep Punch.
  15. Thanks for the great guide Havok. I'm going to try this build out and see how I like it. Although, I'm going to take Hurdle at 16 instead of swift even though I'll eventually have Hover just because I like to jump around a lot.

One question though and that is how soloable is this build early on? I actually hate to solo but I am often forced to due to work/wife/kids so I like to do missions where I can step away suddenly if need be and not worry too much. I'm sure defensively it's solid for solo but is the damage output decent enough to keep things moving steady?

By the way, my main is a scrapper and I will always have a damage mentality but I understand that's not necassarily a tank's role so I know I'll have some adjusting to do.

    Thanks!
  16. I like this set of powers so far. Granted, I've only made it to 6th so far but I wanted to make more of an Offender build (as much as I enjoy teaming, I don't usually have a whole lot of time to do so which forces me to solo more than I wish).

I took Ball Lightning which has helped me level quite a bit but I think it's going to leave me kind of in a bind if I want to pick up some of the other usefull powers in the Dark line. Fortunately, this character is only a Training Room expirement so I'm not too concerned about mistakes yet. My thinking was taking Ball Lightning and using it with the "new" Tar Patch and Darkest Nights to kind of make a quasi AoE Offender. Not sure yet how that will work in practice later on but it's fun trying new things.

Any thoughts on an Offender type build with these powers? I want to get Hasten but avoid SS (personal preference) and maybe fit Stealth in for character concept purposes.
