Could it be that the receptionist isn't a huge nerd like everyone else at Cryptic?!

    No! I refuse to believe!

(note: by now, it should be obvious that my calling the devs & NC staff "nerds" is a gesture of affection. We're ALL nerds to some degree around here, and I wear it as a badge of honor.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I am NOT A NERD!!

How about a camera shot of the gaming rig/area from which Ex pwns people in PvP?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, if they can photoshop Sexy Jay pirate, they can photoshop Ex winning a match.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ZING!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    HAH!

Oh yeah, my husband says (from looking at that picture) that Sexy Jay has a nice body. :-S

Think there is something he might not be telling me....

And two: Why isn't it the same for desktops?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    A couple guesses?

    1) What is the ratio of desktop users to laptop users?

    2) Would be impossible to impliment at this late date? Desktop's have been around long before laptops.....and this has been going on since laptops originated?

In other words, interesting question but I'm not nearly smart enough to answer it.....but I BET it was all marketing's idea.....ALL bad ideas are marketing's ideas.
  4. huh, I did not know that 'every' rikti was supposed to give a merit...hmmm, learn something new everyday I guess.

    Sorry for the confusion.
  5. I'm sorry, I may not understand you post correctly, but reported what? The fact that rewards, such as merits, being awarded at random (meaning some people get more, some get less) is working as intended (correctly in this situation)?

Maybe I'm not understanding you post....sorry.
  6. Honestly? I have to say I like all those effects better then the "correct" ones, lol. I truely due...then again, I also liked the Funkadelic colors that used to plague Bases as a bug.

Next Cryptic offering (after MUO) should be 'City Of Disco'
  7. But that's for city spawns, not missions, Zombie. This may be a side effect of that code and probvably not a bug a really, but it doesn't seem right....

    I dojn't know. NVM.
    <-----bored at lunch.
  8. You can't click on the icon and manually get rid of it? That is strange.

(Obviously, it would still be a bug, but if it's bothering her, well, anyway to get rid of it is a good thing I would think)

((OH, and Happy, while testing the '5minute dispersion bubble go bye bye' deal someone else mentioned, I DID notice a slight drop in FPS with it on, but it was only like 3~4fps))
  9. Only a few problems with NVidia still though.

    1) Some (FatherXmas in particular) still experience the task switching issues that plague the ATI's, although not as badly (I could not reproduce this but if Father says it, I believe it).

    2) Still some texture issues. In Grandville they are REALLY obvious, many walls turn to a deep, textureless black. Also, the testure issue extends to the PDP Signs above the police stations (only certain ones, Perigrine has a black badge on the sign and so does Kings Row, while Talos does not....other I don't remember)

    3) Odd little issue that won't let CoX see that the most current (1**.**) drivers are indeed the most current.

    4) The Vista cursor dealie. (don't remember if that was universal...and as of last look, it may have been fixed...think Moired was talking about it....ug, darn my bad memory....the ones in my head that is )

    5) Other Vista issues like things in Black and White (again, not sure if that was universal)

    I think that's it.

    Just wanted to mention.
  10. Just poppin in to say I'm really diggin' the paper everyone. Quite nice!

...now if there was only a way to involve the Tech Forums.....Tech Forum Tip of the Week? .

Soooo...it can't be slotted in Health (resist: sleep)?

I'd like it confirmed that it will work with Dull Pain, Instant Healing and Fast Healing.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As I stated previously in this thread, if the power does not allow damage resistance enhancements, then it is affected by heal buffs (such as Doctored Wounds' +4% Heal) and debuffs as normal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks Iakona, that finally pushed it through my head. The "if the power does not allow damage resistance enhancements" part finally made it stick.

I'll get these IO thingies someday, I swear, even if I have to take a couple night courses at the University.

Honestly, I burst out laughing when I heard about it. Makes perfect sense in the 'how' it works. Brilliant thinking, guys.

Is it what we intended the power to be used for? Not even close...but it's a great idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, like teleporting your auto-turret or acid mortar around.

That's interesting to me, Arcanaville. I enjoy the fights I get and the feeling I get from defeating EBs without the use of any inspirations or temp powers.

That's not even a possibility with AVs. With ANY build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm still working on a long term feasibility experiment I don't want to discuss a lot yet, but lets just say that I have a build that is soloing things you wouldn't believe without video proof: no temp powers, no inspirations, no nothing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like a regen Scrapper to me, lol.....please don't get me nerfed again.
  14. You were the one who put all the guides together so I'm sure that bumping your own helpful (mini-guide) post won't get you banned...now if only people would start looking at it.

Don't be dissin' on Toontown. I found it to be kind of fun when I tried it out.

I like it quite a bit and my daughter loves it, BUT it gets repetitive quickly.
  16. Name: Mid Life Crisis

Motto: If You Ain't One Of us You Ain't Nobody! (I know it's slightly elitest and doesn't really fit my friendly nature, should change it soon).

    Leader(s): Mid-Degree and Phantasmic Aura

Player Type: Casual and a little crazy.

RolePlay?: I like to lead people on and make up stuff. That's not really role playing I guess, but it sure is fun.

Membership levels: 1-50. All ranges. Newb to rookie, they are all welcome. Really though, we've got some great players and some really bad ones, but we're working with the bad ones, and hopefully they'll be up to par by 2009.

SuperGroup Colours: Purple and a kinda dark yellow.

Normal time of Gameplay: Whenever we get time, not very structured. We wanna play, we play.

Other information: We only require one thing of our members, they all must like peanut M&M's. It's true.

    Recruiting?: Nah.

Website: Maybe I'll set up a MySpace page for it someday, maybe when I run out of other projects.
