  5. Yeah, I was wondering because it won't affect powers with resistance components like sonic or thermal shields and cold shields (even thought cold shields have a +def component.) So I thought "does that apply to -res as well?"

Looks like PB + screech is still a go! Yays!

Thanks for putting my fears to rest
  6. Hi All,

    Question for you.

I recently put two and two together and arrived at the conclusion that power boost will not affect the stun duration of screech because the power also has a -res component to it.

    Is this correct?

I am thinking "yes" but just want confirmation from someone with better game mechanics knowledge than I have

Personally, I've got Neutrino Bolt slotted with 4 procs on my Rad/Therm and once you get a target into Scourge range those procs really add up. I'm not going to debate whether Sonic is better, but I really do like the Rad.
I hear you Mac. My main bone of contention is with Divine's statement about sonic's long root times when it only applies to the one attack. The same can be said of all of the hard hitting tier three attacks.

As far as Neutrino bolt goes, when I make my next Corr I'll be slotting just like I do on my PB (aka gleaming bolt) with 2 nucleolus and 4 damage procs (not a fan of the achille's heel proc.) The bottom line for me is the massive hits that can done thanks to the -res in sonic attacks which is great for all kinds of scenarios.
  8. Divine, you harp on Sonic's "long" root times when they are no worse than the vast majority of corr sets out there.

All of the corr blast tier ones are 1 sec cast time, with only gloom, fire blast and ice blast floating around 1 sec cast time. Every other tier two blast is 1.67 sec cast time. The only long'ish cast in sonic is Shout and that comes in at 2.67 (Long yeah) but not much longer than Rad's Cosmic Burst at 2.07.

Of the sonic corrs I know, most don't use shout very much since you can cycle through the tier 1 and tier 2 all day anyway. Sonic beats Rad hands down imo in all settings.

That's only part of the problem.

A big part of why you don't see them listed is people know they can get more than 2 billion for them so they "/broadcast " forum post or channel auction the IO and sell it that way.

Which is precisely why sales capping won't work. All it will do is lead to manual auctions popping up in various channels. That's originally how trading used to be done back in the early days of EverQuest and other MMOs.
  10. I've got to agree with Ra on this one. Freedom is the PVP server and while there may be alot of transfers, it will be for PVP purposes.

Justice can't be beat for the PVE side of the game. It has long had a rep for great Hami raids and regular TF/special event get togethers. It'll stay that way, if not increase in the number of people particpating.

What was left of the Justice PVP crowd has gone "bye bye" in a big way to Freedom imo.

Its interesting because I am paying 14 cents per kwh where I live, and I keep getting emails offering me oodles of inf at 1.7 cents/ million inf. so 8 kwh * 14cents = $1.12 + wear and tear on computer vs 68 millon or so inf for that and no wear and tear. Not to endorse the RMT people but its curious to see these schemes that have worse economic returns than unskilled labor in third world countries.

That drop rate is way off. I am averaging about 1 in 60-70 kills. I get kills once every five minutes (appx.) It's definetly not 1/200. I don't know where people are getting the 1/100 or 1/200 numbers because I am not getting that based on my farming experience. That's the same ratio I was getting before the drop rate was tied to the rep-timer.

Lol about the RMT VS Elec Bills though
  12. Sounds about right to me Eps.

In alot of posts here peeps have been saying 1/100 or 1/200 and I have always found that to be too high. Before the change to drops being tied to rep-timer I was getting about 1 drop in every 60-70 kills (arena farming) and your new numbers support that drop rate. Showing me the drop rate has not been nerfed.

Also, based on my current PVP IO farming I appear to be averaging about 1 PVP IO per 5 or 6 hours of farming. That works out to appx 12 kills/hour for 60-72 kills which supports your numbers as well (at least for drop rate not time investment.)

As far as I am concerned the drop rate has not been altered. It only it "appears" to be 1/100 or 1/200 because of being tied to the rep-timer and people are incorrectly counting non-rep kills.

    Thanks for the effort

Its tedious but you don't need any specific build, no influence, no IO's, no risk involved just two separate characters logged in at the same time.
PVP IO farming is the closest thing to marketeering as far I am concerned. That is, if you have two accounts. If you've got two accounts then take your two toons to a PVP zone and find a secluded spot (WB is great, preferably on a slower server.) One character should have pets or damage auras and the other character should have a rez power (one that doesn't knock back like Rise of the Phoenix.) Get each toon an AE or Ouro mission or task force so they won't autolog out.

You slot the rez power with three recharge IOs and set it to auto. If the other character uses something like Fire Imps, dismiss one or two of the imps otherwise they kill too fast and the rezzer's rez doesn't recharge fast enough and he'll end up auto-respawning in the hospital. Park the toons beside each other and go to sleep, work, vacation, whatever. When you get back, sell your PVP IOs you spent the past 8, 10, 12 hours collecting. Occasionally one of your accouts might get disconnected but it doesn't happen often.

I consider it the same as marketeering because you make your profit while not actively playing the game. That seems to be how PVP IO farming is done now.

I don't use swift, but for hurdle I put in two jump IOs. CJ gets a mix of things depending on the toon, but usually a KB IO or two (karma, zephyr) a LoTG 7.5% rech, and or a Kismet +Acc.
  19. The first one reminds me of some kind of effeminate (sp?) bull-type guy. So how about "Klee Taurus" for the first one.

The second one is green so I think his name should be "Kermit Muffdiver"

    I hope that helps!

-no one honors my challenge to fight under the globe in RV. When I show up and start to tell them the rules, I get stunned/held/AS'd and killed before the fight can start. Repeatedly.
-even melee toons have phase. weak.
-if you like to fly, people will target you with web grenades and then gang you like 5:1 when you fall.
-when I got a kill and got a pvp recipe, they told me it was worth 200K so I sold it to a blaster for 3 mil. I found out later it was worth 800 mil. liars.
    -the lag is horrible
-all of the players have fake names that are not in line with their origins and powersets. Like natural origin broadsword scrapers with names like 'ur a nub haha' instead of 'Leonidas'.
-if you ask a question in broadcast people will give you wrong answers and trick you into getting killed repeatedly. IT IS NOT FUN.

I will be transferring back as soon as possible. Hopefully all of these 'leet pvpers' will not follow.
    Hahaha Gers, I lol'd!

Tiger Paw is practically the second coming of the Prophet! His words are beyond criticism. In fact, they are beyond understanding...

Quality of players aside, Freedom just has more of everything. I made the move because it's nice to have options. When the zone/arena is empty you're only option is to wait. Which is kind of boring.

Asking players to move to Justice is admirable but ill-advised because the PVP population was already low before free transfers and now it's even lower.

I'd highly recommend against transferring to Justice if you have dreams of full zones and crazy 8v8s, 1v1s any time you want, or any other PVP type of event. If that's what you want you'll need to head to Freedom.

I have moved one or two back and forth in the past. Now with the free transfers I've moved all of my PVP toons and a couple farmers over to support them. I left a few PVE toons on Justice for the occasional "Hello!"

After a three month hiatus I came back to practically empty zones with the occasional fight club. Freedom just has more of everything so it was time for a complete move.

Rather than fragment the PVP community even more I'd recommend all other PVPers move to Freedom as well because I suspect most other servers (save Virtue) will be suffering a decline in PVP population in the coming weeks. So it might as well be on one or two servers to keep up the level of play instead of spread out.

A large chunk of the PVPers on Justice have been slowly migrating to Freedom and with the free server transfers you'll see even more making the migration. Justice PVP is going to suffer a decline in its PVP population imo. Just a heads up.
