Quote:So you're saying Voodoo hacked into your ISP to keep you out of the game last night? My ISP was partly to blame too and, actually, almost had a heart attack when I called them and they admitted the problem was NOT on my end... so hopefully that means something will get fixed.
Diabolical! -
I never realized Lion King was a Hamlet ripoff before...

Well, the German Shepard pet is on sale, but... NO! The vanity/vet pet nerf puts an end to these purchases for me.
If I could have a Shepard, Lion, Liger, Leprechaun, Veteran Pet, and whatever else they come up with at once, now that would be cool!
As it is: NO SALE.
That Panther Stealth power sounds interesting, however... -
Unless they give us a proper Liger:
Also: Tigons. -
This is what a Liger looks like:
I am dissapoint. -

This is the first I'm hearing of a new Defense Set... don't make me have to check the Beta boards! What is it?

Didn't see a thread for this so I made one.
What did people think of the premiere?
I thought it did an admirable job of setting things up while introducing the necessary new characters. Dinklage is still the most enjoyable part of the show as Tyrion. -
The leveling rate seems normal to me. It only takes about two sessions to get to 20 these days.

BTW, I read up on it and I'm definitely buying that Team Transport power... I hope they don't go too crazy with the price.

Quote:Not letting Peeta in on the manipulation changes a lot of things. He was into it, for obvious reasons. Actually, keeping Peeta in the dark causes a lot of problems later on too... he stays getting lied to!I personally am glad they didn't do that. I hate it when a movie treats its audience as being stupid. They already alluded to what Katniss was up to in the scenes shortly before, there was really no need to hammer it home.
Also, the book is told from Katniss' point of view, so we know everything about how she feels about Peeta and Gale. The movie is maybe a little too subtle on this point. -
Quote:I'm glad that people who didn't read the book can see that it was a ruse, but the point is hammered home more in the novel. My guess, by not doing so made the awkwardness of the last scene with Katniss looking at Gale more apparent. They really didn't have to spell it out to the audience, I've never read the book and even I caught that it was just a tactical manuever by Katniss.
Katniss isn't interested in *any* relationship at the outset. Her first and only priority is caring for her family (mostly Prim), and she doesn't want to bring children into the messed up world of Panem.
Her feelings for Peeta are complicated because he was the one who gave her hope when she was about to give up, but he's not a romantic interest.
Gale is the best friend Katniss has, but she definitely doesn't see him as a potential love interest either.
I just hope that they don't make Peeta's anger in the second film about Katniss making goo goo eyes at Gale instead of the fact that she played him like a fiddle in the arena. -
Really curious why that decision was made. I think it may have to do with the fact that they don't want the first movie to end on a down note (the second one certainly will!). In any event, Katniss telling Peeta it was an act is crucial to the opening on Catching Fire. I assume they will tack that scene on to the beginning of the next film, right before Snow shows up.

I'm not sure how I feel about the arc as a whole, but I really liked the last arc. It felt epic in a way that I don't think we see often in this game.
-
Sure, but they already have a release date for Catching Fire (November 2013). If this movie bombed, then Lionsgate would be in huge trouble... if it succeeded at all, they were going to film the whole trilogy.

Pretty sure the principal actors are signed to a 4 picture deal for this. Following recent book adaptations, they'll probably split Mockingjay into two films.

I wouldn't say anti Big Government as much as anti Corrupt Government. The citizens of the Districts are little more than slaves to the Capitol.
It's definitely anti-media.
