Quote:Ah, but don't forget that "Mender Ramiel" is an anagram for "Lame Reminder"! *dramatic music*Quite the opposite. Prometheus currently advises us to fight the Praetorians, and claims that there's no point in even discussing the Coming Storm until Cole is dealt with.
Quote:
* So, Mender Ramiel mentioned The Coming Storm...
Did he now? Well, in all fairness to Mender Ramiel, he should be focusing on getting you prepared for the challenges you face right now. Whether we will face The Coming Storm or not is as yet unwritten. The need to face Tyrant is already upon us, and that is where my current focus lies.
Well, and also "Relaid Mermen." Hey, folks figure that Mender Silos's name was also important, so there you go. -
My son got the game back in i3. He is on indefinite hiatus and I am still cruising on. Not interested in any of the other MMOs out there, including the "other" superhero ones. I have an amazing group of amazing-looking heroes with a wide variety of playstyles. Game, set, match.
A note of amazing Irony to me: If you try to play some iconic DC or Marvel superhero in CoH, you will get "generiched," since you are using intellectual property of DC or Marvel. The notion is: If you want to use one of their iconic heroes, then play THEIR MMO. Except that apparently with DC's MMO, you are basically rolling up your own made-up helper superhero... you STILL do not get to play the iconic DC heroes. It is to chuckle. -
Quote:*cue the argument from 784,791 prior threads*Considering the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil[, do no evil]" proverb has origins in the Warring States period of China (475-221 BC), if not earlier, I'm pretty sure there's no copyright on it. Even the depiction of the monkeys Mizaru, Kikazaru, Iwazaru, and Shizaru comes from at least 17th century Japan.
But the Chinese and Japanese TRADEMARKED them!
3 generics coming right up!

Quote:Like being dead has EVER prevented a comic book character from suddenly appearing at precisely the Most Dramatic Moment (usually the last panel of that month's issue.)(And on Praetorian Earth, Dr. Sora Tavarisch is missing, presumed dead, having remained behind in Moscow to hold back the forces of the Hamidon while making sure the civilians got out.)
-
Quote:Which would actually be a FAR more interesting take on it than this *nudge-nudge* *wink-wink* business, and a lot more profound. So in some respects, had the Numitron thing started BEFORE Issue 10/11/whenever he got his body back, I might have bought into it more readily because theirs could have been a more, for want of a better/less punny term, spiritual relationship. It may never be consummated in the traditional fashion, but they'd understand each other in a way that the rest of the world (save other ghosts) could.
And just the general description of your opus sounds far more insightful into the dramatic possibilities raised by Positron's troubles. Indeed, the issues with "closeness" posed by your protagonists sounds very, very interesting, especially by comparison.
Quote:But theirs is canon, mine is fan fiction. Unless Tava ever manages to become either an Ascended Extra or Canon Immigrant... -
Quote:I think "going on patrol" will eventually become similar to "serving in all capacities" as a useful code phrase for a T rated gameQuote:*grins*
Sounds like the running joke b/w Pos and Sora in my story about 'scientific investigation'.
Michelle

Samuraiko/Dark_Respite) than I do with the sniggering about *nudge-nudge* *wink-wink* action between the two of them. Why are the devs even mentioning it, especially when it does not even seem possible?
Michelle, writing fan fiction, certainly has license to extrapolate upon the relationship she posits, and that is fine. And it had the advantage of being physically possible, to boot.
Since I have not read her work, however, I suppose that some part of it might take place while Posi was sealed inside his armor, but that problem at least has precedent for a solution. I refer to Peter and Gordon's song, "Knight in Rusty Armor":
As he bent to kiss his bride
He found out he had rusted up inside
Of his battle dress
And I can't guess
How they still got married and had twins
(They came in tins!)
Every suit of armor ever made
Has a kink
Chain mail pants
With a missing link!

Quote:He even made the joke about Whoopi Goldberg?NO!
NO NO NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONONONONONONO.
UGH, I hate that song. I hated it BEFORE that movie came out (and I worked in a movie theatre when it did come out, and heard it umpteen times a night). NO!
And besides, Matt already made that joke at the Dev M&G in Pocket D the other night.

Dang, my Wicked Clever has morphed into Late To The Party. Oh well, as they say, dying is easy--comedy is tough. -
Quote:Use "Unchained Melody," Michelle. 'Course, you'll have to have Whoopi Goldberg in there, too, since Numina is dead and has no body, but Whoopi is quite experienced in helping out in these matters. If I could find an appropriate song, I might consider doing a music video for it... even if the idea of lending credibility to this whole Numitron thing just makes me wince.

I am learning that ghosts have TONS of abilities one would not have thought they have!
Again I say: "Blecch!"
*sings* "... I should really just relax"
Okay, I am just going to go put some baddies in jail. Sheesh. -
Quote:Well, aside from being dead, that parrot in the Python skit was a great pet.by the same token, he could relate to War Witch and even Ghost Widow - all three women (aside from being dead) are trapped in their astral/ghost form.
I would agree that he could "relate to" them in the sense of "understand what it is like to be in their situation." Instead, it appears that our Esteemed Author(s) mean "going on patrol together," which is about as discreetly as it can be put, to which I discreetly say, "Blecccch!"
Time to sing the MST3000 song and just relax. Geez Louise. -

Quote:Due to difficulties encountered during the testing process we are postponing the launch of Global Server Access. At this time we do not have an ETA for launch. We will keep everyone notified of any updates as they develop.
Thanks and our apologies for the delay.

Quote:That is certainly taking being an Incarnate of that legendary horn-dog Zeus pretty seriously.Maybe we'll find out that Statesman is secretly dating all of the available young women in the Vindicators when the next new task force requires rescuing Swan, Mynx, Luminary, Aurora, and Valkyrie from their Praetorian admirers.

Not to mention being bloody incorporal.
Hey, they are not my characters, but given the ham-handed way (complete with leaden writing) that the Manticore/Sister Psyche romance was handled, I cannot say that I am enthused about the new reveal. I expect to wince yet again as the story unfolds.
As is typically the case, D_R's stuff will likely wind up smoking this, too. -
Quote:But there is NO substance to Numina! So how could they hook-up??There's already been some speculation that Positron and Numina were hooking-up. It would seem there's some substance to those speculations.
Or is that a question I really do not want to have answered?? -
Quote:It's good to know that if Steelclaw is otherwise occupied saving the world, another hero will come to our assistance! Also valid:
"Tyrant! We would have words with thee!"
"We're selling these fine leather jackets."
"Open up or we'll huff, and we'll puff, and we'll blow the tower down!"
"Hey, just between us, Cole, what ARE you compensating for with that tower?"
"Spiderling scout cookies!"
"No seriously, you have a gigantic tower and a statue of yourself outside the door. That just screams 'insecure'."
"Dibs on the helmet!" -

Quote:This sort of thing happens all the time to Bugs Bunny, and for the same reason.Talk about weird game experiences. So I decide to do a BAF incarnate trial today, and this time I select the join one in progress option, and the weirdest thing happens. So instead of showing up at the usual spot and being to greeted by Mother Mayhem's usual intro. I find myself in the middle of a lvl 30 mayhem mission. To make it better, turns out that it was someone's active mayhem mission, felt so awkward. So did anyone else experience anything like this?

Quote:Certainly a catchy tune, there. Certainly better dancing than the Conchords can manage, too.

Quote:The Theme Song for this group: "The Humans Are Dead" by Flight of the Conchords.I began to wonder if we have any Evil AI robots in the game, and by evil robot I mean they are composed of metal, circuitry, various alloys and polymers, has the goal to eliminate all organic life on the planet and builld a robot nirvana in its place, and has no organic, i.e brain, heart, blood, lungs, and what have you, components at all.
..."Must Destroy Humans!". So I'm just wondering if there is anyone in CoH lore that fits this character design.
EDIT: Dagnabit, there is one NSFW word that they sneak in there, so watch it. It is unfortunate; the song is hilarious without it. -
Yellow Dawn?!? You whippersnappers don't know a THING about Yellow Dawn!
THIS was a Yellow Dawn, sonny!
Now you kids get off my lawn!

Looking at my dozen lvl 50 types, my strongest team probably looks like this:
Ice/FF Controller
Elec/Fire Blaster
Ill/Rad Controller
Ice/Ice Blaster
Earth/Storm Controller
Plant/Storm Controller
Elec/Elec Blaster
TA/Arch Defender
Plenty of Buffs, Debuffs, Pets, Controls and Nukes. Phantom Army and Rocky to Tank when I need it and bubbles for everyone.
It would certainly be cool if they could all team together and play. It would certainly be a great comic book. -
Not to worry! The Devs have announced XP GREEN will be distributed to us! They say there is a nearly unlimited supply of the stuff--we're saved!
They also said to ignore both the man behind the curtain and that dude Heston, who is spouting nonsense. -
Quote:Longshanks: Arrows are expensive. Send in the Irish.I would have preferred double XP, but given our current XP austerity measures, it's understandable they would dump their excess zombies on us instead. Zombies are cheap. XP is expensive.
That sort of stuff happens all the time.
