Quote:I agree with you. Totally.No.
I don't PL and I don't farm AE missions. But, if you take away the XP in AE, I'd use it even less than I do now.
When I use AE, I play arcs for the stories. I look for arcs by people I know. I look for arcs that I have heard good things about. If they took away the XP, I simply wouldn't bother.
Am I being perfectly clear? I play AE for the stories and if the arcs gave zero XP, I would not be playing them. Maybe I'm weird, but I like to feel that I'm making some kind of progress while playing. It can be XP, prestige, merits, but I need something.

And bingo.
After a ton of dead ends, after I posted this question, I went and tried one last time to find the answer on my own and I found it!!!
I found a post written by Adeon Hawkwood 11/14/2009
Thank you Adeon, Cheers!

Hello all.
I have a very noob question. I have a set of Gaussians that are about level 35..can't recall exactly as I bought them long ago.
If I slot them in Focused Accuracy, a level 40 power, do the bonuses take effect when the power becomes active, or at level 35 when the bonuses become active, which would make it sweet for doing the story arcs which I missed.
I know the answer is someplace, I remember reading about it, but for the life of me I cannot seem to get the correct key words to find that info on my own.
If someone could answer, I would be so very grateful.

Quote:Umbral, thank you. I can't believe I said FA and PET Gaze....actually I can...I just got home from the Eye Doctor. I have an eye infection, and my thinking is a tad loopy. How about Maneuvers, FA, Phys Perf?
Firstly, you can't get Pet Gaze and FA at the same time.
Laser Beam Eyes is yet another power that I, honestly, wouldn't take. Ever. It's an attack that will actually lower your DPS, even in the best of situations. The only time it's really useful is when you're trying to take down a runner and you've already got MG's immob for preventing that (or, if you don't mind it, just running after the guy and punching him like most do).
.
Physical Perfection, I never considered that for a Regen. But yes, yes, now that I ponder it a bit, I can see how it would help with FA.
However, I did not take a travel power as I find Ninja Run is fast enough. Perfect Perfection or Siper Jump...hmm...
Well I can try PP, and if I hate it I can respec out of it
And I sort of figured Laser Beam eyes is a dog of a power, but, I do get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It makes a good puller, and when a critter is almost dead and runs, Laser Beam eyes will take him down--even when he is up in a tree, or flying....and the power looks cool
Thanks so very much

Hello everyone.
In anticipation of making my 50s stronger in Going Rogue, I am fiddling around with the builds on my small band of 50s.
After the "MUST HAVE" powers are settled on my Dark Regen, I am left with three power choices. As far as playstyle goes, I do a lot of soloing and playing in small groups
I am seriously thinking of Maneuvers because, while it is not a lot of Defense, it adds more than I have, and will stack with Combat Jump, the Steadfast unique, Weave, and the defense bonuses I have. While I know I cannot Softcap, this will certainly give purple inspirations more bang for the buck.
I also love Focused Accuracy. I have it on my Dark/SR and I feel it is the reason she can hit level 54 Carnies without a problem.
Pet. Gaze from the Dark Mastery is good for locking down Sappers..but so is Touch Of Fear which I did not take as I thought I would go with one of the Epics, Fire or Dark, and a hold is in all of them.
My Dark/SR also has Laser Beam eyes, and I absolutely love that power. Not sure how truly useful it is, but I use it constantly.
So, my question is which three should I take on my Dark/Regen, who is IOed out.
Maneuvers, FA, Pet Gaze????
Maneuvers, FA, Touch Of Fear?
Maneuvers, FA, Laser Beam Eyes?
Oh, and one more question. A long time ago, when Numina's were relatively inexpensive, I bought some and put two of the set in every power that would take them in the Regen secondary. Should I keep them in, or take them out and dole them out to other toons who might need the Regen bonus you get for two pieces of a Numina?
Lisa-Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say because I am truly indecisive and it is driving me nuts -
Hi Shillelagh
I think the store you are looking for is called Freedom Corps. On the ingame map it is called just "Store." I know there is one in both Talos and Skyway...not sure about other zones.
If you take the base Transporter to Skyway City, it drops you off right in front of one.
Hope I helped a bit.

This is why I strive to get a contact near a hospital.
I hate being defeated, and when I am, I usually glare at the screen and tell who ever defeated me that I will be back at full strength, with backup (inspirations), and will be fueled with the need for revenge.

[QUOTE=Eva Destruction;2969747]Just because you can't stop someone from spraying graffiti doesn't mean you should hand out free spray paint.
You do that because you know what you are doing. You are sharing the how-to of farm arc creation with people who obviously don't know what they are doing, and are too lazy to learn, otherwise they wouldn't have to PM you. Do you honestly think someone who can't figure out the basics of AE will unpublish their crappy farm when they're done?
QUOTE]
Lisa reads this with a serious look on her face. I can see your point Eva. To circumvent this potential problem, can you point me, and the ticket hungry people reading this, to one of your arcs that does give good tickets???
I mean think about it. If, as you say, these people are lazy, then having a mission to go to will prevent these hundreds of "Crappy" farms from being created, as, faced between making an arc, and having an arc handed to them, the lazy people will chose the one already made.
Just an idea.

Quote:Lisa stares at this bit of info, her eyes get wide, and she rushes to log into the game and brings up her SG Roster. She quickly types in this command and there it is!!!! The Global Name of the SG member who got the red star away from my better half. He swears he logged in his leader toon before the demotion time, but obviously notTry sending a global tell to the other person. If they are still subbed you might get a reply.
/getglobalname The Devil's Mark
And welcome to Justice!
This star stealin' toon is never on the same time we are, but I have exchanged with her once, and she was pretty nice, so I hope knowing her global will help with getting the red star back to Mark.
And, being able to get the global names of SG members will greatly aid in communication...sigh a couple of members have been with the group since 07 and have not been ranked. I can fix that...and tell them to take what they like out of storage..I play everyday and generate tons of salvage and SOs which I don't use.
And I can invite their alts....
PumBumbler, I salute you.

I was dragged into City Of Heroes kicking and screaming.
My better half bought the game and noticed that I had gotten into the habit of peering over his shoulder while he played. Everytime he asked me if I wanted to play, I would look at all the violence and shudder. "No thanks" said I.
Well, he felt in his bones that I would really enjoy the game so he went out and bought a copy for me, installed it on my computer, and paid for a year's subscription.
To my fiendish glee, when he fired the game up he noticed my Video card was not up to snuff...when I chose my computer gaming was not on my short list
I was whipping out my checkbook, all set to write him a check for all the moneys he spent, when he whipped out his car keys and off we went to Best Buy.
When we got there, Mark told the employee what he wanted the card for, and asked him which card/power supply combo he would recommend to his mom if she were to take to playing City Of Heroes.
Sooo...with all the money he spent, I felt I had to play....besides it would be something we could do together
My last vet reward was the Boxing outfit, so that tells you how long ago that was
And hmmmm...all of you guys who wish your wives would start playing City Of Heroes...it has a lot of pluses, but there are cons.
If she plays as avidly as you, you will find the house is not squeaky clean, Laundry piles up, you will find yourself eating more frozen dinners or take out especially on double XP weekends and when a new issue starts. Some nights she will poke you awake to tell you about a simply wonderful idea for a new toon she thought of....
Your cats will start meowing at you to pet them because they no longer get all the attention they once did....and when a cat wants attention...Oy Vay
Lisa-Smiling at the memories -
Thanks....I will try that. Sorry I posted my problem here...I did not know they had a forum. The older program worked so beautifully in the past that I never went to the site.
Sorry...

Can't write: C:\Program Files\Titan Network\Mids Hero Designer\Hero Designer.exe
Hello all.
Whenever I try to download the updated copy of Mids, from the Titan Network, onto my PC, which has Vista as the OS, I get the above error message.
I have had no problems with downloading the older versions in the past, so I am quite puzzled.
Anyone have any ideas as what to try?
Thanks so much in advance.

Quote:Grin. Fire/Elec is a bad combo for a Brute and thus might be bad for a scrap...might want to try one of those. This falls right into a question I was going to ask but didn't want to start a thread.
That is the weakest, or least synergetic, scrapper combo? Really taxing and horrid?
Cause I'm gonna make one, and rock it.

My better half and I both pre-purchased the evening it was announced....I had a stress filled day at work and felt like I very badly needed a treat. Instead of instantly buying it, I called him at work, and told him all the pros and cons of pre-ordering with the result he had me fire up his computer and pre-purchase for him too.
The decision was done calmly, and with everything considered...or so we thought at the time
And now, I find these special enhancements.
I do not zoom to level 20 like all you do, and in Pretoria I will be starting from scratch with no sugar mommy older toons to help with influence, so I might be a good candidate for these special enhancements...and a box with the game discs is always handy...
Hmmm, so nobody knows yet if the codes for this GameStop Special Promotion will play nice with the pre-purchased edition?
Oh, and will they drop like vet rewards do on every new toon you make???
Lisa-Wondering if my furry kids (My cats) might buy this for me as a birthday present -
Quote:And think of us who want to try to time Going Rogue with their work vacations. I still have two weeks paid vacation to burn, and I would love to use some of it exploring the new content and powersets.I'm not asking for an exact date... but, could we know a month? The Devs put out "July" and it that's changed, fine, say so. Info being available from NCSoft websites and their retailers that varies from July, to Summer, to September (which is Fall I don't care which calender you're using) leads to speculation and confusion.
Please Ocho (et al), think of the children and throw us a bone here.

Quote:Grin. I remember the very first time I tried to find the building to pay rent for the Villain SG I play in.
I find the necessity to pay it in person at City Hall or that dumb building I can never find in CoV much more aggravating than the amount.
I finally had to ask in Broadcast, and I still had problems finding it
Then I found out that the Base Teleporter drops you off right in front of it
Fun memories
Lisa -
Quote:I agree with this. In the SGs I belong to, one toon can earn the month's rent in a couple hours of play...depending on what I am fighting of course.I like you. You post stuff that's so stupid-crazy that it's funny.
Once upon a time, my SG rent was over 240,000 prestige. Now it's 2900. And you're saying that's expensive.
It for sures was not always that way.
Lisa-Does not miss the good ole' days in this respect. -
Hello Tal
I remember reading your posts with much interest.
Glad you back
Lisa -
I just rolled two Blasters which I am having a lot of fun with.
Sonic/Ice and Psi/Mental.
Too early for me to tell how they will do later game, but so far I am happy with them.
I do have two Blasters which are almost 30, got there solo, and they are doing great.
Fire/Ice and Archery/Mental
I am a scrapper person who is still learning the Tao of the blaster...so if I am having fun with them, I am sure you will too.
Lisa-who just realized that I used the same secondaries for my new Blasters, as I did with my seasoned Blasters...hmmm -
Quote:Hella yes, I am complaining, and at the top of my virtual lungs.
I'm always amazed when yet another person who hates being buffed by friendly, helpful people in a multiplayer game crawls out to post this thread. Is there no end to you? People will complain about anything at all, it seems.
Emberly, some of us are true clutzes. I don't mind speed boost when I am going in a straight line in an open field or body of water....but in a mission, and in the cities, I bounce off of walls..every wall. If there is a wall, I will bounce off of it.
Giving me speed boost is not good.
So tell me....how is it friendly, kind, and helpful to give such as me Speed Boost????
Hmm...Speed Boost is my only sore, sore, spot...I can handle, or work around, all Mystic Fortunes except the speed boosting one. That one I declare a Jihad upon.
Having said my peace, I will leave
Lisa-Would adore the option of turning off buffs..Speed Boost I am looking at you.
