Quote:I am a ..I forgot how many month Vet I am but I just got the Vet reward which allows you to have both Ghost Axe and Sands of Mu....Think I will be in 7th tier when Freedom goes live. I have soloed almost every mission in this gameWhat i do not understand is the game is SO vast. Yes I'll admit there are some arcs that I play far too many times, and some we have too for required powers. BUt there is also so many more that people tend to never really look at at all. So why not work on some lowbes the way the game is DESIGNED to be enjoyed? By playing the content and not being powerleveled all the way to 50 and skipping everything in between. I know I know its a waste of time? I hear that ALL THE TIME. But what else is a GAME for I ask you? really. Its a game. Play it. There are poepl in this game that I care about dearly, but honestly its SO frustrating when i can not get a lowbe team together Even when no one is doing ANYTHING to speak of. We all say were bored and want to do something but at times cant decide what, so why not go for some content we have NOT played in a long time. I'm not just talking about TFs, I mean even regular mission arcs and even paper missions. I am happy to say I go do that on high settings rather then being in AE farming the same missions over and over just adding to boredom, and the reward for that is halfway decent drops on occasion. I been pulling respec recipes, Purples, and rare Luck of gamblers and Miracles just doing missions with lev 30-45s. If anything of late the lowbes are funding my 50s build development rather then the other way around. I honestly believe the reason this is happening is because people have seemed to abandon the normal method of leveling in favor of skipping all this content.
OK Rant over. Sorry, just wanted to say it. This is a very massive game. Its a shame to see people only playing maybe 20% of it.
I don't think I was looking for a powerlevel, as much as I was commenting on the fact that I never see Powerleveling offers in Broadcast on Victory, when they are thick as cheese on Freedom..."Powerlevel meeee" I commented on this in response to a Post where someone said the AE is faster than Double Weekend. The toon I was interested in getting levels on is one of my two current Doms....a Electric/Ice who is as weak as my other Dom is mighty..a Electric/Psi. This little Electric/Ice is having great problems doing normal content much less farming in the AE
But, she is excellent at holding and stopping the enemy in their tracks. My Elec/Psi can both hold and Kill though -
Quote:Grin...I bet the AE building started giving out Double Xp and the Fire Farm folks went from 1-50 solo in 10 minutesI'm curious what the issue that came up actually is. Suppose I'll
have to wait for the patch information to see what the problem's
implied to be.
I'm a little suspicious given the tone communication around here has
been taking, has made me less interested in taking things like this at
face value without technical backup explaining it, but I suppose some
of the freedom backend changes being wormed in might've borked it
or something.
Wait and see I guess. My sympathy to those of you who got screwed
out though.

Hello All.
I have a question which might make me cheery again. In Freedom there will be offered for sale something called an XP Boost.
Exactly what is this?????
Can it give results similiar to a Double Xp Weekend if we buy enough of it to last a weekend???
If so, then I won't feel so bad. My Elec/Ice Dom will just have to wait a bit longer to get some levels.
Lisa-Very curious about this XP Boost. -
Quote:I could not "Call in sick" if I wasn't...not in my nature. Just a job you say..Jobs are precious things.C'mon guys, just lay out of work or call in sick. It's just a job. Or do like me and join a union that fights to keep a 40 hour work week AND get us a high enough wage that we can live well on those 40 hours.
PS I know unions aren't for everyone and I might have to take some crap for this, but I never let a chance to promote Brotherhood pass me by. IBEW LU 613!

Quote:Hey, my house is paid off, my car is paid off, I have vacation hours and earned time off hours....I need three weeks or so to request them though...and August is no good because we are changing the store around and the further we get into season the more important my job gets, and, I begged and pleaded for some playing time this weekend...I never cease to be amazed by sentiment like this. Also, wow at the time off of work part.
If I want to try to take time off of work for an event that gives me pleasure, what is wrong with that??????????????????
Lisa-Confuzzled. -
Quote:I know, I know..I apologized but I worked sooo hard to carve some playing time, and I know I won't get another chance. And I laughed at the vision of Charlie Brown and Lucy. I really enjoyed that comic stripI don't know why people are saying things like "The devs need to be made aware" and "Devs, I hope you're reading this."
They're human, too. They know this affects people (probably part of the reason for the additional two week stretch.) They've had it happen to them, too. Believe it or not (and I'm not picking on lisa here, just what seems to be an attitude in some of the posts,) they're not sitting back with cupcakes and bourbon going "Bwahahaha! We got 500 of them to take off, and *yoink* pulled a Lucy on their Charlie Brown! What can we do to screw the players over next?"
Cupcakes. yummmm..Bourbon yuck.....Cupcakes and Mountain Dew???
Lisa-Going to log back into the game and this time I will use science and beat some Council tail
And, thanks Bill -
Quote:I play on Victory though....never do I see people offering to sell powerleveling there. I logged into Freedom one day, and that is all I saw in Broadcast. "Powerlevel meee, I have the influences"******************************************** !
Is it sad that I really don't care about double xp weekends what with ae being faster then double xp? :P
That Elec/Ice Dom of mine..she needs levels bad and is too weak to get them on her own.She got out of Praetoria just fine..and did well from 20-24 but once she got to level 25..oh meee. the critters in Croatoa think she is a tasty bit of snackfood.

Quote:Hi Abhorrent. Your post made me smile...thank youI'm sorry you're having a rough day :-/ As far as the jury summons, call them tomorrow and just explain that it was misplaced. I had one not even show up once and didn't know about it until I got a notice weeks later. I freaked out, called, and they were very nice about it, and said they'd send out another.
I'm really bummed about DXP being moved as well. My speakers died over the weekend so I had to order more this morning and used expedited shipping to make sure they got here by Thursday -- money wasted now. Ah well.
Err, not about your speakers..but being kind enough as to tell me not to worry
Devs, I hope you all are reading this.
Lots and lots of people have lost out on vacation time, time off, using expensive shipping to make sure they could hear what was going on in the Double XP weekend. Double Xp weekends are precious things.
Reality bites.
Lisa-Gives Abhorrent a big hug. -
Yes it is reality. Grin. I said stuff happenz before I read your post
Reality was double Xp being scheduled after my boss had done the schedule. Reality is my going through hoops to wrestle some playing time during the event. Reality is I succeeded somewhat. Still had to work a bit on Friday and Sunday but I got all Saturday to play. Reality is after all that....the treat is yanked away. Reality is I probably will not be able to repeat the process as I already begged and pleaded.
Reality is...reality bites sometimes...especially when you care.

Quote:I agree. I am glad they found the problems early too...I just wish they could be fixed in time for the planned event....stuffz happens. No matter when it is, it will affect someone. They had given us 2 weeks notice for it starting this weekend, and now they pushed it back 2 weeks. Same amount of notice. Does it suck? Yes! Am I glad that they found an issue before it started and everyone complained about how poorly it was done? Heck yes!
No matter what happens someone isn't going to like the decision made. I know of some people who couldn't be around for it this weekend and will for the push back weekend. Can't pelase everyone all the time.
Thanks Paragon for nipping problems in the rear before they got to us.
After I logged off the forums, I logged into the game and tried to kill some Council in a flashback mission, but my Dom flashed back to a time before she had her awesome powers and I was in no condition to be canny and use science, so I faceplanted more than a couple times. The third time I died, I sat back and laughed until I started to cry again.
Then I got up and started doing a bit of housecleaning to clear my mind..and found a forgotten Jury summons. Never in my life have I failed to attend Jury duty, and it is against the law to fail to report, so naturally that got me hysterical again.
No Double XP weekend, and I might be goin' to jail for not reporting for Jury Duty...I will call tomorrow and find out how much hot water I am in. Hopefully instead of tossing me into the nearest jail cell, they will reschedule me...fingers crossed.
Watery grin..I am not having a good evening, and sorry for my meltdown..I am good with major problems, but the little things get to me...going to jail though...all joking aside, do they throw folks in jail if they forgot a summons only once in 32 odd years of receiving them?
Lisa-Future jailbird -
NOOOOOOOOOOOO....I jumped through hoops to get some playing time during double XP. I begged my bosses into letting me off early on two days of it, and I talked a coworker into working for me on Saturday.
Everything had been planned, and set into stone, I was eagerly looking forward to getting some levels on my weak dom(Elec/Ice), and now, now....no double XP weekend??? I bet dollars to donuts my Boss has that schedule done already.....I will appear a loon if I try to get time off again...
I am crying. Drat it, I feel like a big baby, but I have tried desperately to get some time for this, I succeeded, and now....now....now my chances of getting time off for the new date is ...not good at all.
I am not kidding when I say I am crying....I tried so hard..... -
Sounds like a street justice/energy aura is in my future.

Quote:What Vet Reward are they taking away? It sounds like we are entering Freedom with all the Vet rewards we have now.It kind of sucks that they are taking away a veteran reward, but it will be nice not having to take punch to get tough.
Sure we will have to use some of our Paragon Points to buy the new power sets, but the company needs money inorder to keep giving us nice things...the present economy is so horrible that they cannot afford to give us everything for free.
Just like in real life, we have to budget...and now that I think about it, for our younger players this might be a good life lesson--learning to budget money is taught in schools, but this is hands on.
If you want something nice, you have to save your monthly stipend.
If you want to buy Paragon Points, instead of buying a snack after work, put that money aside into a little Paragon Points piggy bank. When what you want shows up in the Paragon Market, take your piggy bank to the bank, deposit it, then scramble home and buy your points.
Anyways, I have to get ready for work.
Thanks for allowing me to ramble/brainstorm

Indeed....my Scrapper, Brute, Resistance based toons always need Tough, but I never seem to get enough defense bonuses to justify taking Weave...but I take the stupid power anyway.
Lisa rubs hands together and plots....If I drop Weave and use Purple Inspirations as needed, I can drop Kick and replace it with one of the new powers in the Travel sets.
Which opens up the need to take another power to replace Weave, and the new Leaping power sounds yummy fun.
But...hmmm....You must have two powers in the travelset to open up the new one..right?
I always take Combat Jump as I stick Kismet Acc, and Winter's Gift in it...Gads..I might have to take both Fly and SJ..which would be fine as they don't take slots and I can put the slots I would have had in Weave into other powers.
It sounds like a solid plan to me.
Yes, I am going to happily respect every one of my resistance Scrappers and Brutes.

Snowglobe-The last Column was chopped off? I am fine??? If so, whew
Zombie Man and Peerless Girl, thanks for responding....and 180something dollars for tier 9 huh?
I was going to just buy my way to the beginning of Tier 8,(That sounds soo bad) but, hmm, going all the way could be a Christmas present to me from my cats..the silly things owe me as they forgot to remember me on Mother's Day
Again, thanks you three and anyone who responded and whom I didn't see..I need to reread this thread -
[QUOTE=Snow Globe;3755423]Erm, sorry, just noticed that version of the chart was cut off. This chart is proper:
What is your highest Vet Reward badge? I'm guessing the 57 month badge.
Oh Heavens, I looked at it wrong....I HAVE FOUR slots TO GO....how did I make that mistake? I think I need to drink something cold....miscounting slots on a chart that easy to read is scary stuff....I am st 54 now. Somehow I did not see that last column. -
Quote:Lisa looks at chart. So On July 24th I will have three slots to fill before I can enter tier 8?If you don't want to go to that hassle:
Find your highest vet reward badge in the above table. That will tell you what tier you are on when Freedom launches. It won't tell you what slot (as you can generally pick which reward from the tier), but it will tell you what tier you are on.
1,200 Paragon Points bought in the store gets you 1 reward token
This reward token unlocks 1 Paragon Reward
Does 1 Paragon Reward buy 1 slot?
Dang it but I am confuzzled.

Quote:Big Wide Grin....Small world....I hit 54 months on the 24th Of July tooI'll have 57 months in three days (the 24th of July)
So...how far in am I then?
I am also a tad confused ..think I am in the very start of tier 7....but not sure.
Tier 8 is where I want to be, and I wonder how much of a bite it will take out of my pocketbook to get me there "Naow"

What will I miss..firstly I will misss my Candy Cane gathering loop.
I had a little loop when I ran for Candy Canes. It did not encompass all of Galaxy, just a small fraction, but I loved it.
Second, I will miss the park. It is beautiful and well done...good Embalmed Vaz hunting to be had there too.
Oh well, there will be other Candy Cane loops to be found, and Perez Park and a certain place in Boomtown is still standing to hunt the explody type of Vaz.
And I am looking forward to the new Tutorial
I do think though that the Galaxy Girl statue should be hauled to Atlas Park...I don''t want her to be forgotten.
Lisa-Very excited for Freedom..is it Late Summer/Autumn yet? -
Quote:It is, it is. My brute, Cinderwatt, eats Rikti, Carnie, and Malta for breakfast the way most of us chug Mountain Dew and black coffee during double XP weekend.Rikti are weak to negative energy, fire and cold. They throw out a lot of S/L, Energy and Psi damage.
I would say Fire/Elec would be a good Rikti farming brute.
Make one, I feel certain you will love it.
Lisa. -
Quote:I feel your pain. I too am in retail, and like you my schedule was already doneI for one am not excited. You guys are so inconsiderate with announcing these things. Anyone who works most any kind of retail job requires 2 weeks notice to request time off. My schedule is already set in stone and includes two severely late shifts, one of which is followed by a morning shift, meaning the afternoon of that day will be spent sleeping. Would it really kill you to give us enough time to request off? Thanks, but once again it does me no good because you didn't take typical work scheduling logic into account.
I have early morning starts though, and my boss said after I set the ads I could go gome early...then, after listening to my story of Double Xp weekend, he said no way is it healthy to game for a long extended time anyway, and my fingers and mind would thank him if they could for making me come into work

Quote:AhhhThat thread has nothing do to with a solo Incarnate path - it's a thread started by David Nakayama to let players highlight "missing" costume parts, which this steampunk face seems to be.
I know this thread, the one I am currently posting in, has nothing to do with the solo Incarnate path..I was just explaining why I have not been active in this red lip topic.
Lisa-Going away. -
Ahhh....but you can't help me be nimble on the keyboard....though I have five 50s, each with the Alpha Slot opened, so I can't be too hamfisted...hmmm...
Anyways, hello Golden Girl.
Know something, I was playing with my Energy/Energy Brute today and I thought of you. Energy Aura is nice and golden, and all shimmery. You might want to give this secondary a try.
Lisa. -
Quote:Grin. A request for the "Solo, Fumblefingered, Heroes to be granted Incarnatehood?"
That was fast. -
Quote:Lisa puts down the gauntlet.XOXO
Heck, I'd use 'Red Lips' for at least 1 of my 5 slots of both were available
This post is the last I will post on this subject. I let my thoughts be known and am satisfied...I will save my begging, and complaining, and whines, for the Solo path to the Incarnate goodness
Lisa-creates a Protest sign reading "Incarnatehood For The Solo Fumblefingered Heroes of COH", and waves it around.
