  1. I would like to take part but cant guarantee it so I wont go for one of your official team leader spots - if I do turn up (real life permiting) I probably just create a team from my sg (and anyone else that would like to join me). The word is out and am sure the heroes will put a great fight this time.
  2. Well im still downloading

Maybe others are in the same situation, dont know. Although last few times there def has been a sharp decrease in attendance.
  3. Anyone not on test due to having to download another patch? Werent aware of this and stuck on downloading screen (which is going very slow).

You've still got that nice figure by your name artaniz. Poor Lord Torment hasnt though (only recently got rid of his main toon though) and he knows its just a temporary measure. I hate it when sg is quiet so cleaned up sg abit just to liven things up. Ofcourse when I7 comes no doubt be having to invite lots of old faces .

At the moment afew of us are badgehunting in order to get the accolades when I7 hits. Here is a link which shows you what you need to have to get the appropriate accolade ( click me ).

Regarding our base it has now been affected by a crummy bug where I cant do much to the base. I have deleted some control in order to put a super computer in and now cant place anything (not even a decorative barrel). Not sure how long will be affected by this, just means wont be able to rez in base or use our teleporter .
  8. I remember once in city of heroes joining a team and met up with them in the mission and low and behold there was my twin. Completly chance but was almost identical to my character apart from was slightly taller and had bigger boobs.

Perhaps we need an all pvp vg to beat the heroes with our own mass buffing/debuffing/healing. I'd deffo get in it with my fire/thermal corr or wee little energy/kin corr. I think teams of corrupters, dominators with maybe a little stalker support or mastermind support in I7 would work.

There is a pvp sg - its called Last League of Destruction. Description (ive just copied and pasted) "Pure PvP group for newcomers and experiences players alike. Set up by various PvP playes from CoH and Defaint server as well as a good mix of Pve players from Union. This group is all about PvP builds and creating arena teams to give heroes a challenge. We have some of the most recognised PvP players from Union, Defiant, CoH and CoV all keen on creating a group to compete equally with the heroes".

To get in contact these globals - @Kinslayer, @Scar, @Max Powerz
  10. Welcome aboard.

    1) Blind invites are quite common, most will result in a not so great super group where all they want is you to earn prestige for them. As captain morgan link will show you there are afew nicely established sg's that are about which should be able to help you on your way. There are alot of good sgs out there and my advice would be to look at your fellow team mates sgs and if you find yourself teaming with the same bunch maybe check out there sg.

    2) When to buy enhancements. A tricky one which ultimately depends on how you play. For example if you seem to be getting killed abit (due to being new and learning the game) the upside to this is your leveling progress is slowed abit meaning you will gain more infamy allowing you to buy better enhancements. I tend to find the early levels dont really require you to splash much out on your enhancements - I use the ones I gain through the missions and sell the ones I dont need to quatermasters. You can buy Dual Origins when you are 15 but might be an idea to wait till you are level 17 and then buy level 20 Dual Origins. What you can buy/afford depends on circumstances and I know afew sgs that help donate abit of infamy so that you can plod on with the game without struggling to much.

    3) Again as mentioned there is a planner which allows you to map out your character. It can be useful but I have almost always used it to get a good idea about the various powers available to me. I have almost always just plodded on selecting the powers as and when available. I might also speak to someone I am teaming with and ask them about how they find particular powers before making up my mind. If you are fairly sensible then it will be hard to gimp a character. Its worth remember that its not always about making the most efficient character but an enjoyable one. Some people dont like various powers or may see them as a waste but I think the way you are going about is fairly right - does the power sound appealing and something you will enjoy using.

You can also read about what othe people think about various powers in these forums but remember opinions will always differ. The important thing is you are enjoying your character and its journey. I think the slotting rather than powers make a bigger impact. As long as you dont try say 6 slotting brawl or rest then you should be fine. If you do make a mistake then there is always the option of doing a respec where after completion you can remap you character (basically picking your powers again).
  11. Ive got a lv 40 thermal/energy corruptor. I would say he is hybrid of both defender and blaster. He can be quite offensive but he also has most of his secondary's such as shields and heals.

How I play ultimately depends on who I am facing and the team I am teaming with - my role with thus change on these factors. I try sit back at the beginning of the fight, thus free from aggro to go about my business (defending side). As the battle goes on I normally start to get more offensive taking advantage of scourge. I love it when teamed with another thermal as it allows me to be even more offensive - kamikaze runs into the heart of big mobs are very common when I know I have backup behind me - NOVA TIME!

I suppose thats one of the great perks (and why I have enjoyed this toon so much) of a corruptor - its adaptability.

any chance of increasing the number of players? loads of pvp'rs didnt get a chance to sign up

Too bad, got to fancy my chances now
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Right. I'm gonna take a right moan at this myself now. And guess what, I, myself, have a 40 Stalker, and am in the process of levelling up another. Now, I've been PvPing with my new one (LvL 29 Em/Nin), and was up against people with perception (They all did thanks to tactics, along with ice armour etc), and I have no stealth, only hide. And what did I do? I kicked major [censored]. Only a sucky Stalker should RELY on the ability to hide and not be seen. Mix it up a bit, use TACTICS (No, not the power). Stop complaining here. If you're moaning about being seen in PvP, then you obviously don't have what it takes to be an effective Stalker.

Something else, I wasn't even running Mez Rez or BFs. I could have played with hide off if I liked. Would have made life slightly more difficult but I'd still have managed.

I patiently await the counter arguement on this one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hehe my counter argument is you were exactly fighting decent opponents (to your i was kicking [censored] - every villain was kicking [censored] ). There were an abundance of stalkers meaning as soon as a hero got drawn in they were dead. There werent really any controllers either so no real need for mez protection. If I recall the biggest challenge that nite was which villain got the finish blow on a hero.

Agree with over statements such as moaning about being seen, then you aint got what it takes to be an effective stalker.
  14. Depending on the final sort of line up I be happy to change characters (from stalker to more support orientated character_ - currently seeing a big influx of scrappers and stalkers.
  15. Yay!

    Character Name: Gutts
    Global Handle: Max Powerz
    Archtype: Stalker
    Powersets: Spines/Super Reflexes
  16. Cheers for that and your patience for waiting for me at the end)

Now just got to meet all the other requirements to get the geas accolade.
  17. Damn you!!! So need this but a union leaders meet up - hopefully it wont take long - if you dont mind me being absent from about 7 pm for abit then i join ya.
  18. Cool, grats dude. Would have teamed with ya on the last bit but was sure you wouldnt hit 50 until monday earliest.

Also remember its the time taken that matters but the journey.

Great turn out guys and gals. Must say it looked great seeing so many people online at the same time .

I took loads of photos and will be passing them onto Blackbone shortly. Hopefully a number of yourselves did the same - hoping so as im a [censored] photographer.

It didnt go quite as planned with it unfortunatly kicking us out of our own base (or losing map server) - thus we had to host the pics somewhere else (decided on Mercy).

So just a quick thanks for taking the time and effort into making this a success. You were all very patient and must admit it was great to see so many good costumes.

In other news we have accepted Kittys invite to reform a coalition with Demons & Vengeful Spirits with Akatsuki making space for them (as full on coalition spots). I have tried to get in contact with them but no one seemed on.

Also other good news is Humanoid Doom was unable to attend the photoshoot and thus we wont have to suffer or scare away any visitors to our website .

I really like pointless posts. Especially at the weekend.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quiet you - stop browsing the forums and get back to our mish! We've got nothing constructive to add - now move along people and let Raz do his thing.
  21. Damn pub, put an early end for me getting it. Hopefully others will run something similar so can finish it off. Def sign me up for the geas one
  22. Well the good thing about it is it is reaching out to those that would like to give it ago or atleast experience it. I am hoping if we can keep the momentum going that more and more people will take an interest and give it ago. We just have to keep getting more and more people on board spreading the word of these workshops/sessions.

One thing I am wondering though is all the testing that is going on, is it to readdress the balance between heroes vs villains or to improve villains vs villains?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I realise that Max, but I still want to keep the discussions going on what might be good sets for PvP. Since very few of us want to spec into pvp builds pre-50 (I dont either), this is the best source of information. I agree that with specialised PvP chars the discussion would be better, but that doesn't make it useless at this point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I understand that totally and dont think talking about it does any harm. It raises awareness and possible ideas amongst other things so is a good thing . However was just trying to put across the point that results are tainted to some degree due to mainly having PvE builds and PvE players. I think this was highlighted abit when you had a match between 2 stalkers and 2 brutes. The brutes won 7:3 or something. However, I brought along my pvp stalker and teamed with another and we kicked the poor brutes [censored]'s.

I think where I am going with this is that we should be using these workshops foremostly as training sessions and not what works best (as we dont have the experience and the proper builds to make proper judgements currently). Dont take this as nothing can be learned and no good comes out of it. Its just that there is a world of difference between a PvP build and player against a PvE build and player.
