Quote:Are you sure you chose her? Does she show up on your contact list now? Do you already have 7 mission slots filled up?I went ahead and met with Rein and chose her.
Funny thing is..... GW still doesn't want to "talk" with my charachter
LOLOL
Guh
The last option would be to check how many "Major Story" Arcs you have open. If you have too many, you will be unable to start a new one. Unfortunately, since you said you just now became a Villain, this means you'll probably have to switch all the way back to Heroside to complete one or two of them and then switch back to Villain again so you can start her arc. -
You have to talk to Arbiter Rein in front of the Grandville tower. He's the one that will introduce you to the Patrons and allow you to make your choice. Only then will you be able to run one of the arcs and unlock your Patron powers. (You no longer have to do GW's arc just because you want her powers. Any of the 4 will unlock all 4.) You even get another respec for completing the arc as well.

If you walk up to a citizen whose name starts with F and click on them, they tell you what the Paragon City time is. During the Halloween Event they will always tell you it's Midnight. The day and night cycles are not running at all, therefore any nighttime events like Vampyres in Striga or Ghosts in Croatoa will always be running, but you cannot defeat the required foes during the day to initiate Caleb's spawn.

You need to create a support account to ask questions on the support page. It uses your e-mail address not your regular userID, has a different password and wont cost you any extra money.

Well yeah, I didn't disbelieve the Wiki. It just surprised me. I bet you are right about the change to 3 days sticking in my mind.

I feel like I saw these pictures already a couple years ago...

Quote:No problem at all. It just took a quick search in the Wiki. The thing I found odd was that those patch notes were from September of 2006. I didn't remember the feature being that old. I only started playing in July of that same year. time is just flying by! hahaMaster-Blade supplied the relevant notes.
Bravo, good sir. i tip my hat to you. -
Quote:Many of us are still running Core2Duo and Core2Quad without any issues. Granted, you might be better off with the Quad in the long run, but as long as you are not using any other programs at the same time as CoH, there would be virtually no difference with the Duo.I somewhat doubt the Core 2 Duo has any hope of running CoH decently...
On the other hand, in their popular days, the Duo 3.0 and the Quad 2.4 were the same price, and I know many people who went the way of the higher Duo instead, claiming the higher speed makes up for the lack of extra cores, especially for just playing a game that only utilizes 2 cores. Again, we are still using the systems today without issue, even with Ultra Mode (with updated video cards anyway).
They might be outdated in general terms, but I don't think I'd call it useless yet. Even this old laptop I'm using right now only has a Pentium 1.7 and can still kinda run the game on minimum settings if I really get desperate on the go. Well, I can manage the market anyway. haha. Anyway, I think the OP was simply trying to crank it all the way up, which the system can clearly not handle, but I'm sure they should be able to find a lower setting that still works just fine. -
Quote:That is not necessarily correct:As soon as your "friend" buys & activates the game you get your reward, also works on "invite a friend back" if your friend's account lapses for 90+ days.
Quote:Should your friend buy a standard account and pay for one month of subscription to City of Heroes®/City of Villains®, you will be automatically credited with one month of free game time!
When your friend activates the trial account to a full retail account by buying a retail box or buying a direct digital download and then pays for their first month of subscription (excluding any periods of play included with the product purchase), you will have one month of free game time credited to your City of Heroes®/City of Villains® account.
You will only receive your free game time if your friend converts to a paid subscription within two months of the invitation being sent.
That said, the OP will still have to spend money for one month of game time for the new account just to get the free month on the main account, so hopefully he plans on actually using the account.
On a side note, you can add the new game account under the same master ncsoft account. It makes everything easier to manage. -
Original Mission Dropping Feature Patch notes:
* You will now be able to drop missions that you receive from Contacts. Dropping a mission will carry with it everything that completing the mission successfully does. It will advance story arcs, improve Contact XP, grant special powers, give Mission Complete XP, etc. You will not be able to “replay” the mission you dropped. This is done this way so that you are not stuck on a Story Arc, or are missing a vital Temp Power needed later on in the mission chain, etc.
* In order to drop a mission, you must be the mission owner, and you can talk to the Contact that gave you the mission. If the mission is droppable, an option to drop it will appear.
There are a few caveats to the Mission Dropping Feature:
* You can only drop one mission every 7 days with this feature. If you need to clear a mission, but have already used this feature in the past 7 days, you will need to contact Customer Support as normal.
* You can not drop timed missions.
* You can not drop missions that are part of a Task or Strike Force.
* You can not drop missions that give badges as Mission Completion rewards.
* Some other missions are marked as "undroppable." These are missions that have rewards that are well above average.
* You will not be given the choice at all to drop missions that are undroppable. You will need to contact Customer Support in order to clear these missions.
* If you are on a team with someone who drops a mission, you will receive no rewards for the mission.
* Missions that are dropped are logged so we can more easily debug bugged missions. -
As mentioned, you are the one that made the error. I have nothing to apologize for. You are clearly still delusional and so far out of touch with reality that it isn't even funny anymore. At least I can admit when you are wrong. You are welcome.

That's a good point. Web Grenades have -immob and -fly, and characters that have Immob protection will not see the Web graphic effect, but still be affected by the -Fly. It is possible that's why so many people think the Caltrops power has -fly when it really doesn't, and it explains gameboy1234's experience.
Edit:
And I just further verified that Silver Mantis' [Spike Trap] does not have -fly either and can be escaped by flying as well. -
Quote:I'll have to test some more with other flight powers, but I can say with 100% certainty that toggling the Raptor Pack will free you from them with ease. I've done it countless times on several characters, and make a habit of advertising it to the team when we encounter such situations when it might be useful. I don't have "issues with KoA" either, but it's nice to move on to the next mob quicker anyway. lolI'm pretty sure this is not the case. I regularly use Hover and Caltrops always sticks me to the ground.
Maybe there's a difference for activating a temp power vs. running a pool power, or something about the Temp Power you are using (I know there's at least one bugged temp travel power in game), but my experience sure doesn't match yours.
If you look at the power info for [Captrops] in-game, it does not mention -fly. If anything, you might have to make sure you are not pressing forward to move away until you are high enough to clear them. Other than that, I don't know why it wouldn't work for you.
Edit:
Just tested with standard Hover and Fly, and they both work also... without even having to go vertical first. You can even drag yourself right across them while flying and not be slowed by them one bit. As mentioned, the -speed is runspeed only. It does have -jump, but there is no -fly effect at all. Any flying power should work equally as well. -

Quote:In case you are interested, I found a codec to play the ogg files directly on Windows Media Player:Oh, my mistake then, that's probably it, I made an mp3 link if you want to make sure:

I'm in NA. I had the "password incorect" error a little while ago as well. I've had it a few times in the past as well. It usually lets me in if I retry a few minutes later.

I frequently toggle on a flight pack to free myself. Caltrops have -runspeed and -jump, but not -fly.

Quote:I don't think the Caltrops damage is auto-hit. The slow effect is, but not the damage. On a side note, as long as you have a Raptor pack, you should be able to easily free yourself from them by flying up and away.I cant begin to tell you how much I hate this mission. The problem with the caltrops is that every single mob on the map drops caltrops. And they spam them non stop. It seems like after every attack, a new set of caltrops gets thrown on the floor, and the new set does not negate the set thrown before it by that same unit. I've seen entire hallways completely covered from side to side several layers deep, doing stupid amounts of autohit damage every second. I've gotten to the point where I will auto delete this tip the second it drops.

Quote:If only that were true. I've seen plenty of missions send us to a completely unrelated zone. After Abandoning the mission and re-investigating it, the same mission pops up in yet another completely unrelated zone... and not usually any closer or easier to get to than the first one it was in. Those are usually the ones I just drop-complete and accept the free credit for. lol*** Tip Found... ***
"To reduce travel time, be in a zone such as Atlas or King's Row when accepting tip missions. They are much easier to get around.
Tip missions take place in the same zone they are taken in, with the exception of a select few that are hard coded to a specific zone." -

Quote:A Ferry is not a Train. I was largely joking by being literal. Normal people would have realized that by the way I wrote it. None of the zones I listed have Train access. It's as simple as that. Lighten up. I really have to LOL that you would say I'm not familiar with the game. Anybody here knows that's not the case. You obviously haven't been paying attention. It sounds like you aren't very familiar with the game. Those zones are connected by Ferry's that serve the same purpose as the monorail. So no, those don't count.
On a side note, it seemed we were referring to heroside only, and I was obviously joking about using the Vilainside zones to begin with, but if we were to include them for consideration, I'll add Monster Island and The Abyss.
Even though I agree the Ferry on Villainside servers the same purpose as the Heroside Train lines, I'm going to disagree with you that PI's Ferry serves the same purpose as well. The Train lines in CoH allow you to travel to multiple destinations from multiple locations. The Ferry in PI is only accessible from a single Ferry in Talos. Mechanically, that makes it no different than the security gate leading to DA as back and forth travel. If I'm going to use your point of view on the situation, then RWZ should no longer be included on your list because the Portals can serve the same purpose as the train too (though a little clunky). You can't have it both ways.
Just because the maps were derived from an existing zone, doesn't mean the game doesn't treat them as their own zones. Again.. largely a joke. Just because you are creating your own rules for why certain zones should be excluded from the list, doesn't mean everybody needs to follow them.
